Abstract

The low level of student activity in Social Studies Education courses is a problem for students' ability to interact well with fellow students, lecturers and learning resources. This condition requires the application of an effective learning model to increase student learning activity in the classroom. This study answered two research questions, namely how student learning activities in Social Studies Education courses use Make a Match cooperative learning and how to apply Make a Match cooperative learning models in increasing student learning activities in Social Studies Education for Elementary School courses. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of this study were the fifth semester students of Class C of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program who attended the Social Studies Education for Elementary School course as many as 47 students. Research data were collected through observation. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis. The results showed that (1) the dominant aspects of learning activities in Social Studies Education courses with the Make a Match type cooperative learning model were aspects of group interaction and aspects of answering questions; and (2) Social Studies Education for Elementary School courses with the Make a Match type cooperative learning model can increase student learning activities, the indications are that the percentage score of student learning activities is above 70 (78.72%).

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 yang terjadi ini menuntut orang tua, guru dan masyarakat untuk bekerjasama dan memperhatikan anak secara psikologis. Hal ini dimaksudkan agar anak dapat mengatasi masalah emosi dan perilaku dengan baik. Para guru yang berkomunikasi dengan anak setiap hari membutuhkan pendampingan untuk mengasah kemampuan tersebut. Berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan yang dilakukan, nampak bahwa guru membutuhkan pendampingan mengenai: 1) Pendidikan Anak, 2) ICT dalam pembelajaran, 3) Kesehatan Mental Anak, dan 4) Kesehatan Medis Anak. Metode pendampingan yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan sebanyak enam sesi, yaitu 1) Pendampingan anak selama belajar daring, 2) Penggunaan ICT dalam pembelajaran daring, 3) Mengenal emosi anak, 4) Kesehatan mental anak selama pandemic, 5) Kesehatan fisik anak selama pandemic dan 6) Pencegahan dan diagnosis infeksi pada anak. Hasil dari pendampingan ini adalah sebanyak 100% guru mendapatkan pemahaman dalam mendampingi anak belajar daring; sebanyak 99,3% guru mendapatkan motivasi dan semangat kembali dalam mendampingi anak belajar daring; ebanyak 99,3% guru mampu membedakan kondisi mental yang sehat dan yang membutuhkan bantuan; sebanyak 100% guru merasa perlu memberikan perhatian kepada kesehatan mental anak selama pembelajaran jarak jauh; sebanyak 99,3% guru merasa mampu mengenali dan 98,6% guru merasa dapat mengatur emosi anak; sebanyak 99,9% guru mengetahui dampak pandemi pada fisik anak; sebanyak 99% guru mengetahui cara pencegahan infeksi covid-19 pada anak; sebanyak 99,7% guru mendapatkan ide dalam merancang pembelajarang daring menggunakan ICT dan sebanyak 100% guru bersemangat menggunakan ICT dalam pembelajaran daring.

Abstract

Kondisi pandemi COVID-19 menuntut adaptasi di berbagai aspek kehidupan manusia, termasuk di bidang pendidikan. Guru diharapkan melakukan pembelajaran jarak jauh. Berdasarkan penelitian sebelumnya, guru mengalami permasalahan dalam perencanaan pembelajaran, kolaborasi bersama orang tua, dan ketidakpuasan dalam aktivitas belajar secara daring. Adaptasi pembelajaran dan situasi pandemi dapat berdampak pada kesehatan mental guru sehingga tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kesehatan mental guru selama mengajar daring. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan metode survei. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah 330 guru sekolah dasar di bawah naungan suatu yayasan di Yogyakarta. Kesehatan mental guru diukur menggunakan Mental Health Inventory (MHI-38) versi bahasa Indonesia dengan reliabilitas sebesar .888. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek negatif yang terdiri dari cemas, depresi, dan hilang kontrol memiliki nilai signifikansi p > .05. Aspek positif, yaitu emosi, cinta, dan puas, juga ditemukan memperoleh nilai signifikansi p >.05. Data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa guru sekolah dasar (SD) memiliki kondisi kesehatan mental yang sama secara signifikan. Kondisi kesehatan mental berdasarkan lamanya pengalaman mengajar ataupun jenis kelamin tidak menunjukkan adanya perbedaan (p > .005), baik keseluruhan kondisi kesehatan mental maupun setiap aspek kesehatan mental. Guru yang memiliki kesehatan mental yang baik mempunyai implikasi pada keterampilan regulasi emosi guru yang baik pula. Hal ini mendukung para guru meninjau kembali proses kognitif yang dimiliki untuk mengatur emosi dalam mendampingi peserta didik dan mengelola pembelajaran dengan baik selama mengajar daring. Perilaku yang ditampilkan oleh guru dapat menjadi model bagi peserta didik untuk dapat mengelola perilaku sesuai dengan kondisi yang dihadapi, terutama perilaku prososial.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of teaching materials based on local wisdom in elementary schools. The purpose of this study was to develop teaching materials in the form of thematic modules based on local wisdom about the uniqueness of the Gunungkidul Regency area that was suitable for fourth-grade elementary school students. This research used Research and Development (R&D). This research procedure used the ADDIE model, namely analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The subjects of this study were experts, teachers, and four-grade elementary school students. This research used interview guidelines, expert validation questionnaires, and response questionnaires obtained from teachers and students. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and questionnaires. This research used qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze the data. Expert assessment results showed that the modul is considered appropriate to be tested in which this decision is previously proven by the validation from the instructional media expert and thematic learning expert. The validation score from the instructional media expert is 3,00 (good category). The validation score for thematic learning expert is 3,36 (very good category). The average score of teachers’ questionnaire responses is 3,66 (very good category). The average score of the limited trial is 3,48 (very good category). The implication of this research is the need to disseminate the idea of using local wisdom for social studies learning resources.Keywords: teching materials, thematic modul, local wisdom

Abstract

This research was motivated using media, namely LKPD, which does not fully support the learning process and the low empathy character of students. This study aims to develop student worksheets using the reflective pedagogical model to grow the empathy character of natural resource material for grade IV elementary school students and to determine its quality. This study uses the ADDIE-type Research and Development (R&D) method. The object of this study is the LKPD using the reflective pedagogical model to grow an empathetic character. The results of this study show that 1) LKPD uses a reflective pedagogical model to grow the empathy character of natural resource material for grade IV elementary school students was developed using ADDIE, namely Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, dan Evaluate. 2) The quality of LKPD using the reflective pedagogical model to grow the empathy character of natural resource material for grade IV elementary school students gets an average score of 3,69 with very good criteria. LKPD developed using a reflective pedagogical model can grow empathy character. This is proven by the percentage increase of 37% from the limited trial results. Therefore, LKPD using a reflective pedagogical model to grow empathy character can be widely tested.
