Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of teaching reading comprehension using the Questioning The Author (QTA) strategy. The method used in this research is pre-experimental method. The subjects of this study were all students of class X SMK Pertanian Negeri 2 Tugumulyo. The results showed that: (1) the student’s scores in the pre-test were 57.96; (2) the student’s post-test score was 75.93; (3) paired t-test was 5.17, higher than 1.69 out of 32 with a significant level of 95% as a one-way critical value. In conclusion, learning to read comprehension using the QTA strategy is significantly effective in class X students of SMK Pertanian Negeri 2 Tugumulyo in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of learning vocabulary using word wall media for seventh grade students of SMP Negeri Selangit in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. This research method is pre-experimental with one group pre-test and post-test design. The results showed that there were four main findings, namely the student’s scores on the pre-test 51.25, the student's scores on the post-test 70.53. The normality in the pre-test was 3,200 and 11,070, while the post-test results showed 5,427 and 11,070 and the result of the paired t-test calculation was 11.14. In conclusion, learning vocabulary using word wall media is significantly effective in class VII students of SMP Negeri Selangit in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. Abstract

This study aims to investigate the mixing of the code used in the novel Wendy's Whishes. In this study, researchers used descriptive qualitative methods to investigate utterances in novels. The subjects in this study were writers and characters in the novel. The transcription of the Wendy's Wishes novel contains collected data regarding the reasons people mixed the code. based on research results, in the novel Wendy's Whishes, the author uses several mixing codes. There are thirty-five sayings that have mixed codes in the novel. In conclusion, the author uses thirty-five words that have mixed codes to make conversations in the novel interesting. Abstract

This study aims to describe the attitudes and challenges of students towards the teaching practicum program (PPL) of STKIP-PGRI Lubuklinggau in Junior High School. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. The research subjects were 16 respondents who were selected by purposive sampling. In collecting data, researchers used interviews and questionnaires. The results showed that many respondents had the most positive attitudes towards the affective and behavioral components. However, the component with the lowest teacher candidate teacher attitudes is the cognitive component. In terms of challenges for prospective teachers, most respondents (37.5%) rated field workload as a challenge, while the least field of supervision was faced by respondents during PPL (6.25%). In conclusion, the analysis of findings related to the attitudes of prospective STKIP-PGRI Lubuklinggau teachers in Junior High Schools is an almost positive attitude. Abstract

This study aims to explain the choice of language and domains in the Lubuklinggau indigenous people, language attitudes towards the selected language, and the factors determining language choice in the Lubuklinggau indigenous people. The research method used is the descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study were the indigenous people of Lubuklinggau. The data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires and interviews. This study shows three common languages commonly used by the Lubuklinggau indigenous people and seven domains. The three languages are PMLD, BI, and Cul. In conclusion, the Lubuklinggau indigenous people usually use three common languages in seven territories. The choice of language is influenced by several factors such as dominant language, solidarity, prestige and politeness.
