Abstract

The purpose of the research is to improve student’s critical thinking on the concept of maintaining the environment in Elementary School by using the learning cycle model. The research approach is used qualitative research, and the research method is used action research class (PTK) by using Kemmis and Mc. Taggart design. The participants were all students class III SDN Parakanmuncang 1, academic year 2016-2017. The results showed an increasing in learning outcomes that were shared in various aspects: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The use of the learning cycle model makes the process of significant change. The use of learning cycle model in IPS learning on the concept of natural and artificial environment was able to improve the critical thinking skill of students and able to improve student learning outcomes. It can be proven from the individual evaluation of each cycle in each action. The results of the average grade values individually are as follows; cycle 1 reached 43.45, on the implementation of cycle 2 reached 58.25, and on the last implementation of the cycle 3 reached 74.8. Which means there is an increase in learning outcomes IPS of students class III SDN Parakanmuncang 1 after using the learning cycle model

Abstract

This research is motivated by learning mathematics in the field of geometry with the volume of blocks and cubes which are considered as difficult subjects by elementary school students, resulting in low mathematical representation abilities of fifth grade students. One of the efforts that can be done to improve the ability of mathematical representation is Multibase Arithmetic Block media. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of Multibase Arithmetic Block media on the mathematical representation ability of fifth grade students in learning the material for volume of blocks and cubes at SD Negeri Babakan Bandung, Tanjungsari District, Sumedang Regency for the 2020/2021 academic year. The research method and design used was pre-experimental with a one-group pretest-posttest design for the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Babakan Bandung, totaling 10 students. The data of this study were collected through the pretest and posttest scores of mathematical representation abilities. The results of the study show that there is an effect of applying Multibase Arithmetic Block media to the ability of mathematical representation on the volume material of blocks and cubes in fifth grade students of SD Negeri Bababkan Bandung in the 2020/2021 school year. This can be seen from the average value of the initial understanding ability of students before treatment (pretest) obtained an average value of 69.6 while after treatment (posttest) of 84.8 and the results of the t-test showed tcount > ttable i.e. 10.22 > 2 ,2622.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya minat belajar mahasiswa pada matakuliah Model Pembelajaran IPS di SD. Hal ini dikarenakan kurangnya penerapan model pembelajaran pada saat perkuliahan. Berdasarkan keadaaan tersebut. Peneliti mencoba untuk menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Problem based learning (PBL). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peningkatan minat belajar mahasiswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan tidak lain yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Megunakan prosedur Kemmis dan Mc.Taggart dengan empat tahapan yaitu planning, acting,observing, reflecting. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan lembar observasi aktivitas. Hasil Penelitian membuktikan Minat belajar mahasiswa yang meningkat pada tiap siklusnya dengan data awal memperoleh 46%, siklus I memperoleh 72% dan siklus II meningkat menjadi 88%. Sedangkan Berpikir Kritis Mahasiswa data awal memperoleh 38%, siklus I memperoleh 70% dan siklus II meningkat menjadi 86%. Hasil tersebut menandakan adanya peningkatan minat belajar dan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada mata kuliah model pembelajaran IPS SD.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low skill of the science process and the ability to think critically by students, because science is seen as difficult, thus affecting learning outcomes. One of the things that is done is to implement the PBL model. PBL combines initial knowledge and new to learn critical thinking and problem-solving skills, so researchers formulate problems, is there any influence of the PBL model on science process skills and critical thinking ability between before and after the use of the PBL model. This study aims to determine the influence on science process skills and critical thinking skills before and after the use of the PBL model. Method with pre-experimental form One–group Pretest-posttest. The population taken was 10 students. Data collection by observation and tests. Based on observations, an overall average of 84 was obtained and the distribution scale was almost entire. So, there is an almost entire influence on students' science process skills using the PBL model. Based on the calculation, a value of -2,228 ≥-3,6 ≤ 2.228, so H0 is rejected and HI is accepted. So, there is noinfluence on the ability to think critically between before and after using the PBL model.
