Abstract

Politeness behavior is one of the important aspects in the development of students' character that should be considered in the education process. However, in reality, many students still exhibit a lack of polite behavior both within and outside of school. The subjects of this study are students, guidance counsellors, and the school principal. Meanwhile, the data is collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. In analyzing the data, the researcher utilizes data reduction, display, and verification processes, which involve selecting relevant data, presenting it clearly, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate that the guidance counselor’s teacher has carried out the implementation of group guidance services to improve the etiquette behavior of students effectively. Supporting factors include student participation in group guidance services, support from the school principal, and collaboration between the guidance counselor’s teacher and other subject teachers. The inhibiting factors include initial lack of enthusiasm from students during the service provision and students' lack of self-confidence.  The impact after the implementation of group guidance related to etiquette behavior shows that this service is most effectively applied to students, as evidenced by improved attitudes compared to before receiving services from the guidance counsellor. Keywords: Group Guidance, Polite Behavior, MA Mazro'atul Huda.

Abstract

Students' confidence in making career choices is an important aspect of readiness for the future. However, not all students have strong confidence in their potential and career decisions. This study aims to examine the role of Guidance and Counseling teachers in building the confidence of grade XII students at SMA Negeri 1 Kudus related to career choices. The data collection technique used a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed that the Guidance and Counseling teacher acts as a motivator, mediator, and facilitator in recognizing students' potential, overcoming psychological barriers, and helping to make career selection decisions in accordance with interests and talents. Counseling services are provided individually and in groups with humanistic and cognitive-behavioral approaches, which are effective in increasing students' self-confidence. Support from the school environment and parental involvement also strengthened the career mentoring process. The conclusion of this study confirms that the role of Guidance and Counseling teachers is very strategic in shaping self-confidence which is a key factor in students' readiness to face the future. Abstract

The development of technology and globalization has contributed to a decline in students’ internalization of religious values, including students of the Islamic Educational Guidance and Counseling Program (BKPI) at IAIN Kudus, who are prepared to become counselors grounded in Islamic values. This condition necessitates the provision of personal development services capable of comprehensively internalizing religious values. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Islamic group guidance in developing the religious values of BKPI students. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects consisted of six students selected through purposive sampling based on low levels of religiosity. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The pretest results showed an average score of 69, while the posttest average score increased to 125.8. This indicates a significant increase of 56.8 points in students’ religious values after participating in Islamic group guidance services. These findings demonstrate that Islamic group guidance is effective as a strategy for strengthening students’ religious character in Islamic higher education institutions.

The focus of this research is to find out an overview of the implementation of cyber group counseling through chat media. Primary data were obtained through observations and interviews with respondents who practiced cyber group counseling. Meanwhile, secondary data were obtained through documentation studies/literature studies from literature books and scientific articles in journals related to the focus of this research. Data analysis is carried out through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The result is that the implementation of cyber group counseling through chat media is carried out through four stages, namely the formation stage, the transition stage, the activity stage, and the termination stage. In this case, the group leader and group members exchange conversations with each other by writing down text messages in the group chat room. The advantage of implementing cyber group counseling through chat media is that it can provide speaking opportunities to group members who are less comfortable if they convey their problems or opinions directly, and are considered more practical, efficient, and flexible in their implementation.  The disadvantages are the presence of unstable signal network constraints, group dynamics are not well formed, group leaders have difficulty seeing the expressions of group members because group members' expressions are limited to the use of emoticons, and require a lot of time to write down conversations via text messages. Keywords: Cyber Group Counseling, Chat Media
