Abstract

Stimulant is an agent that stimulates the central nervous system thereby increasing physical and mental abilities and minimizing fatigue. The use of synthetic caffeine stimulants of 10 mg / kg BW is known to have side effects of increasing total cholesterol and increasing LDL, therefore alternative stimulants from natural ingredients are needed. Natural materials that have been studied contain flavonoids and phenolic as a stimulant compound is a single garlic bulbs. The purpose of this study was to determine the stimulant effect of a single garlic bulbs ethanolic extract on mice from the difference in swimming time. The research experimental used Pre test and Post test control design. Sample of this research used mice which were divided into 6 groups. Group 1 pretest dose 5 g / kgBB, group 2 (negative control), group 3 (caffeine), group 4 extract dose 5g / kgBB, group 5 dose 10g / kgBB and group 6 dose 20g / kgBB. Data was analyze using one way Anova continued with Post Hoc test. The group of single garlic bulb ethanolic extract dose 20 g / kgBB had the highest stimulant effect with 222,722 minutes fatigue time difference and statistically have significant difference (p <0.05) than the negative control group. Group of single garlic bulb extract can influence the time of fatigue of mice by extending the swimming time of mice so that it has a longer fatigue time which means it has a stimulant effect

Abstract

Tanaman daun meniran dan daun kembang sepatu memiliki aktivitas mukolitik karena mengandung senyawa flavonoid dan saponin. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas sirup kombinasi daun meniran dan daun kembang sepatu terhadap viskositas mukus. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi true eksperiment. Dengan konsentrasi ekstrak masing-masing F1(1,25% : 0%), F2(0% : 1,5%), F3(0,75% : 0,25%), F4(0,25% : 0,75%), F5(0,625% : 0,75%). Uji mukolitik mukus usus sapi menggunakan viskometer brookfield dengan spindle No.62 pada kecepatan 100 rpm. Data yang diperoleh berupa nilai viskositas yang dianalisis menggunakan One-Way ANOVA dan dilanjutkan uji Post Hoc. Hasil skrining fitokimia daun meniran dan daun kembang sepatu mengandung senyawa flavonoid dan saponin. Uji kadar flavonoid daun meniran didapatkan hasil 16,3194 mg/g EQ ±0,581. Uji pH sirup formula 1 - 5 dan kontrol negatif menunjukan pH bernilai 5 dan kontrol positif asetilsistein 0,1% menunjukan pH 4 dan kejernihan pada sifat fisik sirup dinyatakan memenuhi persyaratan yang ditetapkan. Uji bobot jenis sirup formula 4 memenuhi persyaratan karena hasil yang didapatkan 1,19 g/mL mendekati 1,2 g/mL. Kelompok kontrol negatif (tanpa zat aktif) memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap kelompok formula 3 (0,75% : 0,25%), formula 5 (0,625% : 0,75%) dan kontrol positif asetilsistein 0,1%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah sirup kombinasi ekstrak daun meniran dan daun kembang sepatu formula 3 dan 5 memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap kelompok kontrol negatif. Namun hasil tersebut belum sebanding dengan asetilsistein 0,1%. Kata Kunci : Daun meniran, Daun kembang sepatu, Sirup kombinasi, Mukolitik, Mukus usus sapi

Abstract

Hands are often the medium for contamination with pathogens. Bacteria on the palms of the hands belong to the normal flora group. Hand sanitizer spray is a hand sanitizer in the form of a spray for cleaning or removing germs on hands which contains several active ingredients derived from synthetic chemicals or natural ingredients. Natural ingredients that can be used as antimicrobial alternatives are found in avocados. The active substances contained in avocados are antibacterial, namely flavonoids, tannins, quercetin, alkaloids and saponins. Staphylococcus aureus bacteria are gram-positive micrococci bacteria that attack humans or are coagelase-positive. This research was carried out by making an avocado oil hand sanitizer preparation, then evaluating the formulation of the preparation and calculating the inhibitory power of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The media used was nutrient broth with inhibition power calculated using a caliper and analyzed using One Way Anova to compare each formulation. The results of the preparation meet the requirements of the organoleptic test, namely clear color, avocado aroma and liquid form. The preparation has good homogeneity with a pH value between 4.5-6.5. The inhibitory power obtained with medium strength is between 5-10. Avocado oil is an alternative for making hand sanitizer spray because it has active substances that inhibit the growth of bacteria.
