Abstract

Today, more than three thousand exoplanets have been confirmed and other millions waiting to be discovered. In addition to determine their physical and precise orbital parameters of exoplanets atmosphere is of important to characterize. This will allows us to investigate their evolution and eventually to see the possibility for some exoplanets to harbor a living system. By using the TAU code, we undertake simulations of exoplanets transmission spectra in the near infrared in order to retrieve transmission spectral profiles of these exoplanets. The simulations adopted thermal profile as well as absorption cross-section as a wavelength function for each modeled absorber or trace molecule H2O (0.24 – 0.34 microns) and C2H6 (0-20 microns). The computation provide scale height, optical depth, transit depth and absorption spectra of absorber. The peak of the spectra may lead us to determine the abundance of each molecule in the atmosphere. Our result gave scale height 89% compared to existing data, and total number density of H2O is 5.42×1025 m-3 for Jupiter's atmosphere. Subsequently, we make spectral models of some hot Jupiters, including HD 189733b with WASP 12b, and earth-like exoplanets.

Abstract

Stunting is a serious health problem that has a long-term impact on the quality of human resources, especially in rural areas. This community service aims to increase the understanding of PKK and Posyandu cadres about stunting prevention through advertising and packaging education about simple nutritious food processing made from local ingredients. The method used is interactive socialization. This activity was carried out on December 18, 2024 in Bumisari Village, Natar District, South Lampung Regency. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of advertising and packaging. The cadres are committed to disseminating this information to the wider community. Continuous assistance is expected to make Bumisari Village a pilot for simple nutritious food processing products made from local ingredients with attractive packaging.

Abstract

A hybrid photovoltaic system with a total installed capacity of 1.6 kWp, composed of monocrystalline and polycrystalline modules, was experimentally evaluated under tropical conditions. The energy storage system employs a 72V bank comprising lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries. Hourly experimental measurements were conducted, and exergy analysis based on the Second Law of Thermodynamics was applied to quantify irreversible losses. It is revealed that the system’s energy efficiency ranges from 3.33% to 8.67%. The peak efficiency occurred in the afternoon, coinciding with lower panel temperatures and greater direct power delivery. Quantitative exergy analysis further identified a maximum exergy destruction of 8486.88 W at the irradiance peak, with the lowest exergetic efficiency dropping to 3.61% due to thermal irreversibilities. Additionally, operational monitoring revealed a critical synchronization failure between the lithium Battery Management System (BMS) and the Solar Charge Controller (SCC) during low-voltage states, necessitating manual intervention for recovery. These findings highlight that thermal management and component synchronization are the primary bottlenecks for system reliability in tropical environments.

Abstract

UTOPIA is a remotely operated robotic telescope developed by Observatorium Astronomi Itera Lampung (OAIL) to support astronomy education and research. Integrated with an Android-based control system, it enables remote observations and is applied across different levels of astronomy education. This study integrates UTOPIA with GraXpert, an open-source artificial intelligence tool for astronomical image enhancement through background extraction and noise reduction. A program involving 30 senior high school students was conducted through guided celestial observations, data acquisition, and collaborative image analysis. Participants were introduced to optical telescope principles, CCD imaging, and basic astronomical data processing, while GraXpert was used to enhance nebular image quality and visualization. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated using pre-test and post-test assessments. Results show a significant increase in understanding, with the mean score rising from 10.33 to 25.10 and a normalized gain of 0.75, indicating high conceptual improvement. Questionnaire results indicate positive learning perception, with most participants reporting improved understanding of nebular objects and better comprehension of the UTOPIA system, reflected in dominant positive responses. These findings demonstrate that integrating robotic telescopes with AI-based image processing supports astronomy education and improves students’ conceptual understanding through inquiry-based activities.
