Abstract

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). SARS-CoV-2 is a new type of coronavirus that has never been previously identified in humans. The virus is mainly transmitted from symptomatic people to other people who are in close proximity through droplets. Social restrictions are the government's policy choice as an effort to reduce transmission. People with COVID-19 have an obligation to limit their interactions with other people. The option of self-isolation at home is taken for patients with mild symptoms. This activity aims to provide assistance to Covid-19 patients. Assistance is provided through social media, namely Whatsapp. There were three families who were given assistance in this activity. The information provided is the treatment of Covid-19 patients at home and the prevention of transmission to family members. In addition to providing information, activities are also carried out in the form of partnerships with the Sumurpanggang Health Center for reporting patient conditions. To meet nutritional needs, partnerships are made with mobile vegetable traders. Assistance activities are carried out since the patient is confirmed positive for Covid-19 through an antigen examination for up to 14 days. As a result, Covid-19 patients were able to go through a period of self-isolation and no new cases were found in family members. Suggestions for the community are optimizing the right information about the care of Covid-19 patients who are self-isolating at home

Abstract

Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) can prevent prelactal feeding and facilitate the breastfeeding process in the future, especially when exclusive breastfeeding is wanted. The aim of this community service is to directly increase the knowledge of third trimester pregnant women about IMD and exclusive breastfeeding. With this knowledge transfer process, it is hoped that there will be a change in behavior in preparation for breastfeeding. The implementation of the service uses more than one method. On the first occasion, an extension method was carried out with lectures and questions and answers. The second method is used to assess whether the extension material has been understood by the participants, namely a question and answer session. The implementation of community service, namely increasing understanding and awareness of third trimester pregnant women in Jenggawur Village, Pangkah District has been successful well executed. Participants were very enthusiastic in participating in these activities. This can seen from their active participation in asking questions when the resource person delivers theory. Of the 10 questions given, participants managed to answer 8 questions correctly. This service activity is necessary it is followed up with mentoring, because if it is only given counseling, it is feared that it will not be able to implement it properly.

Abstract

The provision of nutrition education and healthy food for pregnant women and toddlers is crucial in promoting maternal and child health. This project aims to implement a nutrition education program at the Kemuning 2 Keturen Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) to improve the nutritional knowledge and practices of pregnant women and caregivers of toddlers. The project will involve a series of educational sessions conducted by healthcare professionals and trained volunteers. The sessions will cover topics such as the importance of balanced nutrition during pregnancy, appropriate complementary feeding for infants and young children, and the selection of nutritious foods. Visual aids, interactive discussions, and practical demonstrations will be used to enhance the learning experience. Additionally, a nutritious food distribution program will be implemented to provide pregnant women and caregivers of toddlers with access to healthy and affordable food options. Local partnerships will be established with farmers, suppliers, and community organizations to ensure the availability of fresh and nutritious ingredients. The project's success will be evaluated by assessing the participants' knowledge and practices related to maternal and child nutrition before and after the intervention. Feedback from participants and healthcare providers will also be gathered to assess the program's effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. By providing nutrition education and access to healthy food, this project aims to empower pregnant women and caregivers of toddlers in making informed choices regarding their own and their children's nutrition. Ultimately, it is expected to contribute to improved maternal and child health outcomes in the Kemuning 2 Keturen community.
