Abstract

Abstract : Urinary incontinence is the involuntary discharge of urine in sufficient quantity and frequency. It may cause the health and social problems. The purpose of this study was to determine The Effect of Kegel Exercise on the Intensity of Urinary Incontinence in the Elderly at Lubuk Basung Hospital. The type of this study was quantitative research with experimental pre-test-post-test research design. It was conducted at Lubuk Basung Hospital. The samples were chosen by purposive sampling. They were 15 elderly respondents.The average urinary incontinence in the elderly before giving kegel exercises was 10.07 with a standard deviation of 1.710 and after kegel exercises was 4.93 with a standard deviation of 2.815. By using t test with a mean different of 5.133 and p value = 0.005. It means that there was an effect of kegels exercise toward urinary incontinence in elderly at Lubuk Basung Hospital in 2021.It can be concluded that there was an effect of kegel exercise on the intensity of urinary incontinence in the elderly at Lubuk Basung Hospital before and after giving kegel exercise. For this reason, it is expected for the elderly to be able to perform movements or exercises at rest to reduce the intensity of urinary incontinence in order to improve the quality of life of the elderly. Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis unsur-unsur struktural yang termuat dalam cerpen “Dari Tungku Perapian, Ibu dan Aku Melipat Kenangan” karya Farizal Sikumbang. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data diambil dari pembacaan cerpen “Dari Tungku Perapian, Ibu dan Aku Melipat Kenangan” karya Farizal Sikumbang. Untuk pengumpulan data, digunakan teknik studi dokumenter, teknik membaca, teknik mengidentifikasi, dan teknik mencatat. Berbagai alat yang dipakai untuk menganalisis data meliputi dokumen berupa cerpen, buku, laptop, telepon genggam, serta peneliti sebagai instrumen utama. Analisis data dilakukan melalui serangkaian langkah, yaitu mengidentifikasi, mendeskripsikan, dan menyimpulkan hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini yang berkaitan dengan analisis struktural menunjukkan bahwa dari peninjauan terhadap data yang sudah dikumpulkan, ditemukan unsur-unsur yang membentuk cerpen ini, yang paling utama yakni tema yang terkandung ialah kesedihan dan kehilangan. Alur yang dipakai ialah alur maju. Terdapat 7 tokoh dengan beragam karakter yang berbeda-beda. Latar mencakup latar tempat,  waktu, dan suasana. Sudut pandang yang diadopsi penulis dalam cerpen ini ialah sudut pandang orang pertama melalui tokoh “aku”. Gaya bahasa meliputi majas metafora, majas personifikasi, dan majas hiperbola. Terakhir, yaitu amanat yang disampaikan ialah pentingnya mendapatkan restu dari seorang ibu, menjaga perasaan orang tua, dan tidak berlarut-larut dalam kesedihan.

Abstract

This study aims to identify various factors that influence language choice in communication, as well as to analyze how the use of appropriate language can have a positive impact on the success of message delivery. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using thematic methods. The results of the study indicate that success in delivering messages is greatly influenced by language choice, which depends on a number of factors, such as communication context, communication objectives, audience background and characteristics, media or communication channels, and relationships between speakers. The selection of appropriate language has been shown to improve message clarity, build emotional connections, strengthen the credibility of the communicator, avoid misunderstandings, and increase the appeal and memorability of the message. These findings emphasize the importance of choosing the right language in the communication process so that messages can be delivered effectively and easily understood as they should.
