Abstract

This research is aimed to measure the students’ compression in analyzing English text for the students of MA Darul Furqan NW Mengkuru. The students’ comprehension in analyzing English text for the tenth year students of MA Darul Furqan NW Mengkuru are in average level. It can be seen from the mean score of the students that is 31.35 in which this number belongs average level. The percentages of successes of students’ comprehension in analyzing English text for the tenth year students of MA Darul Furqan NW Mengkuru are low. After the scores were classified for the students’ comprehension in analyzing English text, the researcher found 4 students who got very high score. It means that there were 13.33% of them were categorized very high level. Furthermore, there were 4 students who got high level; it means that there were 13.33% of students who were categorized high level. There were7 students who got sufficient level; it means that there were 23.33% of students who were categorized high level, and there were 15 students who got low level; it means that there were 50% of students who were categorized low level, moreover, there were none of students who got very.

Abstract

This research is aimed to measure the correlation between vocabulary mastery and the speaking ability. In this case, the effect of vocabulary mastery on speaking ability is seen as a cause and effect. Furthermore, this research is also intended to look further at how the vocabulary mastery affects the students’ speaking ability.  Based on these facts, this research is categorized into descriptive research. The data of this research is collected through tests. There are 2 types of tests that have been given to measure the students’ ability in mastering vocabulary and speaking ability. Vocabulary test includes translating words (both into Indonesian and into English), and matching items. In doing speaking test, the researcher records the students’ performance when they present their oral test; the students are requested to stand in front of the class to speak about the certain topic for 3 to 4 minutes as the speaking test. The result presents that students’ speaking ability is much influenced by their vocabulary mastery. More than half students obtained high score both in mastering vocabulary test and speaking ability test. This is obvious that the vocabulary mastery plays an important role in speaking ability. Since the score obtained is high, it indicates that the students at MA NW Nurul Haromain , especially who have been as the subject of this research, have gained better achievement in speaking ability. Mastering vocabulary is one of the solutions for the learners to speak. Vocabulary mastery and speaking ability has close correlation each other since vocabulary is a branch of speaking skill. It is also a foundation to better speaking ability which has relationship to other language aspects.

Abstract

This research is aimed to measure the students’ ability in writing narrative text. The population of this research are all students of MA Darussiddiqien  NW Martak Paok. The researcher takes 20% from the number of population; it’s mean that the researcher takes 40 students as the sample. This research is categorized into quantitative research. The data of this research is collected through tests. Looking at the result of analyzing the data, the students are able to write narrative text, the students’ mean score 68. There were 35 students (87,5%) who got good and there were 5 students (12,5%) who got fairly good, there were 36 students (87,5%) who got poor and there were none of students who category very good. The students’ level in writing narrative text was fair.

Abstract

School library as a provider of science and information has a significant role to educational institutions. The school library is a resource center for science and information residing in schools, both basic and intermediate levels. School libraries should be able to play a role, especially in helping students to achieve educational goals. For this purpose, school libraries need to realize their vision, mission and goals by preparing adequate librarians, collections and quality. By maximizing the role and function of management, it is expected that the school library can print students and school residents to always be familiar with the activities of reading, understanding, and understanding the purpose of an information and science, and produce quality work in order to improve the quality of education. So in the end the achievement was relatively easy to achieve. This study aims to know about the management of library management related to management functions such as: planning, organizing, leadership, and controlling in SMAN 1 Janapria. This research is qualytative research, data collecting technique in this research is done by interview, observation and documentation. The data processing procedure is done by triangulation technique, checking informant, and examination of data.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah teknik menulis Brains efektif dalam pengajaran menulis cerita pendek. Ada dua hipotesis dalam penelitian ini; hipotesis kerja (Ha) dan hipotesis nol (Ho). Populasi dalam Penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN Satu Atap Repuk Sintung. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen dan desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah non-equivalent control group design. Dalam penelitian ini, kelompok eksperimen diajarkan menggunakan penulisan terbimbing dan kelompok kontrol diajarkan menggunakan metode konvensional. Data diperoleh dengan melakukan pre-test dan post-test. Pada pre-test, nilai rata-rata kelompok eksperimen adalah 67,93 dan kelompok kontrol adalah 68,23. Hasil post-test kelompok eksperimen sebesar 81,89, sedangkan kelompok kontrol sebesar 74,21. Hasil uji t juga menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Nilai t untuk α = 5% dan n = 77 adalah 2,34 dan t tabel untuk t (0,05)(77) adalah 1,985. Hasil perhitungan membuktikan bahwa t-nilai lebih besar dari t-tabel. Disimpulkan bahwa teknik Brainwriting efektif digunakan dalam pengajaran menulis cerita pendek. Penggunaan rangkaian pertanyaan dan outline dapat membantu siswa dalam mengungkapkan gagasannya. The research aims to investigate whether Brains writing technique effective in teaching writing short story. There are two hypotheses in this research; working hypothesis (Ha) and null hypothesis (Ho). The population in this Research was Seventh grade students of SMPN Satu atap Repuk Sintung. The research applied a quasi-experimental study and the research design was a non-equivalent control group design. In this research, the experimental group was taught using guided writing and the control group was taught using conventional method. The data were gained by administering a pre-test and a post-test. In the pre-test, the mean score of the experimental group was 67.93 and the control group was 68.23. The result of post-test of the experimental group was 81.89, while the control group was 74.21. The result of the t-test also showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group. t-value for α = 5% and n = 77 was 2.34 and t-table for t (0.05)(77) was 1.985. The calculation proved that t-value was higher than t-table. It is concluded that Brainswriting technique is effective to be used in teaching writing short story. The use of sequence of questions and outline can help the students to express their ideas.
