Abstract

This study aims to develop an Integrated Learning Model Based on Local Culture in improving the competence of Kindergarten Children in Medan City. Through Research and Development, researchers developed the Dick & Carey Learning Model Design. This research was conducted in three major stages, namely: 1) Preliminary Study; 2) Development; and 3) Validation Phase. The results of the preliminary research show that: (1) the forms and values of local culture can be integrated into learning in kindergarten; (2) Integrated learning based on local culture can be done in the classroom or outside the classroom; (3) In general, kindergarten teachers in Medan City are very weak in their understanding and skills in developing regional cultural values in learning; 5) Lack of facilities and infrastructure that supports the implementation of integrated learning based on local culture in kindergarten. 6) In general, children's mastery of regional cultural values is very weak. The Learning Design Models developed are: 1) Formulation of indicators of child development achievement; 2) Formulation of learning objectives related to local culture; 3) Development of learning materials and local cultural materials; 4) determination of the steps of learning activities; 5) the determination of media and learning resources, especially for the development of local cultural materials in learning; and 6) Development of assessment instruments.

Abstract

AbstractThis mentoring program aims to improve teacher competency in utilizing educational teaching aids (APE) at the PAUD Seroja Desa Ara Payung. The stages of activities carried out through the mentoring program include: (1) mentoring the preparation of the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) in PAUD, (2) mentoring on how to make educational teaching aids in PAUD, (3) mentoring how to use teaching aids in PAUD learning, (4) simulation in the form of lesson study on the use of educational teaching aids in PAUD, (5) open class/real teaching using educational teaching aids in PAUD learning, (6) monitoring and evaluation, and (7) follow-up. Based on the stages of the activities carried out, teacher competency can be improved in terms of formulation of the lesson plan, the making of educational teaching aids, and their effective use in learning in PAUD. Specific targets and outcomes generated through the mentoring program include: (1) the module for making educational teaching aids in PAUD learning, (2) educational teaching aids based on themes in PAUD learning, (3) teachers using educational teaching aids that will documented in the form of learning videos, (4) scientific publications in online ISSN journals and mass media. The method of implementing assistance is carried out through several stages, including (1) preparation, (2) implementation, (3) monitoring and evaluation, and (4) follow-up. With the method used, it is able to improve teacher competencies related to the use of educational teaching aids in the learning process effectively in PAUD.Keywords: Educative Teaching Aids, Teacher Competence, PAUD.

Abstract

AbstrakJenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dua siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Instrumen pengumpulan data adalah lembar observasi. Adapun yang menjadi masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: (1) dalam proses belajar mengajar metode yang di gunakan kurang bervariasi (2) Sebagian anak dalam proses pembelajaran kurang aktif, (3) dalam pembelajaran guru/pendidik kurang terampil masih kurang terampil dalam membuat alat praga serta media yang di gunakan sangat terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1). Meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa anak 4-5 Tahun Di TK Islamic Preshool Beranag. Subjek penelitian ini adalah anak kelompok B yang berjumlah 19 oran, yang terdiri 12 orang anak laki-laki dan 12 orang anak perempuan sedangkan objek penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa anak 4-5 Tahun Di TK Islamic Preshool Beranag Gayo Lues T.A 2012/2013. Hasil observasi refleksi pada siklus 1 setelah menggunakan metode bercakap-cakap sebanyak 2 kali pertemuan, pada pertemuan 1 dari 19 anak yang memiliki kemampuan bahasa  15 anak (75%) tergolong cukup dan 4 anak  (20%) tergolong kurang. Pada pertemuan 2 (95%) tergolong cukup. Sehingga dapat di lanjutkan pembelajaran siklus Pada siklus 2 di lakukan 2 kali pertemuan yang di laksanakan penelitian dengan memperbaiki kesulitan yang di hadapi anak untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa anak dengan maksimal. Pada siklus 2 terjadi peningkatan perkembangan yang signifikan, pada pertemuan 1 ada 3 anak (15%) tergolong sangat baik, 15 Anak (75%) tergolong baik dan 1 Anak (5%) tergolong cukup. Pada pertemuan 2 ada 17 anak (85%) tergolong sangat baik dan 2 anak (10%) tergolong baik. Dengan demikian  penelitian dapat terjawab bahwa kegiatan metode bercakap-cakap merupakan salah satu upaya meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa anak di kelompok B Di TK IPC GAYO LUES T.A 2012/2013  Kata Kunci : Bahasa Anak, Metode Bercakap
