Abstract

This study aims to develop an Integrated Learning Model Based on Local Culture in improving the competence of Kindergarten Children in Medan City. Through Research and Development, researchers developed the Dick & Carey Learning Model Design. This research was conducted in three major stages, namely: 1) Preliminary Study; 2) Development; and 3) Validation Phase. The results of the preliminary research show that: (1) the forms and values of local culture can be integrated into learning in kindergarten; (2) Integrated learning based on local culture can be done in the classroom or outside the classroom; (3) In general, kindergarten teachers in Medan City are very weak in their understanding and skills in developing regional cultural values in learning; 5) Lack of facilities and infrastructure that supports the implementation of integrated learning based on local culture in kindergarten. 6) In general, children's mastery of regional cultural values is very weak. The Learning Design Models developed are: 1) Formulation of indicators of child development achievement; 2) Formulation of learning objectives related to local culture; 3) Development of learning materials and local cultural materials; 4) determination of the steps of learning activities; 5) the determination of media and learning resources, especially for the development of local cultural materials in learning; and 6) Development of assessment instruments.

Abstract

AbstrakThis study aims to develop case-based teaching material for PAUD seminar courses. The development of this teaching material uses the Borg & Gall model using ten stages of development that are adapted to research. Based on the results of the validity test using the Aiken V formula, it was found that the average result was 0.76, which means that media experts and material experts provide scores that tend to be consistent. However, it is necessary to improve the presentation of cases that students need to analyze. The results of the expert test ICC analysis obtained a result of 0.625 which indicated that the experts agreed in giving a value so that the results were valid. The trial was carried out on a sample of 23 students in early childhood education department with an average result of 3.69, which mean a good category so that it is suitable for use as teaching material in PAUD seminar coursesKata kunci: PAUD seminars; research and development, case method AbstractTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis kasus pada mata kuliah seminar PAUD. Pengembangan bahan ajar ini menggunakan model Borg&Gall dengan menggunakan sepuluh tahapan pengembangan yang disesuaikan dengan penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil uji validitas menggunakan formula Aiken V ditemukan hasil rerata 0,76 yang berarti bahwa ahli media dan ahli materi memberikan nilai yang cenderung konsisten, Namun perlunya perbaikan dalam penyajian kasus yang perlu dianalisis mahasiswa. Hasil analisis ICC uji ahli memperoleh hasil 0,625 yang menunjukkan bahwa para ahli sepakat dalam memberi nilai sehingga hasilnya valid. Uji coba dilakukan pada sampel 23 orang mahasiswa program studi PGPAUD dengan hasil rerata 3,69 dengan kategori baik sehingga layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar pada mata kuliah seminar PAUD. Abstract

This research was carried out with the aim of increasing the independence of children aged 5-6 years according to the Pancasila student profile using AI image media at Kindergarten-It Al-Ikhlas, Binjai City for the 2023-2024 academic year. This research is a type of classroom action research with 12 subjects, of which 6 are men and the other 6 are women. The object of this research is increasing children's independence as Pancasila students aged 5-6 years at Al-Ikhlas IT Kindergarten in Binjai City for the 2023/2024 academic year. The data collection method is carried out by observation. The data analysis technique is Descriptive Percentage. The findings in efforts to increase children's independence in cycle 1 were 70.5% in the good category, while in cycle 2 it was 83.9% in the Very Good Category. Meanwhile, the results of teacher observations in cycle 1 were 75%. The results of teacher observations in Cycle 2 were 84.4%, which is in the Very Good category. Based on the results obtained, image media can increase the independence of children aged 5-6 years according to the Pancasila student profile

Abstract

Abstract The background of the study comes from the low ability of teachers in designing scientific-based learning implementation plan (RPPH) for the Scientific and Local Culture subject and carrying out the authentic assessment for early childhood education (PAUD) students. These activities aim to assist teachers developing Weekly Implementation Plan (RPPM) and RPPH on the aforementioned subject as well as to help teachers developing the authentic assessment instruments in measuring early child development outcomes. The activities were conducted in the Ananda Kindergarten and Early Childhood Education (School Partners) in the Sub-District of Gebang at the District of Langkat from July to September 2017. The participants were teachers in the Partner School and PAUD teachers around the School of Partners, amounting 20 teachers using discussion, questioning, group work and assignment as well as the monitoring and evaluation approaches. The results of the mentoring activities showed that: 1) Most teachers were able to develop RPPM and RPPH based on Scientific and Local Culture, and only a few teachers with senior secondary education background had difficulty in preparing the RPPH according to the guidelines; 2) Most teachers experienced difficulties in developing authentic assessment instruments, 3) Teachers of PAUD were enthusiast engaging in the mentoring activities validated by their presences and activities during processes. The results of these activities recommend that: 1) Do consistent and continuous monitoring of the implementation of learning in accordance with the lesson plans that have been prepared; 2) the need for special teacher assistance in the development of authentic assessment instruments for early childhood; 3) The need for special assistance in development and preparation of media and educational game tools in accordance with the needs of early childhood. Keywords: scientific-based learning implementation plan (RPPH), Scientific and Local Culture, early childhood education (PAUD) students, Weekly Implementation Plan (RPPM), District of Langkat

Abstract

Activities in Quality Improvement of ECD Management Based on ECD Standards based on the low understanding of managers (principals and teachers) on eight PAUD Standards (Standards for Achieving Child Development, Content, Processes, Educators and Education Personnel, Assessment, Facilities and Infrastructure, Management and Financing). This activity aims to assist principals and teachers in managing PAUD based on PAUD standards. The activities carried out began with enlightenment and question and answer about the Nature of PAUD Standards, then analyzed the Instruments for PAUD Quality Mapping, and Assistance in completing the documents of each Standard. Mentoring activities were carried out from August to October 2018, which took place at PAUD Miska and PAUD Harapan Bangsa, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency. The participants of this activity were the Principal and Teachers and Education Personnel who served in the two schools totaling 10 people. Activities are carried out by means of discussion, question and answer, group work and assignments. At the end of the activity an evaluation of the process and work results of the participants was conducted, and agreed on follow-up activities from mentoring. The results of the mentoring activities concluded that: 1) Understanding of Principals and teachers and other education personnel about PAUD management Based on PAUD Standards increased; 2) Managers' lack of understanding of PAUD Standards causes a lack of realization of programs that refer to standards, lack of procurement of facilities and infrastructure, and not storing documents or letter files, certificates, photos, attendance lists and others. It is recommended that PAUD managers try to rediscover some of the physical evidence that the activities that have been carried out are in accordance with the standards, and the following day the manager must carry out the program in accordance with the PAUD Standards.Keywords: Assistance in Quality Improvement of PAUD Management, PAUD Standards.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh permainan tradisional engklek terhadap perkembangan motorik kasar anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Amir Hamzah Medan tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-eksperimen bentuk The Equivalent Time Sample Design. Sampel berjumlah 11 anak yang dipilih menggunakan teknik saturation sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan lembar observasi yang memuat deskriptor perkembangan motorik kasar dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam capaian motorik kasar anak setelah diberi perlakuan. Pada observasi awal, mayoritas anak berada dalam kategori "mulai berkembang" (MB). Setelah serangkaian perlakuan, jumlah anak dalam kategori "berkembang sangat baik" (BSB) meningkat hingga 100% pada perlakuan terakhir. Permainan engklek terbukti efektif melatih kekuatan, keseimbangan, dan kelincahan anak, sebagaimana didukung teori perkembangan motorik kasar menurut Vygotsky dan Piaget, serta penelitian sebelumnya. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa permainan tradisional engklek secara signifikan meningkatkan motorik kasar anak usia dini. Selain mendukung aspek fisik, permainan ini juga memperkaya pengalaman belajar anak dengan cara yang menyenangkan. Temuan ini merekomendasikan pengintegrasian permainan tradisional dalam pembelajaran anak usia dini untuk mendukung perkembangan holistik

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan di TK ABA 06 Medan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media flashcard terhadap kemampuan hahasa anak. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelompok B di TK ABA 06 Medan Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022 yang terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu kelas mawar sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas teratai sebagai kelas kontrol. Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif (pengujian) melalui bentuk semu, dalam gambaran Postets OnlyControl Design. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua kelas yang memiliki karakteristik yang sama, yaitu kelas B1 (Mawar) dengan menggunakan media flashcrad dan kelas B2 (Teratai) dengan menggunakan media kartu huruf. Penentuan sampel kelas dilakukan secara acak(random) denagn jumlah sampel tiap kelas sebanyak 13 anak. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan bahasa pada anak usia 5-6 tahun meningkat setelah menggunakan media flashcard. Kemampuan bahasa pada kelas eksperimen lebih meningkat daripada kemampuan bahasa di kelas kontrol. Perihal ini dapat diketahui dengan rata-rata kelompok eksperimen sebesar 3,46 sedangkan rata-rata kelompok kontrol sebesar 2,86 dengan selisih 0,6. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media flashcrad memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan bahasa anak dengan >  yaitu 6,5 > 4. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan media flashcard terhadap kemampuan bahasa anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK ABA 06 Medan Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022.

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini yang menjadi masalah merupakan kemampuan membaca anak umur 5-6 tahun yang belum berkembang secara optimal. Studi ini tujuannya guna mengetauhi “pengaruh penggunaan loose parts terhadap kemampuan membaca anak usia 5-6 Tahun di TK Tunas Muda Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Utara.” Studi ini memakai metode kuantitatif pada metode eksperimen (One Group Pretest-Postest). Populasi pada studi ini yaitu anak yang berusia 5-6 tahun di TK Tunas Muda Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Utara sebanyak14 anak, dan banyaknya sampel pada studi ini sejumlah 14 anak. Penelitian dilakukan 3 kali perlakuan. Lembar observasi digunakan sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Statistik non-parametrik, khususnya uji Wilcoxon, digunakan dalam pendekatan analisis data. Dari data perolehan analisis data memilki rata-rata skornya pada perlakukan 1 sebesar34,64 pada perlakukan 2 mendapatkan nilai rata-rata 39 lalu pada perlakuan 3 mendapatkan rata-rata skor 43. Berlandaskan analisis data dengan uji hipotesis non-parametris sehingga didapatkan skor test stasistic SPSS 27 ialah 0,001 0,003 dan 0,005. Sehingga kesimpulannya ialah “penggunaan loose parts memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan membaca pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Tunas Muda Kabupaten Labuhanbatu utara.”

Abstract

Abstrak Alat Permainan Edukatif (APE) menjadi salah satu sarana penting dalam media pembelajaran anak usia dini, namun masih banyak guru PAUD yang menghadapi keterbatasan dalam kreativitas mengembangkan dan memanfaatkannya secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, pengalaman, keterampilan, dan sikap guru PAUD Cempaka Desa Pantai Labu Pekan melalui kegiatan pendampingan pembuatan APE. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan evaluasi. Mitra sasaran terdiri atas 11 guru PAUD Cempaka Desa Pantai Labu Pekan. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata post-test dibandingkan pre-test, serta uji Wilcoxon mengonfirmasi terdapat perbedaan signifikan. Perihal ini menunjukkan bahwa pendampingan pembuatan APE efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan, pengalaman, keterampilan, dan sikap guru PAUD. Pendekatan berbasis praktik dan kolaborasi terbukti memperkuat kompetensi guru serta mendukung pembelajaran yang lebih kreatif dan sesuai kebutuhan anak usia dini. Kata kunci: pendampingan; pembuatan; alat permainan edukatif; anak usia dini. Abstract Educational Toys (APE) are an important tool in early childhood education, but many early childhood teachers still face limitations in their creativity in developing and utilizing them optimally. This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge, experience, skills, and attitudes of early childhood education teachers at Cempaka PAUD, Pantai Labu Pekan, through a mentoring program for the creation of APE. The implementation method comprises three stages: preparation, activity execution, and evaluation. The target participants consist of 11 early childhood education teachers at Cempaka PAUD, Pantai Labu Pekan. The results showed an increase in the average post-test score compared to the pre-test, and the Wilcoxon test confirmed a significant difference. This indicates that the APE creation mentoring program effectively improved the knowledge, experience, skills, and attitudes of early childhood education teachers. The practice-based and collaborative approach proved to strengthen teachers' competencies and support more creative and child-centered learning. Keywords: mentoring; creation; educational toys; early childhood.
