Abstract

The number of refugees has increased for a decade leading to seek an alternative approach to managing refugees globally. This research will explore the current management of refugees and future direction towards sustainably managing refugees. While the UNHCR has a role in particularly resettling refugees to developed countries, states also have the authority to integrate refugees with local people under the Refugee Convention in 1951. The methodology used is a quantitative study through a statistical descriptive analysis from secondary sources and literature reviews. The result shows that states are reluctant to have a new arrival of refugees into their territories, while the UNHCR currently faces difficulties in resettling refugees to third countries. As a result, refugees are waiting with uncertainty and without livelihood opportunities in transiting countries. In regards to this issue, it seems necessary to have a capacity building and market intervention for the future direction of sustainable refugee management through a partnership with private sectors under the SDGs and other global agenda. These will equip refugees with skill development to enhance self-reliance as well as labor opportunities entering the future market places.

Abstract

Minuman tradisional cincau hujau biasanya disuguhkan dalam bentuk pilihan campuran, yaitu cincau-perasan buah jeruk nipis dan cincau-santan kelapa. Perbedaan sifat fisiko kimia dan aktivitas farmakologi dari masing-masingnya yang berbeda, sangat berpotensi untuk saling berinteraksi, yang dapat meningkatkan, mengurangkan, atau bahkan meniadakan efek farmakologi yang dimiliki oleh masing-masingnya. Penelitan ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian kombinasi ekstrak daun cincau hijau tersebut terhadap profil lipid. Hewan yang digunakan adalah  mencit putih jantan yang dibagi menjadi 12 kelompok yaitu kontrol positif, kontrol negatif, pembanding (simvastatin), 3 kelompok variasi dosis ekstrak cincau hijau tunggal (60; 120; dan 240 mg/kgBB), 3 kelompok kombinasi daun cincau hijau dosis 120 mg/kgBB dengan 3 variasi dosis santan kelapa (2,5; 5; 10 mL/kgBB), dan 3 kelompok kombinasi daun cincau hijau dosis 120 mg/kgBB dengan 3 variasi dosis perasan buah jeruk nipis  (1; 2; 4 mL/kgBB). Hewan diinduksi dengan MLT+PTU. Pemeriksaan kadar kolesterol total, trigliserida dan HDL dilakukan pada hari ke 0, 15, 23. Hasil menunjukan pemberian kombinasi ekstrak daun cincau hijau-santan kelapa dan kombinasi ekstrak daun cincau hijau–perasan buah jeruk nipis dapat menurunkankan kadar kolesterol total dan trigliserida serta meningkatkan kadar HDL secara signifikan (p < 0,05). Semakin besar pemberian dosis santan kelapa semakin kecil pengaruh yang terjadi. Sebaliknya, semakin besar pemberian dosis perasan buah jeruk nipis semakin besar pengaruh yang terjadi. Sementara itu, pada kedua jenis kombinasi, semakin lama durasi pemberian menunjukkan peningkat pada pengaruh yang terjadi.

Abstract

Growth, cognitive development, and children's health are all impacted by Stunting (WHO, 2020).  Maternal education, socioeconomic status, and eating habits can all contribute to Stunting (UNICEF, 2020).  The prevalence of Stunting in Indonesia was 24.4%; in Bekasi Regency, it was 21.5% in 2021 and dropped to 13.8% in 2023 (Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, 2023).  The purpose of this study is to examine the connection between the frequency of Stunting at Sentra Medika Cikarang Hospital in Bekasi Regency and maternal traits and cultural toddler feeding practices.  From a population of 75 people and sampling using purposive sampling technique, 43 mothers with stunted children were obtained. Data was collected through a structured questionnaire and processed using the chi-square test to analyze the relationship between variables. The results of the study showed that there was a significant relationship between maternal characteristics, such as education level and socioeconomic status, with the incidence of Stunting (p = 0.013). In addition, the culture of feeding patterns was also related to the incidence of Stunting (p = 0.024). Maternal characteristics and culture of feeding patterns play a role in the incidence of Stunting. Therefore, education regarding feeding patterns needs to be improved to prevent Stunting.
