Abstract

EOC (Employee Organizational Commitment) regarded as work attitude lately hasalways been a strategic issue and is believed to be something essential that must be won by anyorganization for it influences behaviors that lead an organization to functioning effectively.Hipothetically, the EOC is determined by QWL (Quality of Work Life). This research was aimedat finding out the most dominant determinants of EOC in state-owned banks in Jakarta. Thesewould then serve as solution variables to formulating strategy in winning the EOC. This appliedexplanatory research used the hypothetico-deductive method and path analysis. Two hundredand forty-nine respondents participated in this study. All of the hypotheses were empericallysupported and this meant the QWL subvariables have jointly influenced the EOC. Theinfluencing QWL subvariables serving as solution variables were financial compensation,advancement opportunities and job characteristics. The strategies and operations based on thesesolution variables had been formulated to winning the EOC.Keywords : EOC, QWL, financial compensation, job characteristics, advancement opportunities

Abstract

This study examines students’ perceptions and brand image of MedRep as the predictors of purchase intentions for the MedRep profession. To examine the proposed research model, 100 samples are collected. Multiple regressions are used to test the hypotheses. There are mixed results in relation to the tested relationships. Brand image have a significant impact on student purchase intention for the MedRep profession. Surprisingly, analysis using the student sample indicated that students’ perception has no significant impact on student purchase intention for the MedRep profession.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the type of organizational culture and leadership style of principals who practiced in groups of high-performing schools and groups of low-performing schools, especially private schools in Jakarta region. Organizational culture is a philosophy, and pointed out four characteristics the organizational culture, among others: clan, adhocracy, hierarchy, and market, which binds members of the organization as a whole in order to achieve both individual and organizational goals. Furthermore, leadership style is a pattern of behavior designed to integrate individual interests with the organizational ones, among others: autocratic style, pseudo-democratic, laissez-faire, and democratic leadership style. This study used descriptive analysis with nonparametric statistical Chi-Square (?2). The samples of data were taken using an instrument of questionnaires on 50 school principals/vice principal, using judgmental-convinience sampling technique. The analysis result showed that there were significant differences in organizational cultures that practiced at the group of high-performing schools with the group of low-performing schools. This study also found that there are no significant differences in leadership styles practiced in the groups of high-performance and low-performing schools.

Abstract

This research is related to the factors affecting the teacher’s performance in Mahanaim School. This research is aimed to: 1) investigating the effect of Principal’s Role toward theperformance of Mahanaim school’s teachers, 2) investigating the effect of work motivation toward the performance of Mahanaim school’s teachers, and 3) investigating the effect ofPrincipal’s Role toward the work motivation of Mahanaim School’s teachers. The methodused is causality method. The number of population used is 109 teachers from MahanaimSchool (Kindegarten, Elementary, Junior, Senior and Vocational High School). The data collected in this research is primarily by questionnaires. The data is analyzed with pathanalysis model. The research findings shows that simultaneously components of Principal’s Role (X1) and work motivation (X2) affect significantly to the performance of Mahanaim School’s Teachers (Y) in which R=0,504 and R square= 0,341. The most dominant factor toward the performance of Mahanaim School’s Teachers is the component of work motivation.
