Abstract

Metalworking is among the arts that have been considered for its unique features throughout history.  Perhaps one of the most important reasons for using it a lot is its stamina and more durability than other materials.  Another thing to consider about this is technology and the use of metals, which Iran has a valuable background in this regard. Lorestan bronze are a prominent example of this.  One of the most important periods in the use of metals is the Sassanid era, during which the period of art also flourishes.  Sassanid art can be considered an important part of Iran and even the world.  This art period is a bridge between pre-Islamic and post-Islamic periods in Iran.  During the Sassanid Empire in Iran, many silver dishes have been made in Iran, some of which has still been remained.  Many of these containers are made of precious metals to symbolize strength and credibility.  One of the most important drawings used in these containers is the picture of hunting and its role and related topics.  Hunting in the pre-Islamic era was one of the best works and honors of the kings, because one more thing in Sassanid art is the attempt to show the holiness and authority of the kings of this era; which has been shown in the use of designs such as the roundabout of the king's head or magnifying the king's image.  In this paper, by presenting examples of silver Plates that includes the role of hunting of kings, it has been tried to introduce and examine these cases.

Abstract

Laterite is one of the most widespread raw materials, especially in Madagascar. Its valorization as a building material would help to solve many socio-economic problems in Madagascar as well as in Africa. The use of this type of material fits well within the framework of high environmental quality, since the process uses an abundant material that does not require too much energy for its manufacture because it is dried in the open air. The aim of this work was to stabilize the laterite with cassava starch. The valorization of the latter would contribute to the development of new building materials. The study focuses on the mechanical characterization of specimens made with Vontovorona laterite in different proportions, which goes hand in hand with the determination of the physico-chemical parameters of the starch. To make specimens, we used techniques such as extraction, sieving, heating, laterite-stabilizing dosage, mixing, rotting, moulding, clamping, demoulding, drying. The results obtained show that the best stabilizing material is obtained if 15% of starch is mix to lateritic soil. The compressive strength in the dry state of the test specimens (samples) gave a significantly interesting result with a value of 54.8 bars (85% laterite with 15% starch). Thus the use of starch as a stabilizer in construction gave satisfactory results. This eco-friendly process, simple in its steps and practice, should be popularized among artisanal brick makers. Thus, replacing proportions of the Portland cement in soil stabilization with Cassava starch will reduce the overall environmental impact of the stabilization process.

Abstract

COVID-19 has affected 213 countries around the world, killing 711,313 and infecting around 19 million by August 06, 2020 (worldometer.info). Bangladesh, a South Asian low-middle-income economy, has experienced a demographic and epidemiological transition with rapid urbanization and a gradual increase in life expectancy. It is the seventh most populous country in the world and population of the country is expected to be nearly double by 2050. The increasing burden of communicable diseases in Bangladesh can be attributable to rapid urbanization and nearly 50% of all slum dwellers of the country live in Dhaka division. In 2017, National Rapid Response Team of IEDCR investigated 26 incidents of disease outbreak. Until August 6th, death reported 3,267 and 246,674 got infected in this country. The joint survey of the Power and Participation Research Centre and BRAC Institute of Governance and Development reveals that per capita daily income of urban slum and rural poor drops by 80% due to present countrywide shutdown enforced by the government to halt the spread of Covid-19. 40%-50% of these population took loans to meet the daily expenses. However, the country has just 127,000 hospital beds, 91,000 of them in government-run hospitals. Researchers say, the country’s economy is losing BDT 33 billion every day from its service and agriculture sectors during the nationwide shutdown.

Abstract

Publishing is one of the supporting components in the process of the emergence of the history of the world of print media in the world and in Indonesia in particular. In general, publishing is a business entity that bridges the ideas of an author of fiction and non-fiction books so that the publisher can publish it to the general public, both those who already know him and those who do not know him. This study aims to see the effect of products, prices, promotions and processes on the purchase of Islamic books at PT. Grafindo King. The research was conducted with a quantitative approach and used multiple regression analysis with a questionnaire instrument given to 100 respondents. The results showed that partially and simultaneously product prices, promotions and processes significantly influence the purchase of books at PT. Grafindo King. With a level of determination the value of the multiple correlation coefficient of 0.903 is positive, meaning that the influence of product, price, promotion, and process variables on purchases is very strong, or 90.3% of the dependent variable can be influenced by the independent variable, while 0.7% is influenced by other variables not

Performance is the work accomplished by an individual in doing the work commanded based on abilities and experience. Islam teaches that work must be done not only to fulfill the needs of the world but also as a means of worshiping Allah SWT. This research aims to analyze the effect of competence, religiosity, and work motivation on the performance of fishermen in Sei Apung Jaya village with work ethic as an intervening variable. The study is quantitive with a survey approach of 97 respondents. The data analysis method used is path analysis with the SPSS version 20 program. The results of the study found that competence and work motivation had a significant effect on work ethic. Religiosity has no effect on work ethic. Competence, work motivation, and work ethic have a significant effect on performance. Religiosity has no effect on performance. Competence, religiosity, and work motivation have no effect on performance through work ethic as an intervening variable.

Abstract

Export is the process of transporting goods from one country to another legally and export is very important in forming a country’s balance of payments. The purpose of this study was to determine whether gross domestic product, exchange rate, and inflation affect agricultural exports in North Sumatra. This study uses a quantitative approach. Quantitative research is research that emphasizes the analysis of numerical data (numbers) that are processed using statistical methods. The method used in this research is descriptive and verification method. From the research results it is known that the probability of the firm value variable is 0.002816 <0.05, and the F-Statistics value is 6.800019 > 2.64. Based on the results of the simultaneous test it can be seen that the Regional Gross Domestic Product (X1), Exchange Rate (X2), and Inflation (X3) have a positive and significant effect on Regional Exports of North Sumatra together. The R2 value is 0.2619 or 26.19%. This shows that the variables of Regional Gross Domestic Product, Exchange Rate and Inflation can only explain the regional export variable of only 24.90%. While the remaining 75.10% is explained by other variables outside the regression model in this study.
