Abstract

The vernacular house is a heritage building that still exists which is usually inhabited for generations. Some people in Indonesia still live in vernacular houses, one of which is in Jabungan Village, Semarang City. The forms and architectural elements that make up the vernacular house are not changed much, as if it were an artefact in the house. This can be explored more deeply about the meaning or idea of a vernacular house, it requires research based on levels of reality. The five levels of reality are empirical reality, symbolic reality, meaning reality, idea reality, and value reality/ worldview. The approach to be carried out is by studying literature and field studies by means of documentation and interviews. The conclusions obtained were in the form of a finding of the level of reality on the artefacts of a vernacular house and architectural elements that exist in Jabungan Village, Semarang City.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the phoneme configuration which is located in the ultima position within the lexicon of traditional household appliances. The phoneme configuration has nuances that mean local wisdom and social intelligence of Javanese ancestors. This type of research is descriptive-qualitative. The research locus is in Pati regency. Data collection methods used were observation and in-depth interviews. The data analysis method used is the distributional method: which is supported by the sorting and comparison techniques. The padan method is used to analyze lexical semantic elements. The findings of the research show that the configuration of the phoneme lexicon of traditional household appliances in the ultima position has a semantic meaning, a philosophical value and a non-arbiteric meaning. The philosophical value is inherent in the configuration of the phoneme lexicon in the ultima position. Non-arbiter forms occur due to messages attached to phoneme configurations in the lexicon.Keywords: Configuration; household appliances; lexicon; phonemes; traditional.IntisariPenelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konfigurasi fonem posisi ultima pada leksikon peralatan rumah tangga tradisional. Konfigurasi fonem memiliki nuansa arti yang mencerminkan kearifan local dan kecerdasan sosial leluhur Jawa. Jenis penelitian deskriptif-kualitatif. Lokus penelitian di wilayah Kabupaten Pati. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan observasi  dan wawancara mendalam. Metode analisis data memanfaatkan metode agih dengan teknik pilah dan teknik banding. Metode padan dimanfaatkan untuk menganalisis unsur semantik leksikal. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konfigurasi fonem yang tersusun dalam leksikon peralatan rumah tangga tradisional memiliki tautan arti semedan makna yang bersifat filosofis dan bersifat non-arbiter.  Nilai filosofis melekat konfigurasi urutan fonem leksikon pada posisi ultima. Bentuk nonarbiter terjadi akibat pesan yang melekat pada konfigurasi fonem dalam leksikon.Kata kunci: Fonem;  konfigurasi; leksikon; peralatan rumah tangga; tradisional

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find the direction of movement and change of lexicon which is located in Javanese enclave, Carita, Banten. Methods of data collection using observation and interview methods: tapping techniques, fishing techniques, recording techniques, and tekik notes. The method of analysis used is reconstruction method and tree root direction method The research findings that the Java enclave region, Carita, in the Sundanese language area, still holds many relics and original lexicons.The relics lexicon form is a lexicon that is derived directly from the ancient Javanese language without any slight change, either form or meaning.The original form of lexicon is a lexicon that changes at the time of inheritance. Changes that occur in the lexicon can be explained through linguistic rules.The direction of the movement of the relics and the original form of the Javanese dialect of Carita has a tendency of vertical direction, ie the direct inheritance direction of the ancient Javanese language.The direction of the movement of innovative shape changes tends to be horizontal, ie the direction of change that adapts the rules of Sundanese and Malay.

Abstract

This study is aimed to describe the strength of Javanese women in regulating the rhythms of family life. Strength in the form of tenacity and persistence of Javanese women is captured on the symbol of traditional equipment. The symbol of this equipment is stored in the traditional Javanese kitchen. This symbol contains components of material, function, and Javanese philosophy. The method of the research was descriptive qualitative, raising the phenomena of traditional equipment in the life of Javanese women. The method of data collection was by observation, in-depth interviews and demonstration activities. The analytical method used in this research was to decompose the components of the lingual units which are aligned on the standard equipment. The method used to explain the menaning was by the semantic equivalent and analogy.The findings of the research are the novelty of the method, namely the method of interpreting components based on semantic analogies. It was found the strength of Javanese female characters in traditional equipment symbols through understanding concepts and referents. The analysis of the semantic role is able to reveal the relationships of the concepts of the noble values of Javanese culture in the functions of traditional equipment.
