Abstract

Honey is the natural sweet substance produced by honey bees from the nectar of flowers plants or other parts of plants. Honey is one of the important food sources for human nutrition because it contains 82.3% carbohydrate which is much higher than other livestock products. In addition to sugar, honey also contains mineral salts, proteins, and vitamins. Honey can be broken naturally (without human treatment) if the honey has been fermented. Yeast fermentation occurs high water content (23-30%). Safe from fermented honey water content is usually 16%-21%, or ideal levels of 16-20%. The decrease in moisture content (MC) is one of the most important steps in the processing of agricultural products. The decrease in MC can be done by drying.  Principally, the drying can be done in various ways, including the provision of heat to the material drying by spraying liquid materials in high-temperature hot room is a way decreased the water content by increasing the surface area of the material that is in contact with the hot air. Drying honey with fogging (spraying) is an alternative way, in addition to other means such as drying by putting honey in the refrigerator in this case in a room air conditioner or refrigerator. The purpose of the study is the characterization test system temperature spraying in the heat chamber, the water content of honey characterization test on the spraying system in a hot room.The treatment given to the wild honey is honey squirts hot room temperature within a few levels, the levels observed were honey (%) and temperature of honey after drying. From the observations it can be seen that, the higher the lamp power given the higher heat generated. Tools have been able to raise the level of the honey, the higher the heating temperature higher levels of honey content  produced. Temperature honey received lower than a given heating temperature. Keywords: honey, spraying, hot room

Abstract

The objectives of this research were designed an automatic sprinkler system wake-based PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and tested its performance. The method created/designed a sprinkler system using a pump spray gun nozzle which the pump work automatically controlled using a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) (programmed according to the desired watering time (06:00 to 09:00 and 15:00 to 18:00)) and the system will OFF when the current effective watering daily rainfall exceeds a predetermined threshold. As for the sensor to be able to turn off the pump working as a conductor used 2 pieces detection limit of the daily effective rainfall that is placed on a measuring cup in ombrometer. Results of sprinkler irrigation system design of PLC-based automated bulk may work in settings, bulk irrigation system working width of 5.5 m, and the test results is relatively uniform water distribution. Abstract

The process of draining oil is one of the processes that can affect the oil content of the frying or chips. The oil that is left in a lot of fried food or chips when stored for a long time will cause a rancid smell. Meanwhile, if consumed directly, it will affect the health of consumers because of high cholesterol levels. Most people do not know the consequences that occur if they consume excess oil. People who already know cannot do anything because the oil draining machines on the market are still quite expensive and their working capacity is limited. In the previous research, a draining machine with a tube system with a diameter of 40 cm and a height of 22.2 cm was made with an rpm of 517. Within 5 minutes this system reduce oil content from 27% to 24,65% . The data shown in strightline gaphic trend that mean the reduction oil conten is not optimal yet . For this reason, this research will be redesigned by extending the spinner axis and adding the bearings to 2 units, it is hoped that this addition will stabilize the spinner rotation, the rotation can be increased and the ability to reduce oil content increases. extending the drain axis and increasing the position of the bearing to 2, the draining machine has been able to function properly until 967 rpm rotation, from the test results for draining the cassava chip oil, within 5 minutes, the slicer with a rotation of 598 rpm can reduce 2.29%, 727 rpm 2.93%, and 967 rpm 4.27% rotation.
