Abstract

Based on the forage potential of livestock in Subang Regency in groups with forage potential livestock feed is facilitated by integrated animal feed processing equipment so that the economic value of anima feed at the farmer level will be more than complete animal feed.Complete animal feed can be an agricultural business opportunity to provide added value from animal feed. Therefore it is necessary to conduct a business feasibility analysis in terms of the financial aspects of the business of complete animal feed, whose production uses mechanization. This study aims to determine the financial analysis of the complete animal feed business, which uses mechanization with a scale of livestock groups in Subang Regency. This research was conducted in Subang Regency from January to March 2019. The research method used in this study was by directly making complete animal feed products using mechanization tools and calculating the financial aspects of the business. Break Even Point is 1200 packs, Net Present Value is positive or greater than zero, Internal Rate of Return is greater than MARR value and actual interest rate, Production value is more than Rp. 100,000,000 or net value of more than Rp. 60,000,000, - / group / year, compared with the value of basic products with a production value of Rp. 22,000,000, - or the net income value is only Rp. 11,000,000 / year. The 2.5 year payback period does not exceed the planned business period. B/C Ratio 1.3 whose value is greater than 1. So that from a financial standpoint a complete animal feed business that uses tools or mechanization is feasible to run. Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a tropical climate that has two seasons, namely the dry season and the rainy season. In the dry season, sun drying is the most widely used method for agricultural products. In the rainy season, people who open businesses in the food processing sector have difficulty predicting uncertain weather. The community needs solar thermal energy to dry food ingredients in the form of opak, tubers, fruits, etc. In the rainy season, the value of production has decreased. This study aims to create a drying machine that can help people to dry various types of food and fruit products. The research was carried out in several stages, namely field observation, literature study, design, manufacturing, and performance testing. The study states that: (1) the manufacturing process of electrical machine dryer was done in three stages: the initial stage, advanced stage, and the final stage. (2) the trial of an electrical dryer machine was used to dry opak and banana. Data obtained in the form of opak before drying weighs 3.4 ounces and after drying to 2.2 ounces. Whereas the banana before drying weighs 7.3 ounces and after drying to 4.5 ounces; (3) electrical dryer machine is very helpful in the process of drying food processed products in Subang Regency.

Abstract

This research is the development of a generator that can be on/off automatically based on the existence of commercial power. Genset used in the study is the generator of household scale premium gasoline. In particular, this study aims to make switching system for two generators with timer settings to prevent loss of power. Testing the performance of the system is made to ensure that the system is functioning properly. Specification design tool created an amalgamation of two generators which can perform on/off according to a predetermined time. After the generator 1 operating for 4 hours, then automatically generator set 2 will live. About 10 seconds since the first 2 live generator, the generator 1 is still in operation, then the load will be transferred to the generator 2. With this delay system, then nothing happens lost power. This mechanism will be repeated after 4 hours of generator 2 operates. With this system, the availability of electrical power would continue as needed. Keywords: automatic transfer switch, generator set

Abstract

Until recently, generator available in the market, generally gasoline or LPG. Conversion of gasoline to fuel bio-ethanol requires some adjustments. The research conducted was  a further development of research Nurjan Didik Purwanto in 2011. The research was focused on adjustment of airand fuel ratio after the fuel in the generator set was replaced with bioethanol. Bioethanol has a higher octane rating than gasoline, but it has a lower calorific value than petrol. With this condition, it is necessary to attempt to increase the ratio of air and fuel to be more "fat " to regulate the entry of air through the carburetor. Settings ratio of fuel and air is done by adjusting the carburetor choke openings. This setting restores the stability of the engine, the same as using premium gasoline. This study primarily aims to expand the use of renewable energy, especially for the implementation of electric power for households. The results of this research  has been successfully realized by using a Timer Switch AC, 12 Volt DC timer switch, solenoid valve (solenoid valve), and actuators. Aperture choke1/3 on the use of bio-ethanol fuel produces almost simillar to  the engine speed compare to it when  using gasoline. Fuel consumption of bioethanol is 40% more than the use of  gasoline. Keywords: choke, gasoline, bio ethanol

Abstract

The process of draining oil is one of the processes that can affect the oil content of the frying or chips. The oil that is left in a lot of fried food or chips when stored for a long time will cause a rancid smell. Meanwhile, if consumed directly, it will affect the health of consumers because of high cholesterol levels. Most people do not know the consequences that occur if they consume excess oil. People who already know cannot do anything because the oil draining machines on the market are still quite expensive and their working capacity is limited. In the previous research, a draining machine with a tube system with a diameter of 40 cm and a height of 22.2 cm was made with an rpm of 517. Within 5 minutes this system reduce oil content from 27% to 24,65% . The data shown in strightline gaphic trend that mean the reduction oil conten is not optimal yet . For this reason, this research will be redesigned by extending the spinner axis and adding the bearings to 2 units, it is hoped that this addition will stabilize the spinner rotation, the rotation can be increased and the ability to reduce oil content increases. extending the drain axis and increasing the position of the bearing to 2, the draining machine has been able to function properly until 967 rpm rotation, from the test results for draining the cassava chip oil, within 5 minutes, the slicer with a rotation of 598 rpm can reduce 2.29%, 727 rpm 2.93%, and 967 rpm 4.27% rotation.

Abstract

Hydroponics production of spinach required adequate plant nutrition such as AB mix solution. However due to its high price, an alternative source of nutrition such as liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from rice washing water and coconut water has the potential to be the solution. The purpose of the final project was to determine the effect of adding liquid organic fertilizer of rice washing water and coconut water on the growth of spinach and to find the best concentration of liquid organic fertilizer. LOF physical characteristics (color, aroma, and pH) and their addition to the growth of spinach (plant height, number of leaves, measurement of nutrient concentration, fresh weight, and dry weight) were observed. This final project used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. (P0: positive control (AB mix) 1%, P1: negative control (water), P2: 2%, P3: 4%, and P4: 6%). was analyzed ANOVA with a 5% level followed by DMRT. The results of liquid organic fertilizer of rice washing water and coconut water had Irish coffee color, distinctive aroma of Tape, and pH 4.6. The addition of LOF at 2% (P2) gave better results than P1 and gave significantly different results to plant height (16.17 cm), the number of leaves (9 strands), nutrient concentration (315 ppm), fresh weight (6.44 g), and dry weight (0.90 g).

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the type of floor in the composting process of leaf wastes. The waste consisted of cacao leaves (Theobroma cacao L.), rubberwood leaves (Hevea brasiliensis), teak leaves (Tectona grandis L.f), matoa or Fijian longan leaves (Pometia pinnata), durian leaves (Durio zibethinus), and grass. The research was conducted by composting the leaf mixtures in a composting box sizing 220 cm in length, 180 cm in width, and 100 cm in height. A long box was partitioned by using plastic tarpaulin into four boxes for different floors, namely cement, soil, tarpaulin, and rice husks. A mixture of leaves of 127 kg to 176 kg was introduced in each box and was composted for 145 days. Variables observed were temperature, the height of heap, the mass of material (initial and final), C/N ratio, NPK contents, compost color, odor, pH, and moisture content. The results showed that compost quality fulfilled Indonesian National Standard (SNI 19-7030-2004) regardless of the floor types. However, the type of floors affected the compost process and yield. The composting process with tarpaulin-layered or husk-layered floors produced better compost in terms of N, P, C/N ratio, and color as compared to those resulting from cemented or barely soil floors.
