Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of monetary policy shocks in Indonesia over time using the Time-Varying Vector Autoregression (TV-VAR) approach. The main focus is to identify the effectiveness of monetary policy transmission channels, particularly the interest rate and credit channels. The analysis reveals that the effects of monetary policy shocks are dynamic and have evolved over time. The transmission of monetary policy through the interest rate channel appears to be more effective in influencing macroeconomic variables, especially in curbing inflation and economic growth. In contrast, the credit channel exhibits a relatively weak and insignificant response, indicating that the role of banking intermediation in supporting economic growth remains suboptimal. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening and optimizing the interest rate transmission mechanism as the primary instrument for conveying the monetary policy stance, particularly in maintaining price stability.

Abstract

This research aims to determine and analyze the impact of natural disasters on inflation in Indonesia. This research uses secondary data from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in the form of panel data in 32 provinces in Indonesia. The dependent variable in this research is the inflation rate in each province in Indonesia. The independent variables of this research are the frequency of disasters, the level of damage due to disasters, and supply disruptions. As control variables, this research uses Realized Provincial Government Expenditures and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) Per Capita. This research analysis method uses panel data with a Random Effect Model (REM) approach. The main focus in this research is hydrometeorological disasters, because this type of disaster dominates natural disasters in Indonesia during the research period. The research results concluded that the frequency of disasters in the previous year (disaster frequency lag) had a significant effect on inflation in Indonesia. According to the types of disasters, only flood disasters have a positive and significant effect on inflation in Indonesia. Keywords : Inflation, Supply Disruptions, Disaster Frequency, APBD, GRDP Per Capita

Abstract

Social justice is a matter of equality of opportunity that aims to establish a fair relationship between individuals and society. Interest is one factor that has an impact on social justice. The effect of interest on social justice is analyzed in the context of income distribution inequality. Income distribution inequality in developing countries tends to be large, indicating the high inequality that occurs. This study aims to analyze the impact of real interest rates on income distribution inequality in 64 developing countries in 2010-2019. Based on the type of data and the form of equation, this study uses Dynamic Panel Data analysis method with Generalized Method of Moment approach. This research is analyzed using System General Method of Moment (SYS GMM) two step estimator. The results show that real interest rates affect income distribution inequality. A low real interest rate will increase income distribution inequality. This is because high-income households earn most of their income from assets that are more vulnerable to interest rates than wages.
