Abstract

The  research  has  conducted  the  formulation  and  Effectiveness  Test  Ethanol Extract Antioxidant Cream Wood Java cortex (Lannea Coromandelica hout Merr) by DPPH method. This study aims to determine the concentration of the extract java wood (Lannea Coromandelica hout Merr) is effective as an antioxidant for cream formula. Formula cream tested the effectiveness of antioxidants with DPPH. Ethanol extract of the wood cortex java cream formulated in dosage forms by using various concentration of extract 0.03%, 0.3%, 3%. Comparative antioxidant is vitamin C used at a concentration of 0.05%. The test results showed that all the cream formulation has antioxidant activity. Formula cream timber cortex extract Java (Lannea coromandelica Hout  Merr)  showed  antioxidant  activity  is  the  most  effective  formula  containing extracts of 3% with the percent inhibition of 55.39% compared with the creamy formula of vitamin C with the percent inhibition of 53.76%.

Abstract

Formulation and characterization of chitosan-alginate crosslinked with sodium tripolyphosphate as coating agents acyclovir nanocapsule purposed to determine how the comparison the coating of chitosan and sodium alginate crosslinked with sodium tripolyphosphate produce the best nanocapsule characteristics based on morphological observations and encapsulation efficiency. Nanocapsule formulation by the ionic gelation method by using chitosan concentrates variation on formula A, B, and C in succession 1.5%, 1.75%, and 2%, sodium alginate 0.5%, 0.625%, and 0.75% with stable concentration of sodium tripolyphosphate is 5%. Nanocapsule was measured using UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 297 nm with encapsulation efficiency obtained from the formula A, B and C, respectively for 58.5%; 87.25% and 55.25%. Observation of the shape and size of nanocapsule performed using SEM. Formula B with concentration of chitosan 1.75%, sodium alginate 0.625% and sodium tripolyphosphate 5% has the best characteristics with the encapsulation efficiency 87.25%, that the smallest particle size was 200 nm and the largest particle size was 4500 nm.

Abstract

It has done research on percutaneous penetration test ethosome ketoprofen in vitro by variations in dosage forms a gel base. This study aims to determine the effect of the type of base gel penetration ability ethosome ketoprofen gel in vitro to produce a good flux. Ethosome ketoprofen gel prepared in dosage forms using two different types of bases, namely using hydrophilic gel base (formula 1) and lipophilic gel base (formula 2). Percutaneous penetration test performed by using Franz diffusion cells with human skin membranes (human cadaver skin) as a diffusion membrane. Ketoprofen assay that penetrate across the skin done for 12 hours. Receptor compartment fluid consisted of phosphate buffer solution pH 7.4, footage was analyzed using UV-Vis spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 308 nm. The test results showed that ketoprofen across the membrane to the formula 1 as 9701.062 μg.cm-2 with 14.10 μg.cm-2.menit-1 speed across the membrane (r=0.995), and the formula 2 as 1209.766 mg.cm-2 with 1,727 μg.cm-2.menit-1 speed across the membrane (r=0.991). Of the two types of base gel is used, it is known that by using a hydrophilic gel base has the ability to penetrate the best drug. It can be concluded that the formulation of ketoprofen gel ethosome can be used transdermally.
