Abstract

This study aims to reveal the value of spiritual capital in the recovery phase for tsunami survivors in Sumberjaya, Pandeglang, Banten, Indonesia. The research location was chosen because it is prone to tsunamis and earthquakes. Moreover, the survivors living in refugee camps faced double disasters, the post-Pandeglang tsunami in 2018 and Covid-19 in early 2020, while still living in temporary shelter locations that year. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collection technique used in-depth interviews, documentation, and literature study. The novelty of this research is to raise the issue of post-disaster spiritual capital in Pandeglang, which is still rarely discussed. This study concludes that there is an understanding that economic recovery and mental recovery are essential for citizens, the existence of antecedent values and humility shape the willingness and desire to recover, and forgetting the past is a turning point to recover from previous good memories of a tsunami.

In carrying out its activities, human service organizations need funding for the implementation of planned programs and develop and enlarge the scale of the organization. Currently, there are many fundraising strategies that can be carried out by human service organizations, one of the strategies that can be carried out by humanitarian organizations is to form a prospective business, while the business is carried out through capital participation in a limited liability company. Legally, capital participation in this limited liability company is legalized for human service organizations with the legality of the foundation, even it is regulated directly in the provisions of the law on foundations. The profits obtained can be a source of permanent funding for the organization, so that human service organizations can be independent and survive and meet all organizational needs. However, fundraising strategies by forming businesses like this are not very popular, generally human service organizations still use conventional fundraising patterns, which fully rely on the generosity of donors to meet the needs of the organization.

Abstract

The National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN) aims to achieve a poverty rate of 0% by 2045. However, the poverty rate in Indonesia has not demonstrated a significant decline, particularly in coastal areas such as East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The poverty rate among traditional fishermen in NTT remains disproportionately high compared to the region's abundant marine resources. Various stakeholders have implemented empowerment programs, but their sustainability and effectiveness are limited, primarily due to inadequate mentoring. In response, the Baitul Maal PLN Foundation (YBM PLN) initiated the Desa Cahaya program to empower the Tuna MSME Group "Selera Katong" in Oesapa Village, Kelapa Lima District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This study employs a qualitative research approach, utilizing a descriptive research design, with data collection conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that the assistance provided to the Tuna Fish MSME group "Selera Katong" is comprehensive, encompassing counseling and training activities related to the production process, as well as marketing support. The assistance aligns with the theoretical framework and stages of empowerment.
