Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of compost on land mined gold and knowing which one is the best type of compost to the early growth of the plant jackfruit. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial with 2 faktoral namely Factor A: types of compost with three levels while the B factors and three levels of fertilization and repeated 3 times so have 27 pot experiment. The results composting on mined land can improve soil chemical properties in this case the addition of the nutrients N, P, K and C-organic. Nutrient content of compost can be seen that the highest N content contained in compostable materials made of peanuts is 0.8%. While the highest available P in compost bins gamal is 16.79 ppm, the highest available K in compost market is 55.3 ppm and C-gamal organic compost is the highest at 9.11%. Jackfruit plant growth height and number of leaves both the best in the mined soil compost bins given market.

Abstract

Dumoga, one of some regions of Bolaang Mongondow Regency, is a central region of rice production and so has the most important role in fulfilling the effort of people’s food needs. The research aimed to know the content of nutrients of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Kalium in the paddy fields area of Mopuya Village of North Dumoga Sub-district of Bolaang Mongondow Regency. Analysis of soil samples in the field used Paddy Fields Test Tool (PFTT). The research was conducted for six months from March 2022 to September 2022. The method was Survey Method by sampling soil technique in compositing the samples (whether systematically, or randomized), in which the soil samples were taken on three kinds of soil conditions, i.e.: soil ready to cultivate, the soil one month after planting, and soil after harvesting. Results showed the analysis of N content of soil ready to cultivate, soil one month after planting, and soil after harvesting were low to medium (0.16% – 0.23%). The content of P-available in the soil of ready to cultivate, soil one month after planting, and soil after harvesting were very low to low (8 – 15 ppm). The content of K-available in the soil ready to cultivate, the soil one month after planting, and the soil after harvesting were low to medium (26 – 40 ppm). Abstract

Abstract

Palm sap, the primary raw material for palm sugar and other derivative products, often faces quality issues due to the presence of solid particles, dirt, and microorganisms that accelerate fermentation and spoilage. This study aimed to design and construct a stainless steel filtration device based on the Buchner method to enhance the cleanliness and quality of palm sap. The filtration system employs a vacuum mechanism to expedite the separation of solid impurities, improving efficiency over conventional gravity methods. Laboratory-scale testing evaluated filtration capacity, clarity, and process time efficiency. Results demonstrated that the device significantly increased sap clarity while reducing filtration time. Additionally, the stainless steel construction proved easy to clean and durable for repeated use. This innovation benefits traditional Minahasa farmers in North Sulawesi, enabling them to produce higher-quality palm sugar. The filtration process effectively reduced dust and water content while increasing sugar concentration to 21.3 Brix without requiring extensive cooking. The use of the Buchner method and SS304 stainless steel construction ensures consistent filtration quality, offering a practical solution to improve palm sap processing and enhance farmers' incomes.
