Abstract

Penggunaan sepeda motor lama/jadul di Indonesia saat ini masih tinggi. Adanya kebijakan pengurangan BBM bersubsidi oleh pemerintah menciptakan masalah baru, salah satunya berdampak pada engine-engine yang memiliki kompresi rendah. Penggunaan pertalite/premium pada motor jadul menyebabkan pembakaran yang kurang sempurna, sehingga mempersingkat usia pakai kendaraan.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari solusi permasalahan tersebut dengan cara menyesuaikan konfigurasi engine motor lama dengan karakteristik BBM pertalite/pertamax. Permasalahan ini dapat ditemukan dengan meneliti satu sampel motor lama yang memiliki kompresi 8,8: 1 dengan metoda 8 langkah troubleshooting yang diadobsi dari caterpillar.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa peningkatan rasio kompresi dari 8,8: 1 menjadi 10,9: 1 dapat mempercepat proses cranking dari 36 detik menjadi 2 detik, dan penggunaan BBM tipe pertalite atau pertamax pada sepeda motor ini menjadi cocok dengan konfigurasi engine yang baru, hal ini berdampak pada konsumsi BBM yang lebih irit dari 52 km/l menjadi 76 km/l.

Abstract

In the recent years,almost every house, has domestic refrigerator wich still use CFC-12 refrigerant as the fluid.When the leakage happen, the refrigerant causes the demage of ozon such as forming the ozon side then radiation of ultra violet from the sun ray in high intensity reach the surface on each directly and it is dangerous for the human life. The Hidrocarbon refrigerant (HCR-12) is considered as one of alternative, wich is environmentally friendly,more energy to save and without modification, to replace the CFC-12.This research compare the performance of household refrigerator using the CFC-12 refrigerant and HCR-12 without the modification of refrigerator.The result shown from the COP, that the refrigerators work for both of refrigerant is relatively the same and the quality of the ice product from HCR-12 is better than CFC-12, because the amount of the energy wich is absorbed by HCR-12 during the evapouration process is bigger than CFC-12. Analyzing the amount of refrigerant weight fullfilled to refrigerator, HCR-12 only uses 40 % from CFC-12,If the price of both refrigerant is the same,the use of HCR-12 is profitible than the use of CFC-12

Abstract

Model Solar Chimney dengan ukuran 3x3 m2 luas atap rumah sebagai kolektor pelat datar telah dipelajari dalam penelitian ini. Udara panas keluaran sistem ini digunakan untuk pengeringan bahan hasil pertanian dengan sistem tray truck dryer telah dipelajari sebelumnya. Kedua sistem ini digabung untuk dijadikan terintegrasi pada daerah jalur khatulistiwa dimana membutuhkan pengeringan bahan hasil pertaniannya (contoh kulit manis, ikan, dll). Temperatur pengeringan bahan ini berkisar 41oC sampai dengan 80oC. Kondisi bahan ini dapat digunakan pada sistem pengeringan ini. Bahan yang dikeringkan berada pada temperatur pengeringannya akan menghasilkan jenis yang paling bagus dan maksimal, serta lebih bersih berada pada sistem tersebut.  Sistem ini menjadi alternatif pengeringan bahan pada daerah yang membutuhkan dijalur khatulistiwa yang masih belum memperoleh aliran listrik. Pemanfaatan energi surya secara langsung akan lebih optimal dalam kebutuhan sehari-hari masyarakat pada teknologi ini, sehingga ketergantungan dengan energi lain (minyak bumi, kayu, dll) berkurang dengan memanfaatkan sumber utama energi yaitu energi surya. Atap rumah sebagai kolektor pelat datar dan rumah pengering pada sistem solar chimney menjadi alaternatif energi untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari.

Abstract

The versatile tool from thermoelectric power supply has been made and has satisfied performance. The selection of material and tool is chosen based on the product availability in the market and the cooling device is selected based on the number of cooling load. Thermoelectric cooler is one of the electrical components that transfer a heat to another side by electric discharge. Cold temperature generated in the cold side is used to cooling the working fluid and the heat temperature is used to heating the water. The water is used as cooling fluid and used as much as 3L to cooling the room temperature where it is integrated by fan to either accelerate the heat absorption process or dispose the heat. Small heat exchanger is used to expand the heat absorption area in a cooling room. The results show that cooling element is capable to work constantly on the cooling power for one element by 37 W. Meanwhile in the tool characteristics, it is capable to produce low temperature of 13°C that begins in 40th minute. In addition, warm water temperature with volume of 30L is capable to produce 45°C. The maximum efficiency from cooling device is occurred when the different temperature in both side is nearly minimum. Coefficient of performance (COP) of cooling system is obtained at 0,58. Abstract

Pottery is an art craft made from clay which besides having a high use value also has a pretty good aesthetic value. Pottery craft business has existed in Indonesia since ancient times until now. This business has a deficiency in the production machine part, where the production machine still uses human power as the main driving force during the rotation during the pottery making process. Therefore, a modification of a better pottery turning machine is needed to support the pottery craft business. The design of this pottery turning machine uses a working drawing design of a pottery turning machine product with a rotating speed that can be adjusted according to work requirements via a speed control pedal. The pottery turning machine has a strong construction with machine specifications of length 760 x width 400 x height 700 mm, with the addition of 2 pulleys with a first pulley diameter of 2.5 inches, and a second pulley diameter of 12 inches with a connecting belt using type A-57. And by using umbrella gears with a ratio of z1 = 25 and z2 = 50 with a maximum pedestal capacity of 10 kg.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries which has high intensity solar radiation. This is very useful in term to exploite solar radiation for drying processes. However, most drying processes are done naturally. This method has many constraints. By improvement of solar collector technology, the drying processes could be done more better. Unfortunately, most solar collectors still have many limitation due to generating high output temperature. Therefore, in this present study, the solar collector is tried to optimizing by enlarging area of frontal surface of solar radiation and increasing rate of air flow out in term to maximize the drying processes. Result shows that by flowing the air constantly (0, 122 m3/s) on 1 m2 surface area will generate output temperatur to approximately 90,2 oC

Abstract

Cost production in the education is the important. Education Quality influence by performance in personal and facility. The good personal and facility is affecting cost production (education). Height quality education consumption cost produced is more expensive. To cost education can be minimization. with the analyses cost production (education) example calculated overhead, cost operational and etc. Level of this education fare can be applied by paying attention ability of consumer so those process studies stand at bay with quality of good education.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi alat berat saat ini semakin fokus pada teknologi hemat energi, ramah lingkungan dan aman. Kendaraan alat berat bertenaga listrik merupakan solusi untuk mengurangi emisi gas buang karbon dan antisipasi habisnya bahan bakar fosil di masa depan. Kendaraan alat berat bertenaga listrik menggunakan baterai kelak sebagai pengganti mesin diesel. Perpres Nomor 5 Tahun 2006 Tentang Kebijakan Energi Nasional mendorong masyarakat untuk meningkatkan penggunaaan energi baru dan terbarukan. Kementerian ESDM mengeluarkan data jumlah energi surya harian rata-rata di Indonesia sebesar 3-6,8 kWh/m²/hari, dan di Padang berkisar antara 3.5-5,1 kWh/m²/hari. Kemampuan kerja dari sel surya diantaranya sangat dipengaruhi oleh arah datanganya sinar matahari dan kemiringan sudut. Solar tracking system jika diaplikasikan pada suatu PLTS akan menambah biaya. Untuk Membantu masyarakat kota Padang, penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk menentukan arah dan sudut kemiringan yang optimal dalam memasang sel surya secara tetap. Sudut  dan arah optimal adalah sudut kemiringan dan arah sel surya yang memberikan produksi energi listrik harian yang paling besar. Dalam studi ini menggunakan kajian eksperimental pada panel surya tipe monocrystalline 100 Wp. Sel surya diuji pada beberapa sudut kemiringan (0º,15º,30º,45º,60º,75º) dan arah (10º,15º,20º) menghadap ke Utara Barat Laut. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan jumlah energi listrik yang maksimal dihasilkan sebuah panel surya dengan ukuran 120 Wp berada pada kondisi pemasangan 15o sudut kemiringan panel dengan arah 10,5o menghadap ke barat laut. Berdasarkan kajian perencanaan perhitungan pemanfaatan energi listrik hasil keluaran solar cell sebagai penyuplai kendaraan alat berat, dari perhitungan penggunaan energi listrik dapat menghemat biaya operasional sekitar 49%.

Abstract

The process of identification and classification of products in the era of modern manufacturing industries has become a crucial pillar in enhancing efficiency, productivity, and product quality. In this research, the modeling of manufacturing product classification, such as mechanical components consisting of four classes: bolts, washer, nuts, and locating pin, was conducted. The proposed model in this study is the Support Vector Machine (SVM) with Radial Basis Function (RBF). The dataset used consists of digital images of mechanical components, with each component having 400 samples, resulting in a total of 1600 samples. The dataset is divided into training and testing data, with 300 samples for each component in the training set, and 100 samples removed from the training set for external testing as model validation. The best model parameters were determined using grid search by varying the parameter values of C and γ (gamma). The model was evaluated using K=3 fold cross-validation, and external testing utilized a confusion matrix to calculate Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and F1-Score values. The research results indicate that the SVM model with the RBF kernel, using the combination of C=10 and γ=scale, achieves the best performance in classifying the four mechanical components. This is evident from the training results of the model, which were able to obtain evaluation metrics such as Accuracy of 94.17%, Precision of 0.94, Recall of 0.94, and F1-Score of 0.94. Meanwhile, the validation results with new data not present in the training dataset show that the model can achieve evaluation metrics with an Accuracy of 93%, Precision of 0.93, Recall of 0.93, and F1-Score of 0.93. These results are consistent with the training performance, indicating that the SVM model with the RBF kernel excels in classifying digital images of mechanical components, such as bolts, nuts, washer, and locating pin.

Abstract

The corn grain chopping machine has been designed with a knife blade as a breaker. This designed machine will be used to process agricultural products. The machine design process begins with stages, namely data processing, drawing sketches, calculations, and drawing with solidwork. It is planned that the driving force for the corn seed chopper machine will be to use an electric motor with 4 HP power and 2800 Rpm rotation with specifications for length 890 mm, width 420 mm, height 757 mm. The capacity of the corn grain chopper machine is 213 kg/hour using a shaft made of ST-37 steel and a direct transmission system and the bearings used are 1 inch in size. The way this chopping machine works is by utilizing the rotation of the electric motor to rotate the blade as a breaker and relying on the machine's cutting speed of 2800 rpm which makes the work process fast. The resulting corn fragments come out of the output hole provided and then enter the container provided. The specifications of the design results are obtained in accordance with the original plan
