Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan variasi keluasan makna tekstusal (KMT) yang direpresentasikan dalam teks Five on The Treasure Island dan Lima Sekawan di Pulau Harta, mendeskripsikan makna variasi KMT tersebut dalam konteks penerjemahan, serta membahas dan menginterpretasikan faktor-faktor kontekstual yang memotivasi terjadinya variasi KMT. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif-kualitatif yang menerapkan kerangka teoritik Translation Tou dan model komunikasi sematik translational untuk analisis translasi dan model conceptual Halliday untuk analisis makna tekstual. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah dua novel dengan fokus pada satuan-satuan klausa. yang mewujudkan satuan-satuan makna tekstual. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dengan menerapkan konsep Komunikasi Semiotik Translasional (KST) dan konsep Halliday tentang makna tekstual. Pengujian keabsahan data dilakukan melalui triangulasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi KMT antara T1 dan T2 cenderung sangat rendah atau T1=T2, hal ini dapat dilihat dari tingkat frekuensi kemunculan terdapat pada variasi nol atau sangat rendah sebesar 552 atau 63,52% (T1=T2). Berdasarkan hasil rerata tingkat keluasannya, T1 lebih luas dari T2. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari kemunculan rerata T1 sejumlah 193 atau sebesar 22,21%. Jenis-jenis tema yang memotivasi terjadinya variasi keluasan makna tekstual yaitu: tema interpersonal, tema tekstual, dan tema topikal. Faktor-faktor kontekstual yang memotivasi terjadinya variasi KMT, yaitu konteks situasi dan konteks budaya. Konteks situasi terdiri dari field, tenor dan mode. Konteks budaya ditunjukkan oleh istilah yang mengacu pada budaya T1 digunakan pada T2. Pada judul yang tampak pada T1 dan T2, mengindikasikan bahwa T2 berintertekstual dengan T1. Kata Kunci: penerjemahan, tema-rema, keluasan makna tekstual.

Abstract

English in the era Industrial Revolution 4.0 became the main requirement in various sectors. Indonesia educational fields gave attention for English subject so that became a local content subject in elementary school. In providing foreign language skills to elementary school children, it needs certain methods to suit their world. Learning English for elementary school children should be suitable for their needs, such learning through play, active learning, effective learning, and fun. The aim of community service is to know the learning methods that are more preffered by the elementary school children and to provide basic knowledge on kinds of material such ‘how to introduce your self’, ‘direction’, ‘5W + 1H’. From its activities, it is found that the learning methods that is most preffered by the female elementary school children are story telling method, while games method more chosen by the male of school age children. There is an increase in knowledge of participants related to basic material ‘how to introduce your self’, ‘direction’, ‘5W + 1H’, it is proven by the results of the post test that has been done. The knowledge value of participants as many as 15 elementary school age children before learning is ± 62.80 and after the community service is ± 80.33.Keywords: Learning English, elementary school age children, learning methods

Abstract

This research aims to determine the types of attitudes and their manifestation in Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour album. The data used in this research is song lyrics in the form of phrases, clauses, and sentences. This data was obtained from Olivia Rodrigo’s official account on Spotify. The research method used in this research is descriptive-qualitative. The theory of attitude in this research is from Martin and White. This theory is used to identify the types and the manifestation of attitude in Sour. The results show that three kinds of attitudes (affect, judgment, and appreciation) are applied in the song lyrics. Based on the results, affect is the highest type of attitude found, with 74 frequencies (60.66%). Then, judgment is the second type of attitude that appears a lot with 39 frequencies (31.97%). The last type of attitude is appreciation, appearing at least with 9 frequencies (7.37%). Meanwhile, the manifestation, negative manifestation was the highest with 94 frequencies (77.05%), and the positive manifestation with 28 frequencies (22.95%). Affect is the highest type of attitude found in Sour song lyrics. Since more than 60% of the data is found in the form of expressions of feeling undesired, unhappiness, happiness, dissatisfaction, satisfaction, insecurity, and security. Meanwhile, negative manifestation is the highest type of manifestation found. Since 77% of the data is found in the form of expressions of misery, displeasure, disquiet, undesired, criticism, and condemnation.
