Abstract

This study aims to find out: 1) the plot in the Lelaki Harimau novel by Eka Kurniawan; 2) characters and characterizations in the Lelaki Harimau novel by Eka Kurniawan; 3) the setting or setting in the Lelaki Harimau novel by Eka Kurniawan; 4) inner conflict in the Lelaki Harimau novel by Eka Kurniawan; 5) causes of inner conflict in the Lelaki Harimau novel by Eka Kurniawan. This type of research is qualitative research. The research data is in the form of a unit of events in the form of sentences and paragraphs contained in the Lelaki Harimau novel. The research data source is Lelaki Harimau novel by Eka Kurniawan. The instrument of this research is that the researchers themselves are equipped with a set of theories. The research data collection technique is carried out by reading the entire contents of the novel, observing, and recording the data obtained. The research data analysis technique was carried out with qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of this study: 1) The flow in the novel Lelaki Harimau by Eka Kurniawan is a mixed plot; 2) Figure and character, the main character in the novel Lelaki Harimau by Eka Kurniawan is Margio with an honest, trustworthy, innocent and caring character; 3) The location in the Lelaki Harimau novel is 131, Surau, Warung Agung Sofyan, Rumah Anwar Sadat, Hutan, Rumah Margio, 4) The form of the main character's inner conflict in Lelaki Harimau Novel by Eka Kurniawan is due to the main character being born and raised in the environment families who are very deficient do not make the main character feel happy; 5) Factors that cause the inner conflict of the main character in Novel Lelaki Harimau by Eka Kurniawan, internal factors and external factors.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the theme, plot, character and characterization, background, social problems, and social criticism in the Sarimin monologue drama script by Agus Noor. This study uses theory, approach, and methods of literary sociology analysis and a set of theories regarding themes, plot, character and characterization and setting. The social problem in the Sarimin monologue drama script by Agus Noor is the problem of poverty, which is to go to prison for being poor. The social criticism in the Sarimin monologue drama script by Agus Noor is social criticism among officials, namely social criticism on the governor and social criticism on selfish officials; social criticism on the law apparatus, which is that the police are often busy suddenly and about the police always belittling small people; and social criticism in the general public, namely the behavior of the Indonesian people who lack respect for their own culture and the Indonesian people easily forget.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of psychological violence, the causes of psychological violence, and the impact of the psychological violence in the Genduk novel. This type of research is qualitative research. Research data in the form of a unit of events contained in the paragraph Genduk novel by Sundari Mardjuki which contains information to answer the problem formulation and related to the goal. Sources of research data in the form of primary data sources, namely the novel Genduk by Sundari Mardjuki. This study uses a research instrument, the researcher itself, equipped with a set of theories about the forms of psychological violence, the causes of psychological violence, and the effects of psychological violence. Data collection techniques are done by reading the entire contents of the novel, identifying, and recording the data obtained. The data analysis technique was carried out using descriptive techniques. The results of the study are as follows. Genduk's novel psychological forms of violence are verbal violence, abuse and neglect, emotions, control, and coercion. The cause of Genduk's novel psychic violence in the form of economic factors and family factors The impact of Genduk's novel psychological violence, namely the impact of emotional disturbances and the impact of self-concept

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam novel Jejak Langkah dan Rumah Kaca karya Pramoedya Ananta Toer. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini menggunakan data kualitatif berupa satuan peristiwa yang memuat nilai-nilai budaya yang diperoleh dari kedua novel tersebut. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti yang dibekali seperangkat teori poskolonial dan nilai budaya. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan metode observasi dan dokumentasi dan selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif dengan berpijak pada teori poskolonial dan nilai budaya. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa nilai-nilai budaya yang terdapat dalam kedua novel tersebut tersebut terbagi menjadi dua kategori, yaitu nilai budaya modern dan nilai budaya tradisional.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) relasi antara penjajah dan terjajah dalam novel Rumah Kaca  dan (2) proses dan bentuk resistensi yang dilakukan Pribumi terhadap kolonialisme. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini adalah data kualitatif yang diperoleh lewat pengamatan. Adapun data penelitian berupa satuan peristiwa yang memuat relasi antara penjajah dan terjajah dan proses dan bentuk resistensi (Pribumi) terhadap kolonialisme. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah dokumen, yaitu novel Rumah Kaca yang diterbitkan oleh Hasta Mitra Jakarta. Adapun hasil penelitiannya sebagai berikut. Pertama, relasi antara penjajah, Barat, atau Eropa dan terjajah, Timur, atau Pribumi yang hierarkhis, dominatif, dan menindas direpresentasikan oleh relasi antara gubermen dan Bupati Pekalongan serta relasi antara Komisaris Besar Donald Nicolson dan Minke. Kedua, relasi Eropa dan Indoeropa yang hierarkhis dan dominative. Ketiga, relasi antara Indoeropa dan Indoeropa ada yang setara dan ada pula yang tidak setara. Keempat, relasi antara Indoeropa dan Pribumi yang hierarkhis, dominatif, dan menindas. Relasi yang hierarkhis, dominatif, dan menindas menimbulkan resistensi yang dilakukan oleh figur resistensi, yaitu Minke. Kata kunci: Relasi, mimikri, resistensi, Rumah Kaca

Abstract

This applied research has four objectives, namely to analyze (1) the form of gender inequality, (2) the form of women's emancipation, and (3) the practice of gender resistance in the novel Kenanga by Oka Rusmini. This qualitative descriptive study uses qualitative data collected by observation and documentation methods. The research instrument is a researcher who is equipped with a set of feminism theory and data analysis cards. The data collected was then analyzed using a qualitative descriptive technique based on the theory of feminism. The results of the study found that the plot of the Kenanga novel was a flashback type. The main cha-racter who experiences gender injustice and resists her feminist thoughts, attitudes, and behavior is Kenanga. The forms of gender injustice against Balinese women in Oka Rusmini's novel Kenanga include marginalization, stereotypes, and violence. The emancipation of Balinese women in the novel Kenanga is defined as the process of releasing women from low socioeconomic positions and from legal or traditional       restraints, especially the caste system that restricts women from developing. Balinese women's resistance through Kenanga and Intan appears in four forms, namely inner, cultural, social, and verbal resistance.Penelitian terapan ini memiliki empat tujuan, yakni menganalisis (1) bentuk ketidakadilan gender, (2) wujud emansipasi wanita, dan (3) praktik resistensi gender dalam novel Kenanga karya Oka Rusmini. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif inimenggunakan data kualitatif yang dikumpulkan dengan metode observasi dan dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti yang dibekali seperangkat teori feminisme dan kartu data analisis. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif dengan berpijak pada teori feminisme. Hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa alur novel Kenanga berjenis flashback. Tokoh utama yang mengalami ketidak-adilan gender dan melakukan resistensi dengan pikiran, sikap, dan perilaku feminisnya adalah Kenanga. Wujud ketidakadilan gender terhadap perempuan Bali dalam novel Kenanga karya Oka Rusmini meliputi marginalisasi, stereotipe, dan kekerasan. Emansipasi perempuan Bali dalam novel Kenanga diartikan sebagai proses pelepasan diri perempuan dari kedudukan sosial ekonomi rendah dan dari pengekangan hukum atau tradisi terutama sistem kasta yang membatasi pe-rempuan untuk berkembang. Resistensi perempuan Bali lewat tokoh Kenanga dan Intan muncul dalam empat bentuk, yaitu perlawanan batin, kultural, sosial, dan verbal.
