Abstract

One of the cultural heritages in West Nusa Tenggara, especially Lombok, is takepan (ancient lontar manuscripts). Takepan written on Lontar leaf sheets (Duntan leaf in Sasak language) is known as the jejawan script (derived from ancient Javanese language). According to [1] in his research on image segmentation of Javanese script, the adaptive thresholding value was obtained based on the variation in the sensitivity of each local windows. The process of determining the thresholding value works on blocks in the image. Images that have high contrast and high lighting variations are very difficult to classify as background or foreground because there are a lot of pixels, you should use Local Adaptive Thresholding. From the research that has been done, it can be concluded that adaptive thresholding and morphology with dilation approach really help maximize image readability with the highest Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) value reaching 34,107 dBDOI : 10.29408/jit.v3i2.2304

Abstract

The online Lontar (Takepan) Sasak manuscripts currently available are not sufficient to be a reference for those who want to learn Sangsekerta because of the limited contribution and stagnation of their contributions. On the other hand, active speakers of Lontar (Takepan) Sasak manuscripts exposed to the internet are available in sufficient quantities. The wisdom of crowds-based crowdsourcing mechanism is expected to be a solution to the problem. This paper presents a draft framework of the Sasak Lontar (Takepan) online crowdsourcing dictionary system. The design of this framework is expected to be the basis for the development of the new Sasak Lontar (Takepan) online dictionary.DOI : 10.29408/jit.v3i2.2300

Abstract

The development of the world's technology is growing rapidly, especially in the field of health in the form of detection tools of various objects, including disease objects. The technology in point is part of artificial intelligence that is able to recognize a set of imagery and classify automatically with deep learning techniques. One of the deep learning networks widely used is convolutional neural network with computer vision technology. One of the problems with computer vision that is still developing is object detection as a useful technology to recognize objects in the image as if humans knew the object of the image. In this case, a computer machine is trained in learning using artificial neural networks. One of the sub types of artificial neural networks that are able to handle computer vision problems is by using deep learning techniques with convolutional neural network algorithms. The purpose of this research is to find out how to design the system, the network architecture used for COVID-19 infection detection. The system cannot perform detection of other objects. The results of COVID-19 infection detection with convolutional neural network algorithm show unlimited accuracy value that ranges from 60-99%

Abstract

Not in the future, Sasak, an ancient manuscript on palm-leaf media from the island of Lombok, experienced quality degradation over time, which worsened the readability of the manuscript. This study explores a combination of denoising and binarization techniques for manuscript image processing with the aim of helping improve future script readability. The experimental results show that the readability level can be improved by different denoising and binarization techniques for different front conditions. The binarization simple thresholding technique and the gaussian adaptive technique are found to generally have the best performance compared to other techniques.DOI : 10.29408/jit.v1i2.902

Abstract

Hydroponics is a method of planting without using soil media by utilizing water. The problem occurs when the farmer cannot control the water used in hydroponic. Therefore, we need a system to monitor the amount of water used in the hydroponic planting system. This service activity aims to develop and implement a hydroponic monitoring system based on IoT. This activity was carried out by students, followed by several accompanying lecturers. It aims to assist partners in measuring water content, temperature, and water pH in hydroponic plants. One of the business unit partners for this activity is SMEs engaged in hydroponic agricultural cultivation at the Science Technology & Industrial Park (STIPARK) NTB. This community service activity was held for four months. From the process of analyzing partner problems, they were testing the STIPARK management and hydroponic SME business partners and the community who later needed a hydroponic monitoring system based on the Internet of Things so that information could be received in real-time. This product can help hydroponic SME business partners know the level of water levels or nutrients, monitoring water temperature and water pH to help farmers increase crop yields from hydroponic cultivation

Abstract

Nurul Haramain NWDI is a boarding school founded by TGKH. Djuaini Muchtar (late) in 1991, which is located in Narmada District, West Lombok Regency. Santri do not only come from the islands of Lombok or West Nusa Tenggara, but also come from various regions in Indonesia, as the years go on, more and more students enter Islamic boarding schools and of course, every year there are always students who finish their education. The lack of information about alumni that is published every year makes it difficult for students and the outside community to get information. Alumni are an important part of an educational institution, so to overcome this problem, an alumni information system is needed, to make it easier to get to know each other. Based on the results of the research that has been done by the author in the form of an information system for alumni of the Nurul Haramain Islamic Boarding School NWDI Narmada web-based, where in building this system used system development tools in the form of software used, such as data flow diagrams (DFD), PHP, which is a programming language. and My SQL for the database.

Abstract

Every year the University offers various types of scholarships to its students, including Hamzanwadi Selong University, East Lombok. One type of scholarship offered is the Bidikmisi scholarship (KIP/K) which is intended for students who have middle to lower economic levels but have good academic achievement or potential. Every year the number of applicants for this scholarship continues to increase, but the number received each year is limited. The large number of piles of files applying for scholarships and the manual selection process tends to be ineffective and efficient and the results of the selection are inaccurate, so a system is needed that is able to assist in the selection process quickly, easily and on target. The method used is CRIS-DM with the Naive Bayes Classifier algorithm modeling, this method is an approach that refers to the Bayes theorem which combines previous knowledge with new knowledge. The variables consist of 7 attributes, namely: Name, DTKS status, achievement, parents' occupation, total income of parents, home ownership, and number of family dependents[1]. Testing was carried out using k-fold cross validation, and the highest accuracy results were obtained from k-fold 4 of 91.43%, while the AUC was 0.996% with a very good diagnostic classification. Thus it can be interpreted that the Naive Bayes algorithm is very well used in the selection of scholarships for bidikmisi scholarships at Hamzanwadi University

Abstract

Aikdewa Village is one of the villages that has considerable potential in natural tourism, local culture, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, these potentials have not been optimally promoted due to the lack of digital-based information media. Therefore, the development of the Aik Dewa Village Tourism Website was carried out as a digital information and promotion medium that can be accessed by the wider community. This activity aims to provide a centralized source of information related to the village profile, tourist destinations, cultural traditions, and local MSMEs products of Aik Dewa Village. The methods used in this program include field observation, data collection, system requirements analysis, interface design, website implementation, and functional testing. The developed website is designed with a simple layout and clear navigation to ensure ease of use and accessibility for users. The implementation results show that the website functions properly and is able to present village information in a structured and user-friendly manner. The existence of the Aik Dewa Village Tourism Website is expected to assist the village government and local community in promoting village potential more widely and to support the development of digital-based rural tourism

Abstract

Academic information services in higher education institutions still face various obstacles, such as delays in information delivery, limited access to services, and high administrative burdens due to repetitive student inquiries. This study aims to implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Semantic Search technology in a web-based Artificial Intelligence chatbot to optimize academic services at the Faculty of Engineering, Hamzanwadi University. The research method used is Design Science Research (DSR), which includes data collection, system requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and system evaluation. The chatbot's knowledge base is built from academic documents such as academic guidelines, service SOPs, academic calendars, scholarship information, and other administrative documents. The system was developed using an integration of LangChain, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Search, FastAPI, Next.js, and Supabase. Semantic Search techniques are used to perform vector embedding-based searches, while RAG is utilized to generate contextual answers based on relevant documents. Test results show that all key system features performed well with a 100% success rate in unit testing. A user satisfaction evaluation using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) method with 54 respondents yielded a score of 89.34%, categorized as "Very Satisfied," with a Mean Satisfaction Score above 4.37 on a maximum scale of 5.0. The AI ​​chatbot successfully addressed traditional academic information service issues by providing 24/7 service, reducing the workload of campus staff, and ensuring information consistency through RAG technology.

Abstract

Manual watering of chili seedlings requires considerable time and effort and is often inconsistent in the amount of water provided, which can affect plant growth. This study aims to design and implement a prototype of a chili seedling watering system based on the Arduino Uno microcontroller that can operate automatically and manually. The research method used is a design and development method, which includes observation, system design, device assembly, programming, and system testing. The system uses a soil moisture sensor as the main controller, a DHT11 sensor to monitor environmental temperature, a relay to control the water pump, a toggle switch for manual operation, and a 16x2 LCD to display soil moisture, temperature, and pump status in real time. The test results show that in automatic mode, the pump activates when the soil moisture is below the threshold of 56% and stops when the moisture reaches 60%. In manual mode, the pump can be controlled directly using the toggle switch, while the LCD successfully displays all system parameters properly. The contribution of this study is the development of a simple and easy-to-use chili seedling watering prototype that helps maintain soil moisture stability and reduces dependence on manual watering
