Abstract

Empirically, Kersen Fruit has been used as an antidiabetic substance by the community. However, scientific data on its efficacy is not yet available. The purpose of this study is to determine the decrease in blood sugar levels after the administration of Kersen Juice (Muntingia calabura L.). The mice test animals used were divided into 5 treatment groups, each consisting of 3 males. The group I was used as a negative control with the aquadest. The Kersen juice concentration was 15% v / v, 30% v / v, and 60% v / v in group II, III, and IV respectively. Group IV was a positive control (glibenclamide suspension 0.002% w / v) with a volume of 1 ml / 20 gram BW. The Measurement of blood sugar levels of mice after induction is carried out every 60 minutes for 3 hours. The results showed that the average decrease in blood sugar levels of each treatment group was 66.2%, 106.9%, 119.6%, 122%, and 126.3%. From the statistical analysis using the Variance test, there was no significant difference (p <0.05) between 30% and 80% Kersen juice with the positive control (Glibenclamide 0.002% w / v). Namun data ilmiah tentang khasiat tersebut belum ada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan penurunan kadar gula darah setelah diberikan Sari Buah Kersen (Muntingia calabura L.). Hewan uji mencit yang digunakan dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok perlakuan. Setiap kelompok terdiri 3 ekor mencit jantan, kelompok I kontrol negatif dengan aquadest,  kelompok II Sari Buah Kersen konsentrasi 15% v/v, kelompok III Sari Buah Kersen konsentrasi 30% v/v, kelompok IV Sari Buah Kersen konsentrasi 60% v/v kelompok IV kontrol positif (suspensi glibenklamid 0,002% b/v), dengan volume pemberian 1 ml/20 gram BB. Pengukuran kadar gula darah mencit  setelah induksidilakukan tiap 60 menit selama 3 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata penurunan kadar gula darah tiap-tiap kelompok perlakuan adalah sebesar 66,2% , 106,9% , 119,6%, 122% dan 126,3%. Berdasarkan analisis statistik menggunakan uji Varians menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang tidak bermakna ( p < 0,05) antara Sari Buah Kersen 30 % dan 80 % dengan kontrol positif (Glibenklamid 0,002 %b/v). Kata kunci : Buah Kersen (Muntingia calabura L.), Gula Darah, Mencit (Mus musculus)
