Abstract

Testing of Compost Waste Baglog Media Fungus and Biochar Palm Kernel Shells in Rubber Grafting Seeds (Hevea Brasiliensis) intercropped with Rice Plants. This thesis is under the guidance of Ir. Gusmeizal, MP as supervisor I and Dr.Ir. Sumihar Hutapea MS, as supervisor II This research was conducted in Sampali Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, on May 28-September 8, 2018. The research method used was a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 treatment factors, namely, mushroom baglog compost media waste (K) and oil palm kernel biochar (B) where compost treatment was 3 levels and oil palm kernel biochar treatment was 4 level. Factor I: Compost of mushroom baglog media waste with 3 levels of concentration ie K0 = Control (without compost), K1 = Baglog compost of 50 grams / polybag, K2 = Baglog compost of 100 grams / polybag. While Factor II: Biochar palm kernel with 4 levels, namely: B0 = Control (without Biochar), B1 = Giving Biochar Palm Kernel 10 grams / polybag, B2 = Giving Biochar Palm Kernel 20 grams / polybag, B3 = Giving Biochar Kernel 10 grams / polybag, B2 = Giving Biochar Palm Kernel 20 grams / polybag, B3 = Giving Biochar Kernel Palm Oil 30 grams / polybag, each treatment was repeated 3 times.The parameters observed in this study consisted of shoot bud rupture time, shoot height (cm), number of strands (leaves), leaf area, leaf color, stem diameter. The results showed that the treatment given had no significant effect on all parameters.

Abstract

Black corn has its advantage compare to regular corn due to the nutrition component. This could lead the increase of demant to this corn variety. The Effect of providing various biochar sources and various manure on the growthand production of Zea mays black maiz L. The study used factorial randomized block design with two factors, namely the provision of various biochar sources which was combined into several organic fertilizer. Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, wet production weight/sample using klobot, wet production weight/plot using klobot,wet production weight/sample without klobot, wet production weight/plot without klobot, dru production weigh of pipil/sample, dry weight of production of onehundred grain pipil. The results of the study showed that the effect of giving various biochar of rice husk corn cobs of candlenut shells did not signficantly affect all observation parameters and various manure, namely cows, chickens and goats also did not significantly affect all observed parameters.

Abstract

This research was aiming to find out whether the application of biochar palm kernel shell and mushroom baglog waste. The research was conducted by using the Factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK) with 2 treatment factors. The first factor was the biochar of the palm kernel shell  and The second factor was the mushroom baglog waste which. The result of this research showed that the treatment of  giving biochar to brown rice in rubber plantation had a real effect on the growth of the plant height in the age of 6 MSPT and the weight of production of sample crop and didn’t have a real effect on the production weight per plot, number of tillers, number of panicles of sample crop and the amount of 1000 grains of brown rice. The treatment of giving oyster mushroom baglog tp brown rice in rubber plantation had a real effect on the production of the rice per plot, and the production weight of sample crop and didn’t have a real effect on the growth of the number of the tillers, number of panicles of sample crops, and amount of 1000 grains of brown rice. The combination of both  factors  didn’t  have  a  real  effect  on  the  growth  and  the production of brown rice.

Abstract

Cacao is one of the predominant plantation in Indonesia so that the production should be improved constantly. The purpose of this researce was to obtain data on the growth of cacao seedlings (Theobroma cacao L.) by applying rabbit cage liquid organic fertilizer and composting baglog waste with different doses. This research was carried out at the Medan Area faculty of agriculture experiment area located on the street PBSI No.1 Medan Estate. The research was conducted  from  July to  November  2018.  Using  Factorial  Randomized  Group Desing (RGD) with two replications. The first factor tested was rabbit cage liquid organic fertilizer namely U0= without POC, U1= consentration 5% (50 ml POC/liter), U2= consentration 10% (100 ml POC/liter), U3= consentration 15% (150 ml POC/liter). The second   factor is baglog waste compost which is L0= without compost baglog waste, L1= 20% baglog compost waste (600g) + 80% top soil (2.400g), L2= 40% baglog compost waste (1.200g) + 60% top soil (1.800g), L3= 60% baglog compost waste (1.800g) + 40% top soil (1.200g). The results showed that administration of baglog waste compost can increase growth ( plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter and canopy wet weight) of cocoa seedlings

Abstract

The Waste Utilization Of Jengkol Peel As Raw Material Compost And Biochar In Increasing Growth And Production Of Onion (Allium Ascalonicum L.). Guided by Dr.Ir. Sumihar Hutapea, MS and Ir.H.Abdul Rahman, MS. This research aimed to determine effect of giving compost jengkol peel on the growth and production of onion, effect of giving biochar jengkol peel on the growth and production of onion, and effect of the combination between compost and biochar waste of jengkol peel on the growth and production of onion (Allium ascalonicum L.). This research was conducted in the House Kasa Growth Centre Kopertis Region I North Sumateta-Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam from April until September 2016. The research was conducted by planting in polybags with soil weight 5 kg/polybag. This research was conducted by using Randomized Block Design (RBD) factorial with 2 factors treatment. The first factor is compost of jengkol peel that consists of 4 levels dose are : K0 = (control), K1 = (10 ton/ha or 25 g/polybag), K2 = (20 ton/ha or 50 g/polybag), K3 = (30 ton/ha or 75 g polybag). The second factor is biochar of jengkol peel that consists of 4 levels dose are : B0 = (control), B1 = (5 ton / ha or 12.5 g / polybag), B2 = (10 ton / ha or 25 g / polybag), B3 = (15 ton / ha or 37.5 g / polybag). The results of research showed that treatment of jengkol peel compost was very significant effect on plant height at of 2 and 3 MST observation, significant effect on the observation aged 4 and 5 MST, and it is not affected real to the age of 6 MST observation. To the observations on the number of leaves on the age of 2, 3 and 4 MST is very significant effect, significant effect on the age of 5 MST observation and not affected real on the age of 6 MST observation. On the number of cloves and tuber diameter is not affected real. Fresh weight of tuber and dry weight of tuber is significant effect. Treatment of jengkol peel biochar is not affected real on all parameters of observation. Interaction treatment of compost and biochar of jengkol peel is significant effect on leaf length 2 and 3 MST, number of leaf age 2 MST and it is not affected real on other parameters.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of growth and production of sweet corn plants to the application of modified SP-50 biochar and plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR). The design used was Factorial RAK which consisted of 2 treatment factors, namely: (1) Biochar SP-50 (B)     consisted of 3 levels, B0 = Without Biochar, B1 = Dose 10 tons/ha, B2 = dose 20 tons/ha. (2) PGPR (P) consists of 4 levels, treatment P0 = No PGPR, P1 = PGPR concentration of 1%, P2 = PGPR concentration of 2%, P3 = PGPR concentration of 3%. The results of this study showed that the application of Biochar SP-50 had a significant effect on stem diameter, number of leaves, weight of cobs with cocob per plot, weight of cobs without cob per plot, and a very significant effect on the number of seed rows. The best treatment is giving SP-50 biochar as much as 20 tons/ha. The provision of PGPR did not significantly affect the growth and production of sweet corn plants but gave a positive effect with the best concentrations of 1% and 3%. The combination of Biochar SP-50 and PGPR had a significant effect on plant height, cob weight with cob per sample and cob weight without cob per sample. The best treatment was giving Biochar SP-50 at a dose of 20 tons/ha and PGPR with a concentration of 3%.

Abstract

Lack of availability of soil nutrients to excessive leaching and erosion, this makes it difficult to get soil media. It is alternative as nutrients replasment such as empty bunch ash and rice husk biochar. This study aims to determine the response of  vegetative growth of oil palm seedlings with the provision of empty bunch ash and rice husk biochar in the prenursery. The design used in this study was a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting  2 (two) treatment factors, namely : 1) empty bunch ash dose factors (A) which consists of 4 levels, namely: A0= control (without empty bunch ash), A1= empty bunch ash 250 gr/polybag 2 kg, A2= empty bunch ash 500 gr/polybag 2 kg, A3= empty bunch ash 750 gr/polybag 2 kg. 2) dose factor of rice husk biochar (B) concisting of 4 levels, namely: B0= control (without rice husk biochar), B1= rice husk biochar 5 tons/ha (0.5 kg/plot) or 100 gr/polybag 2 kg, B2= rice husk biochar 10 tons/ha (1 kg/plot) or 200 gr/polybag 2 kg, B3= rice husk biochar 15 tons/ha (1.5 kg/plot) or 250 gr/polybag 2 kg. The result showed that the empty bunch ash treatment had a significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, leaf area and number of leaves, the A1 treatment with 250 gr/polybag (25%) was the best treatment had a significant effect, B3 treatment by giving 250 gr/polybag (1,5 kg/plot) was the best treatment to be applied to prenursery oil palm seedlings.

Abstract

Menurunnya produksi cabai merah di Sumatera Utara disebabkan oleh berkurangnya luas panen, serangan hama penyakit dan kurang tersedianya unsur hara yang ada di dalam tanah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman cabai merah bermikoriza dengan aplikasi biochar dan pupuk kimia. Penelitian dilakukan di Gang Metcu Desa Guru Singa Kecamatan  Berastagi Kabupaten Karo yang dilakukan pada tanggal 24 Mei 2015 sampai 27 November 2015. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 faktor perlakuan. Faktor pertama yaitu dosis Biochar (A) dengan 4 taraf yaitu A = 0 kg biochar /m2; A1 = 0,5 kg biochar / m2 ; A2 = 1 kg biochar / m2 ; A3 = 1,5 kg biochar / m2. Faktor kedua yaitu jumlah pupuk kimia (B) dengan 4 taraf yaitu B0 = 0% dosis anjuran ; B1 = 100% dosis anjuran ; B2 = 75% dosis anjuran ; B3 = 50% dosis anjuran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pemberian biochar kendaga dan cangkang biji karet dan pupuk kimia dapat meningkatkan  pertumbuhan (tinggi tanaman,diameter batang) dan produksi (jumlah buah, bobot buah) tanaman cabai merah bermikoriza.

Abstract

Indonesia memiliki peluang untuk mengembangkan tanaman sayur-sayuran yang banyak bermanfaat bagi manusia. Sehingga ditinjau dari aspek klimatologis Indonesia sangat tepat untuk dikembangkan budidaya sayuran secara organik yaitu dengan memanfaatkan biomasa dari sisa-sisa tanaman berupa  “Biochar dan pupuk Bregadium”. Penelitian tentang pengaruh pemberian biochar dan pupuk bregadium terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman sawi hijau (brassica pekinensia L) dilaksanakan di kebun percobaan Universitas Medan Area yang dimulai dari bulan Juli sampai bulan September 2013. Tujuan  penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Biochar dan pupuk Bregadium Nutritions Gel UX-88 yang terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman sawi hijau. Percobaan ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 9 kombinasi perlakuan dan di ulang sebanyak 3 ulangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan Pemberian biochar memberikan pengaruh yang nyata untuk parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, tanaman sampel, berat tanaman per plot untuk parameter berat akar tanaman sampel dan berat akar tanaman per plot menunjukan tidak berbeda nyata , sedangkan untuk Pemberian pupuk cair bregadium memberikan pengaruh yang tidak nyata untuk semua parameter yang diamati tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, tanaman sampel, berat tanaman per plot,berat akar tanaman sampel dan berat akar tanaman per plot.
