Abstract

Produktivitas cabai rawit merah di Kecamatan Rumpin masih rendah. Pada tahun 2019, produktivitas cabai rawit sebesar 2 ton/ha. Penerapan Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) bertujuan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas cabai rawit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat keberdayaan petani dalam penerapan GAP cabai rawit merah, menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tingkat keberdayaan petani dalam penerapan GAP cabai rawit merah, menentukan model dan strategi untuk meningkatkan keberdayaan petani dalam penerapan GAP cabai rawit merah. Penelitian telah dilakukan di Kecamatan Rumpin pada April hingga Juni 2020. Sampel penelitian yaitu 47 petani yang aktif menanam cabai rawit merah. Sampel ditentukan dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Variabel bebas meliputi karakteristik petani, peran penyuluh, ketersediaan sarana prasarana, dan ketersediaan sumber informasi serta variabel terikat yaitu keberdayaan petani. Pengumpulan data primer menggunakan instrumen berupa kuesioner. Data diolah menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat keberdayaan petani dalam penerapan GAP cabai rawit merah yaitu belum berdaya. Faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap tingkat keberdayaan petani melalui penerapan GAP yaitu luas lahan, peran penyuluh, ketersediaan sarana prasarana, dan ketersediaan sumber informasi. Model yang ditentukan dalam meningkatkan keberdayaan pada penelitian ini yaitu dengan meningkatkan faktor yang berpengaruh dalam penerapan GAP cabai rawit merah. Strategi yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan keberdayaan yaitu dengan melakukan penyuluhan mengenai penerapan titik kendali wajib sebagai prioritas pertama dan penerapan titik kendali anjuran sebagai prioritas kedua

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country with a majority in rice farming. Every year there is an increase in rice production resulting in an increase in the amount of agricultural waste such as straw. The habits of farmers in Cimalaka Subdistrict, which are burning straw to reduce agricultural waste, have a negative impact on the environment. The content of the elements in straw can be reused for rice plants and can increase soil fertility, therefore a study was carried out under the heading " Farmer Empowerment through Processing Rice Straw Waste into Bokashi Fertilizer for Rice Plants (Oryza sativa L.) in Cimalaka District". The purpose of this study is to describe the level of empowerment of farmers in processing rice straw waste into bokashi fertilizer, analyzing the factors related to empowering farmers through processing rice straw waste into bokashi fertilizer and identifying extension strategies to improve farmer empowerment. The assessment was carried out for 4 months (March-June) in Cimalaka District. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling totaling 52 respondents. The type of data consists of secondary data and primary data. Data obtained through direct interviews and questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed descriptively and partial correlation. The results showed that the empowerment of farmers in processing straw into bokashi fertilizer in Cimalaka District was quite high. Factors associated with empowering farmers through processing rice straw waste into bokashi fertilizer are the level of education, the role of extension workers and sources of information. The strategy that can be done to improve farmer empowerment is through counseling through demonstration of how to make bokashi fertilizer to improve farmers' skills.

Abstract

Edible mushroom has important role due to its high protein dan nutrition contents for food substitution. It also has the role as functional food because it has active material contents, comprise of polysaccharide compound (glycan), triterpenoid, nucleotide, mannitol as well as alkaloid, which have benefit function for health and improving the human immunity. This study was conducted in June–September 2020, through secondary data collection, and the analysis by descriptive quantitative approach. The objectives were to: 1) identify the condition of edible mushroom development performance, 2) describe the people preference on food mushroom consumption, 3) describe the potency of edible mushroom as functional food for improving human immunity to protect the Covid-19. The results showed that the development of mushroom as functional food still leave many rooms for improvement. In addition, the production volume should be increased so that it can meet regional demands. Mushroom is known for its nutritional content. Therefore, its consumption rate should be increased as one of the solutions to increase body endurance against viruses and diseases.

Abstract

          Cabai  merupakan komoditas utama dan salah satu fokus kegiatan pembinaan pertanian, karena sangat berpengaruh pada fluktuasi harga dan inflasi. Petani dan pelaku usaha sudah berhasil dalam teknologi produksi, akan tetapi aspek penanganan pascapanen dan pengolahan hasil masih tertinggal. Penelitian ini menjawab permasalahan tersebut dengan menggali teknologi tepat guna untuk mempercepat proses penanganan pascapanen cabai rawit merah (Capcicum frutescens L.) dengan tetap mempertahankan kualitas produk dan memperpanjang waktu penyimpanan produk. Penelitian ini secara umum dilakukan untuk meningkatkan penanganan pascapanen cabai rawit merah, dengan tujuan khusus adalah mempelajari pengaruh perlakuan trimming terhadap kualitas produk cabai kering dan cabai bubuk, mempelajari pengaruh perlakuan pengempaan terhadap kualitas produk cabai kering dan cabai bubuk, serta membandingkan keadaan dan perubahan kualitas dan daya simpan dengan adanya perlakuan trimming dan pengempaan. Penelitian dilakukan di Kampus Polbangtan Bogor, di Laboratorium Pascapanen Hasil Pertanian. Perlakuan pada penelitian yaitu proses trimming dan tanpa trimming, pengempaan dan tanpa pengempaan. Parameter yang diamati adalah kebusukan, warna, aroma, dan rasa yang dilakukan seminggu sekali selama sepuluh minggu.  Pengamatan dilakukan melalui pengukuran dan uji organoleptik (scoring), pengolahan data hasil pengamatan dilakukan melalui uji-T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanpa perlakuan trimming ternyata tidak berpengaruh terhadap kualitas produk cabai rawit merah kering dan bubuk, tambahan perlakuan pengempaan pada tahapan pascapanen dapat mempercepat proses pengeringan tanpa mengurangi kualitas produk, sehingga memberi keuntungan positif pada penanganan pascapanennya, dan daya simpan dan kualitas cabai rawit merah kering lebih baik dan lebih lama dari pada cabai rawit bubuk.                                                Chili is one of main agricultural produces and become one of the focuses in agricultural development due to its important effect on price fluctuation and inflation. Overall, the production technology applied by farmers and agri-preuneurs were successful. Unfortunately, in terms of postharvest handling and processing aspects have not done well. This research was to answer these problems by exploring the appropriate technology to accelerate the postharvest handling process of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) by maintaining product quality and shelf-life. Research objectives were to study the effect of trimming on postharvest handling to the quality of dry chili and chili powder, to study  the effect of pressing on the postharvest handling to the quality of dry chili and chili powder, and to study the effect of trimming and pressing on postharvest handling to the quality and durability (shelf life) of dry chili and chili powder.  This research was conducted in Postharvest Handling Laboratory of Polbangtan Bogor, with the treatments are; with and without trimming process as well as pressing and without pressing process. Several parameters were observed every week along 10 weeks, such as deterioration, color, smell, and taste. The data were collected through measurement and organoleptic test (scoring) and analyzed using the t-Test. It can be concluded that; without trimming treatment wase not affected to the quality of dry chili and chili powder, by adding pressing treatment on postharvest handling rising some advantages because it could speed up the drying process without reducing the quality of the product, the durability and quality of dried  chili was better than  powder chili.
