Abstract

This study aims to develop and see the effect of website-based learning media on improving student learning outcomes. The population of this research is all students of grade XI of SMA Panca Budi Medan. Samples were taken by simple random sampling of two classes consisting of experimental class 1 which was taught using website-based media with a problem based learning model and experimental class 2 which was taught using power point media with direct instruction model. Based on the results of data analysis, website-based learning media that have been made have met the eligibility standard with a score of 3.71 out of 4,00 with valid criteria and do not need to be revised. Based on the results of the t test, the tcount data (2.44) is greater than ttable, so the hypothesis can be accepted.. So it can be concluded that the website-based learning media on the chemical equilibrium material made has met the website's eligibility standards; Student learning outcomes using website-based learning media with problem based learning models are higher than student learning outcomes using power point learning media with direct instruction models.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya dominasi penggunaan metode ceramah, tanpa bantuan media pembelajaran terkhusus pada pembelajaran kimia organik di SMA Negeri 4 Kisaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan hasil belajar siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan model Learning cycle 5E berbantuan media Chemdraw dan model Learning cycle 5E berbantuan media PPT pada materi turunan senyawa hidrokarbon dan gugus fungsi di kelas XII, serta menguji efektivitas media Chemdraw apabila di perbantukan dengan model Learning cycle 5E. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan model Learning cycle 5E berbantuan media Chemdraw dan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan model Learning cycle 5E berbantuan media PPT pada materi senyawa turunan hidrokarbon dan gugus fungsi. Hal ini dilihat dari hasil uji mann whitney dengan perolehan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,001<0,05 yang berarti Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Serta perolehan nilai posttest dari kelas eksperimen sebesar 86,6, lebih unggul dibandingkan kelas kontrol dengan perolehan nilai posttest sebesar 80,2. Media Chemdraw termasuk media yang cukup efektif diperbantukan dengan model belajar Learning cycle 5E dengan nilai N-gain Score sebesar 0,538 yang termasukdalam kategori sedang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in students' critical thinking using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Guided Inquiry learning models on electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. This research was conducted at SMAN 17 Medan in the 2022/2023 academic year. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were all students of class X IPA SMA Negeri 17 Medan. The sample of this study was class X IPA 5 as the experimental class I which was taught using the Problem Based Learning model and X IPA 6 as the experimental class II which was taught using the Guided Inquiry learning model. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in learning outcomes between the two classes with an average posttest score of students in experimental class I of 74 and an average posttest score of students in experimental class II of 82. The ability to think critically in experimental class I is prominent/dominant in analytical skills. The ability to think critically in experiment II is dominant in the ability to argue, evaluate and conclude.
