Abstract

Microcrystallin cellulose (MCC) is a pure ceullose that isolated from several alpha cellulose natural sources such as woody plants, cotton husk, or baggase. It can be applied as drug excipients in medical sector. Cellulose raw materials obtained from guava leaves as effective as a natural diarrhea medicine. This research aimed to study the addition of guava leaf to synthesis microcrystallin cellulose and to compare the characteristics microcrystallin cellulose from guava leaf with Avicel PH 102 as a standard commercial microcrystallin cellulose. The research methods consisted of several processes: 1) Extraction of guava leaves with n-Heksane dan Etanol volume comparisons variation: 3:0; 2:1; 1:2; 3:0 in 350 grams of guava leaf weight, 2) Delignification process stages using base (NaOH) solution, 3) Bleaching process with NaOCl solution , and 4) Hydrolysi processs of alpha cellulose by using dilute acid (HCl) solution at high temperature. The characteristics of microcrystallin cellulose were analyzed by organoleptic test, pH, solubility and loss on drying. The results showed that the ratio of solvent n-hexane and ethanol 2:1 volume was the optimal point obtained after observed from several tests performed has the maximum percentage of alpha cellulose is 4.11% and the percentage of microcrystallin cellulose is 3.71%. The organoleptic characteristic such as powder, white, odorless and tasteless were fine. Solubillity in water was 0.16% and pH was 5.15. The loss on drying was 5.88%. Microcrystallin cellulose from guava leaf generally met the pharmacopeia requirements and the characteristics were not significanlly different from Avicel PH 102.

Abstract

Perancangan part tiga dimensi telah berkembang dengan pesat dan semakin mudah dengan kehadiran software design seperti Autodesk Inventor. Oleh karena itu, perkembangan teknologi tersebut perlu untuk disampaikan dan diperkenalkan kepada para siswa SMK agar para siswa semakin peka dan paham terhadap kemajuan perkembangan teknologi tersebut sehingga para siswa semakin mantap dalam memasuki dunia kerja atau perguruan tinggi. Pengabdian ini ditujukan untuk memperkenalkan Autodesk Inventor kepada para siswa Kelas XII SMK Kanisius 1 Pakem. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan zoom meeting selama 2 jam karena dilaksanakan pada pandemi COVID-19. Pelatihan ini dilakukan oleh tiga dosen Insitut Sains & Teknologi AKPRIND. Pelatihan ini diawali dengan pemberian tutorial pembuatan sketsa dua dimensi benda kerja, pembangunan part tiga dimensi, pembuatan gambar teknik (engineering drawing) per part, dan diakhiri dengan pembuatan gambar rakitan (assembly drawing) dengan software tersebut. Pelatihan ini mampu memberikan dampak kepada para siswa tersebut yang ditunjukkan dengan 50% dari siswa tersebut mampu paham terhadap materi pelatihan yang telah diberikan. Pelatihan selanjutnya perlu untuk dilaksanakan agar pemahaman siswa semakin merata dalam memanfaatkan software tersebut. Kata Kunci: Pelatihan, part tiga dimensi, Autodesk Inventor, SMK Kanisius 1 Pakem.

Abstract

Water is a vital need for human life. As a country that is rich in minerals, groundwaterin Indonesia often contains high levels of iron (Fe) and manganese (Mn). In water, these twometals are always together. For humans both metals are important, but can also be toxic(poisonous). Their presence in water can be detected laboratorally and can be recognizedorganoleptically. With Fe or Mn concentration of at least 1 mg/L, the water tastes bittersour,smells bad and is brownish yellow in color. In Sedayu 1 Hamlet, Sedayu Village,Muntilan, residents complained about the appearance of brownish water in their wells. Thiswas suspected because of the Fe and Mn metals content which exceed the standard quality.Therefore, water sample testing was carried out in three locations (well water 1, well water2, and pond water) in the area. Some of the parameters tested were hardness, pH, Fe andMn metal content. The test results then were socialized to 30 residents. The value ofhardness, Fe and Mn metals in several locations were still above the permitted qualitystandards. The residents were motivated to be more wary in the water treatment. The simplemethod for processing of water contaminated with metals were by adding activated carbonadsorbents and a heating process before it can consumed directly by residents.
