Abstract

  Various community living equipment an area’s daily life; names and shapes may vary, but the function remains the same. This research uses a qualitative approach by describing and analyzing semantic lexical types in the noun category, mainly tool nouns. Lexical unit states the unity of sytemic meaning or contain meaning configuration or contain meaning configuration up to its components. The research aims to describe the noun type of Torajan languange based on the lexical component and the area of meaning using descriptive analytic methods with elicitation, note taking, and recording techniques. The findings revealed that hyponymy exists in the Torajan language, for nouns refer to equipment supporting life, such as, stationery, eating or drinking equipment, and cooking equipment. Likewise, carpentry, agricultural, fishing, sports, transportation, military, sewing, and worship equipment.AbstrakBerbagai peralatan hidup masyarakat untuk mendukung kehidupan sehari-hari suatu daerah,  nama atau pun bentuknya dapat berbeda-beda, tetapi fungsinya dapat saja sama. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis tipe semantik leksikal pada kategori nomina khususnya nomina alat. Satuan leksikal menyatakan kesatuan makna yang bersistem atau mengandung konfigurasi makna yang dapat dijelaskan sampai pada komponen-komponennya. Tujuan penelitin ini, yaitu mendeskripsikan tipe nomina bahasa Toraja berdasarkan komponen leksikal dan wilayah makna dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik dengan teknik elisitasi, simak catat, dan perekaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  nomina yang mengacu kepada alat yang dapat mendukung kehidupan dalam bahasa Toraja, yaitu alat tulis, alat makan/minum dan alat memasak memiliki hiponimi, alat pertukangan, alat pertanian, alat perikanan, alat olah raga, alat transportasi, alat perang, alat menjahit, dan alat ibadah.

Abstract

One of positive impacts of cultural variety owned by Indonesian people is language diversity. Different language, then, arise various literaries. One of them is Buginese literary like folklore that is classical and still understood well by its supporting community until today. As a cultural product, indigenous values implied in folklore needs to discuss about in order to make cultural heritage could go on. Many aspects could be discussed in folklore. Nevertheless, the writing is focused on the form of appreciation as moral values in folklore. The king appreciation towards his people is naming the certain place to remember their sacrifice. Then, method used is descriptive qualitative method.

Abstract

Surek Ugi Meongpalo Karellae is a culture product in the literature. Form thatdescribes human and humanity problem it contains lefe problems it is explored by the character Meongpalo Karellae who always protects and guards Datunna Sangiangseri (King of rice plant). This literary work also implies any knowledge relating to universal, moral messages, philosophy, bekef, hirtory, and ather elements that conveys unvaluable message.
