Abstract

Abstract

Typhoid fever is an acute fever caused by the salmonella bacteria which attacks the digestive tract and other organs of the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the percentage of neutrophil stab and neutrophil segments in patients with typhoid fever with titers 1/320 and to determine the morphology of neutrophil segments in patients with typhoid fever with titers 1/320. The design of this research is descriptive research, a descriptive cross-sectional study. The place and time of the study were carried out at Pekanbaru Petala Bumi General Hospital in December 2018 - June 2019. The samples used were EDTA blood patients with typhoid fever with widal 1/320 titer as many as 10 samples with non probability sampling purposive sampling. The results of this study are Neutrophil stab with a value of 2-6% as many as 2 respondents, and a value of> 6% as many as 8 respondents. Whereas in segment neutrophils with a value of 50-70% as many as 5 respondents and<50% 5 respondents. The conclusion of this study is on acute bacterial infections, Neutrophils Stab (young Neutrophils) has increased which is usually called a leftward shift (Shift to the left).Core neutrophil segment abnormalities such as hypersegmentation usually occur in infections, this hypersegmentation disorder is caused by a disruption of the neutrophil nucleus during infection.

Abstract

Nitrogen is part of the main building blocks of protein in the human body. Nitrogen is formed from the breakdown of protein by the body. In the body nitrogen is used as a raw material for the formation of amino acids. In general, the results of the body's metabolism will be excreted through the feces and some in the urine, one of which is nitrogen. With Ascaris lumbricoides infection, nitrogen metabolism will be disrupted, so that excess levels of a substance in the body will be excreted through urine and feces. Nitrogen levels in the body will be disturbed when the absorption of nutrients by the body is disturbed, one of the disturbances in nitrogen absorption is the occurrence of worm infections. The types of helminth infections that commonly occur are soil-transmitted helminths such as Ascaris lumbricoides worm infection. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of nitrogen levels in the feces of patients with Ascariasis infection and in normal feces. Nitrogen levels were tested by examining the nitrogen levels in the feces which contained Ascaris worm eggs in the stool specimen. The results showed that nitrogen levels in feces infected by worms included sample A nitrogen content of 0.19%, sample B obtained nitrogen content of 2.16%, and nitrogen content in sample C was 2.05% with an average of 1.46% while This nitrogen indicates that there is an increase in nitrogen levels in the body due to ascariasis infection in the body.

Abstract

Nitrogen is a very important element for organisms. Nitrogen in the body is also an element that has a very large role in the formation of proteins, which are the main compounds in organisms. All forms of compounds in the body, metabolic waste will be excreted in the form of feces. Feces are expelled from the human body through the anus as waste material from the digestive process of food along the digestive tract system. The purpose of this study was to determine normal levels of nitrogen in feces. The method used in this research is a laboratory experiment. Testing for nitrogen levels is done by checking the nitrogen levels in normal feces (not infected with STH). The results showed that the nitrogen content in the feces of sample A was 0.19%, in sample B the nitrogen content was 0.24%, and the nitrogen content in sample C was 0.25%. From this study, it was obtained that the average nitrogen content in normal feces in adults was 0.22%. Keywords: Nitrogen, Normal Stool, Adults, non sth . infection
