<![CDATA[ABSTRAKPenelitian ini berjudul “Upaya Guru Dalam Membangun Komunikasi Interpersonal Dengan Siswa Autis Saat Proses Belajar Mengajar di SMPLB YPAC Banda Aceh”. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui upaya guru dalam komunikasi interpersonal dengan siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori interaksionisme simbolik yang berasumsi pentingnya makna bagi perilaku manusia, manusia bertindak terhadap manusia lainnya berdasarkan makna yang diberikan orang lain kepada mereka, dan makna diciptakan dalam interaksi antar manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang berjenis deskriptif. Pada penelitian kualitatif tidak dikenal istilah sampel. Penelitian kualitatif sampel dikenal informan atau subjek penelitian. Informan atau subjek yang dipilih untuk diwawancarai sesuai dengan tujuan penelitian, yang terdiri dari 5 orang guru di SMPLB YPAC Banda Aceh. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Upaya guru dalam membangun komunikasi interpersonal dengan siswa terjalin dengan efektif, strategi komunikasi efektif yang diaplikasikan oleh guru di SMPLB YPAC Banda Aceh adalah sikap menghargai, empati, dapat didengarkan dan dimengerti, Keterbukaan, dan sikap rendah hati. Komunikasi interpersonal dapat menciptakan keakraban dan kedekatan antara guru dengan siswanya, Oleh karena itu dengan adanya kedekatan tersebut proses belajar berjalan dengan baik walaupun proses penyampaian pesan dominan menggunakan komunikasi non verbal. Faktor yang menjadi pendukung berhasilnya membangun komunikasi interpersonal dengan siswa autis adalah guru sebagai komunikator memiliki kemampuan atau kredibilitas yang tinggi dalam mengelola dan menyampaikan pesan sehingga pesan tersebut mudah di pahami oleh siswa. Sedangkan faktor yang menjadi penghambat dalam berkomunikasi interpersonal dengan siswa autis susahnya mereka dalam berkomunikasi baik komunikasi non verbal maupun verbal.Kata Kunci: Upaya, Komunikasi Interpersonal, Anak Autis. ABSTRACT The study entitled “Teacher’s Efforts to Develop Interpersonal Communication with Autistic Students during Teaching and Learning Process at SMPLB YPAC, Banda Aceh”. The aim of this research is to know the teacher’s efforts in interpersonal communication with students during teaching and learning process. The theory used in this research is the theory of symbolic interactionism that assumes the importance of meaning for human behavior. Human beings act toward others on the basis of a given meaning of others to them, and the meaning is created in human interaction. This is a qualitative descriptive research. The samples are called informants or research subjects. The informant or research subjects are selected to be interviewed according to the purpose of the research, which consisted of 5 teachers at SMPLB YPAC, Banda Aceh. The methods of data collection used in this study were observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this research showed that teacher’s efforts in developing the interpersonal communication with students is entwined effectively. The effective communication strategies applied by teachers at SMPLB YPAC, Banda Aceh are respect, emphatic, audible, clarity, and humble. Interpersonal communication can create intimacy and closeness between teachers and students. Therefore, with that closeness the teaching and learning process is going well, although the dominant message is delivered non-verbally. The factor that supports the success of this interpersonal communication with the autistic students is the teacher as the communicator that has high ability or credibility in managing and delivering the massage so that the students can understand it easily. While the factorthat hampers the interpersonal communication with the autistic students is their difficulty in communicating both verbally and non-verbally.Key Words: Effort, Interpersonal Communication, Autistic Student. ]]>
