<![CDATA[ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peranan UP3AI unsyiah dalam mengantisipasi pengaruh pemberitaan LGBT di media online terhadap mahasiswa Unsyiah, Banda Aceh. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yang menjadi informan adalah sebanyak 4 orang terdiri dari 2 orang pengurus pusat UP3AI Unsyiah dan 2 orang mahasiswa yang merupakan bagian dari pengurus UP3AI Fakultas. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan ialah wawancara dan studi dokumen. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori peran (Role Theory). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa peranan yang dilakukan oleh UP3AI Unsyiah dalam mengantisipasi pengaruh pemberitaan LGBT di media online terhadap mahasiswa yaitu mengadakan seminar tentang LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Biseksual, Transgender), mengelola akhlak, moral dan perilaku mahasiswa melalui proses mentoring dengan memberikan edukasi yang bersifat keagamaan, bekerja sama dengan semua pihak dalam mengantisipasi pengaruh LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Biseksual, Transgender) serta memberikan informasi yang bersifat edukasi kepada mahasiswa melalui media online. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa UP3AI Unsyiah memiliki peranan yang cukup besar dalam mengantisipasi pengaruh pemberitaan LGBT di media online terhadap mahasiswa Unsyiah.Kata Kunci: Peranan UP3AI, LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Biseksual, Transgender), Media OnlineThe role of UP3AI in anticipating the influence of online media report concerning LGBT toward studentsABSTRACT This study is intended to determine the role of Unsyiah in anticipating the influence of online media report concerning LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Biseksual, Transgender) toward students of Unsyiah, Banda Aceh. A descriptive qualitative method was used as the research approach. Four informants consisted of 2 central board members of UP3AI Unsyiah and 2 students who were part of UP3AI executive board at faculty level were selected as the research subjects. To collect the data, interview and document analysis were utilized while role theory was employed to analyze the data. The analysis results showed that there were several roles performed by UP3AI Unsyiah namely by conducting a seminar about LGBT; administering a mentoring class in attempt to educate students about Islamic character, moral, and behaviour; building cooperation with all parties in anticipating the influence of LGBT; and sharing educative information for students through online media. This study showed that the role of UP3AI Unsyiah was suited to the concept of ideal role suggested by role theory i.e. the role which is performed by the stakeholder. In addition, the results also referred to the role of religious sociology and the role of family sociology.
