Abstract

This paper discusses new possible efforts to internalize the values of Pancasila through a flashcard game. This is because these values can be taught in a fun way through games. Internalization of these values can be done explicitly or implicitly in several aspects of the game, namely the rules of the game, the characters, and the narrative. The discussion begins with a hermeneutic analysis of Pancasila values that will be internalized to the game participants. The method used was hermeneutics as a tool of philosophical analysis to obtain a practical concept of the philosophical values of Pancasila. Furthermore, these practical values will be used in the effort to internalize values through flashcards games. The results of the analysis were simplified so that they can be used as a narrative and reference for the game, as well as a reference for game rules. The conclusion is that the flashcards game can be used as a means of internalizing the values of Pancasila if these values can be comprehensively expressed in the narrative, flow, and rules of the game.

Abstract

This paper is an attempt to comprehend the epistemology of the Javanese worldview when it is used as the primary argument for indigenous psychology. The aim is to explore epistemology in Javanese psychology as a cultural understanding framework for the concept of knowledge and human experience. Javanese psychology is rooted in the rich Javanese tradition and philosophy, which have a unique way of understanding the universe and human existence in it. The method in this paper is literature research using the Wilhelm Dilthey hermeneutic method. The first step is describing the influence of positivism. The next steps are to discuss the concepts of metaphysics and epistemology in Rasa, and the reasons why indigenous psychology should be built upon the foundation of congruent philosophical thoughts. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the concept of Rasa will become the basis of the epistemological foundation of a new branch of indigenous psychology called Javanese psychology.

Abstract

The objectives to be achieved in this study emphasize the semiotic analysis of the tradition of sitting together in revealing the social symbols of Indonesian tradition. The method used in this study is qualitative with a hermeneutic approach where researchers use meaning and text or social phenomena contained in the history of the culture of sitting together. The results of this study indicate that interaction with technological advances is still able to maintain the existence of the culture of sitting together where this mechanism emphasizes solidarity and a sense of togetherness. Physical and face-to-face relationships cannot be replaced by socialization that is established in the digital realm considering that direct interaction with each other will create space to maintain social values and respect each other. In addition, in the future this tradition is able to provide potential on the basis of pluralism and diversity where it is based on social polarization. Thus the tradition of sitting together is still a relevant habit in social life and builds a big impact in the future.

Abstract

The Civics course in higher education plays a strategic role in developing students’ participatory competencies as citizens, particularly amid the complex social realities of peri-urban areas; however, teaching practices often remain confined to normative approaches that insufficiently accommodate students’ concrete experiences. This study aimed to analyze the influence of using reflective portfolios as an assessment component on the development of students’ participatory competencies in the Civics course at Universitas Pradita during the second semester of the 2024–2025 academic year. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a limited Classroom Action Research design involving 21 students divided into three groups. Data were collected through documentation of students’ reflective portfolios and structured interviews, then analyzed through processes of data reduction, categorization, and interpretation based on the framework of civic knowledge, civic skills, and civic disposition. The findings show that reflective portfolios are effective in strengthening students’ conceptual understanding of citizenship issues, developing participatory skills and public communication, and fostering empathy and participatory awareness as citizens. The study concludes that reflective portfolios function not only as assessment instruments but also as transformative learning media that are relevant to students’ social context, thereby underscoring the importance of integrating reflective assessment into Civics learning to support character education and the formation of active and responsible citizens.
