Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease group with hiperglikemi characteristics that occur due to abnormalities of insulin secretion, insulin work or both.Food play an important role in providing nutrition for diabetics.Intake of foods containing carbs, protein and fat is an important nutrient, extra food for diabetics in the form of low-calorie sugar, milk, biscuits, yogurt, whole wheat bread, oats are sold commercially. Objectives: To know the difference in intake of Nutrients Macro Against Diabetes mellitus type II Sufferers consume such foods because commercial foods providing nutrients according to needs, and deliver practical benefits. Method: This is an observational cross sectional design research. It was carried out in April-May 2018. Samples gathered at the RSUD Dr. M Yunus Bengkulu and selected by purposive sampling in accordance to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Total sample were 33 respondents. This research used the FFQ for intake data.The data were tested using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, independent t-test. Results: The majority of respondents were women. Respondents who choose to consume commercial foods were 63.6%, the rest (36.4%) chose not to consume commercial food. The results of this research obtained no difference between macro-nutrients intake in diabetes mellitus type II patient that consumes commercial and non commercial food (p value: 0.32), energy intake (p value: 0.67), protein intake (p value: 0.94) and fat intake (p value: 0.11) carbohydrates intake. Conclusion : Diabetics mellitus patients can consume commercial foods recommended for diabetes mellitus diet.

Abstract

The nutritional fulfillment in childhood is an important period because this time is also known as the first thousand days of life divided into two important times, namely 270 days (9 months) in the womb and 730 days (2 years) after babies born to children Two years old. The purpose of this research is to know the relationship of maternal knowledge and nutrient intake of macro nutrients with the incidence of malnutrition in infants aged 12-24 months in the village Panorama of Bengkulu in 2019. The study uses analytical observational design with a case control approach. The technique used is Purposive Sampling with a sample number of 30 toddlers. The results of this study using Chi-Square test analysis showed that there is a relationship between mother knowledge and macro nutrient intake with less nutritional incidence with value (P-value ≤ 0.05). Maternal knowledge (P-value 0.014), energy (P-value 0.023), Protein (P-value 0.009), FAT (p-value 0.020), carbohydrates (p-value 0.027). This research advises people to pay more attention to the nutrient intake of macro nutrients for better child growth and development. As well as active in posyandu activities and nutritional consultation so that mothers get knowledge about nutrients needed for toddlers.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease known as the silent killer and the parent of hypertension, heart and blood vessel disease, stroke, kidney failure, and blindness. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between food intake, cholesterol levels and blood sugar levels in Bengkulu City. Analytical observational research design with a cross sectional approach. The research was carried out in the working area of the Telaga Dewa Health Center, Bengkulu City. The time of the study was carried out in August–November 2020. The study population was adult women aged 25-65 years. Sampling by random sampling with cluster sampling method amounted to 125 people. Univariate and bivariate data analysis with Spearman correlation test. The results showed that the average age of the respondents was 44 years, the average body mass index was 25.6, the median fasting blood sugar level of 90 was at least 51 and the maximum was 357, food intake (carbohydrates, fiber) was still below the nutritional adequacy rate and the median cholesterol level. 194 mg/dl minimum 106 and maximum 104. There is no relationship between food intake, cholesterol levels and blood sugar levels. There is a relationship between age and fasting blood sugar levels of adult women in Bengkulu City.
