Abstract

Class of pregnant mother means a group of pregnant women those learn health of pregnancy through discussion and sharing experiences. The members improve their knowledge and skills related childbirth, postpartum care, newborn care, myths, infectious diseases and birth certificates. There are 117 pregnant women (about 25% from total class members) do not pass the pregnancy class, and about 42 mothers from each 366 mothers in total decide to deliver their baby with herbalist. This research aims to investigate the determinants of decision making among pregnant mother related to with whom they will deliver their futurebaby. The research design employed is study analytic where apply cross sectional approach. Sample is chosen among 117 pregnancy class members on period August to September 2013 at Puskesmas in Jatinegara district. The result show us that factor influence the decision made are variables related parity, education, knowledge, attitudes, frequency of visits and health personnel support. Therefore, most related variable is health support namely p value=0,000 and OR=25,267. Suggestion: increasing the number formation of a new pregnancy class in order to monitor pregnancy progress, immediate clinical decision when at risk, as well as husband involvement and participation to accompany pregnant mother at pregnancy class.

Abstract

Class of pregnant women means a group of pregnant women those learn about health of pregnant together. The members attend several meeting with midwifery to improve their knowledge and skills telated pregnancy topics, including childbirth, postpartum care, newborn care, myths, infectious diseases and birth certificates. In short, the class discusses and shares experiences among pregnant women and to health workers about the health of mother and child (Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak: KIA) themes. This study group activity called "Classes For Pregnant Women". Problem Summary: There are pregnant women who do not pass the class of 117 pregnant women (25%) and about 366 people outside the delivery area of 366 people found childbirth by herbalists for 42 people. Knowing the purpose of decision-making in planning determinant of labor in pregnant womenPopulation and sample: all pregnant women pregnant women class period August-September 2013 in the sub-district health centers Jatinegara. The study sample of 117 pregnant women with class participants. Research Method used analytical study design type cross sectional. Result analysis: Variables related, parity, education, knowledge, attitudes, frequency of visits and health personnel support. Suggestion: increase the formation of a new class of pregnant women to pregnancy can be monitored and parents can immediately take clinical decisions when the risk occurs.

Abstract

One important effort that has been implemented by the Government of Indonesia to accelerate the reduction of MMR (Maternal Mortality Rate) and IMR (InfantMortality Rate) in Indonesia is narrowing the distance between health care services and community. Midwife graduates in choosing a job is influenced by the readiness of the knowledge and skills. Study aimed to investigate the perception of the relationship with the midwife profession workplace elections. This study uses survey research design cross sectional analytic approach. The respondents were Graduate Diploma of Midwifery a number of 115 people. Study results showed 59.1 % have a good perception, but only 21.7 % students who chose to work in the rural . Another variable results showed 51 % students motivation , 63.5 % with interest in accordance with the profession , 82.6 % expect an increase in financial , 74.8 % with good family support , and 93% expect an increase in career . The results of the bivariate analysis there was no significant association with the perception of the election work in the rural with a p value of 0.43 . The variables that most influence on the workplace is a career path variable ( B = 1.007 ). Good perception does not make students have a desire to work in the rural. Improvement of career path is the reason for choosing to work in the city.
