Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of self-concept and emotional intelligence on students' decision making abilities. This research was conducted in eighth grade students of junior high schools in the city of Depok. Determination of the sample is done using cluster random sampling obtained by the sample size of 40 students. The method used to investigate the magnitude of the effect is to use multiple linear regression. Based on the results of research that has been done obtained information that there is a significant influence between self-concept and emotional intelligence on the decision-making abilities of students. The influence of self-concept and emotional intelligence separately on the ability of decision making were 21.72% and 28.09%, respectively. While the influence of the two independent variables together is equal to 81.7%. This illustrates that self-concept and emotional intelligence are important components that must be considered by educators in particular, in developing decision-making abilities.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide training to teaching staff at the Ratu Jaya 3 State Elementary School (SDN) in Depok City regarding variations in the learning process, due to the existence and the important role of an educator as a learning facilitator for students. The application of instructional media is also referred to as one of the physical means or intermediaries used in the process of interaction that takes place between the teacher and students to encourage the occurrence of teaching and learning with the aim of gaining knowledge, skills and strengthening what is learned and helps to achieve quality learning goals. The implementation of community service uses several methods, namely, presentation, discussion of teaching demonstration and evaluation. This training is given to participants to get references on creative, innovative and fun learning that can be used in the learning process. Of all the results obtained by the participants from community service activities, this will certainly improve the competence of teachers in teaching.
