Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk menentukan aktivitas antioksidan dari beberapa rempah-rempah masakanMinahasa, yaitu batang sereh, daun kemangi dan daun pandan serta formula yang dibuat dengan kombinasirempah-rempah tersebut.Di dalam penelitian ditentukan kandungan total fenol, aktivitas penangkal radikal bebas dan kandungan totalantioksidan. Penentuan total fenol dilakukan menurut metode Folin-Ciocalteu, penentuan aktivitas penangkalradikal bebas menggunakan metode DPPH. Penentuan total antioksidan dilakukan menurut metode FRAP.Perubahan warna yang terjadi dalam setiap reaksi diukur dengan spektrofotometer Milton-Roy (visible).Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa sereh dan formula B (sereh + kemangi) memiliki aktivitasantioksidan paling tinggi. Sereh memiliki total fenol sebesar 42,959 mg/kg ekstrak, aktivitas penangkal radikalbebas sebesar 64,85 %, dan total antioksidan sebesar 104 µmol/L. Formula B (sereh + kemangi) memiliki totalfenol sebesar 169,082 mg/kg ekstrak, aktivitas penangkal radikal bebas sebesar 80,39 %, dan total antioksidansebesar 120,875 µmol/L. Dari hasil yang diperoleh dapat diketahui bahwa efek antioksidan akan lebih besar jikamenggunakan kombinasi dari rempah-rempah tersebut.Kata kunci : antioksidan, rempah, fenol, Minahasa

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan jumlah KOH yang dibutuhkan untuk direaksikan dengan VCO mengandung karotenoid wortel dalam pembuatan sabun mandi cair yang berkualitas berdasarkan uji SNI No. 06-4085-1996. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode bilangan penyabunan dan penentuan Kualitas sabun Mandi Cair berdasarkan SNI No. 06-4085-1996. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa bilangan penyabunan dari VCO mengandung karotenoid wortel sebesar 219,43 mg. Sabun mandi cair yang dihasilkan dalam penelitian ini telah memenuhi SNI berdasarkan parameter uji keadaan, pH sebesar (10,12), alkali bebas sebesar (0%), bahan aktif sebesar (18,10%), dan angka lempeng total (<10). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa sabun mandi cair dapat dihasilkan dari VCO mengandung karotenoid wortel, dengan jumlah KOH yang dibutuhkan untuk direasikan dengan minyak sesuai bilangan penyabunan yaitu sebesar 219,43 mg. Sabun mandi cair yang dihasilkan memenuhi SNI No. 06-4085-1996.ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the amount of KOH needed to be reacted with VCO carrots contain carotenoids in the manufacture of liquid soap of quality based on test SNI No. 06-4085-1996. The method used in this research is the method of saponification and determination of the quality of liquid bath soap based SNI No. 06-4085-1996. Results showed that the saponification of VCO carrots contain carotenoids amounting to 219.43 mg. Shower gel produced in this study have met the SNI is based on state test parameters, the pH of (10.12), alkali-free at (0%), the active ingredient of (18.10%), and total plate count (<10) , The study concluded that the liquid soap can be produced from the VCO carrots contain carotenoids, with the amount of KOH needed to direasikan with appropriate oil saponification in the amount of 219.43 mg. Shower gel produced meet SNI No. 06-4085-1996.

Abstract

A research has been done to analyze the phytochemical of medicine plant used by North Minahasa society. The research done qualitatively to know the present of alkaloid component, flavonoid, triterpenoid, steroid, saponin, and tannin. Analyzes of alkaloid component using Mayer, Dragendorff and Wagner reagents showed presipitate when react with alkaloid. Mayer reagent showed white presipitate, Dragendorff reagent showed red-orange presipitate and Wagner reagen showed brown presipitate. In flavonoid analysis, positive result indicated with red solution. Saponim analysis indicated with a stable foam. Tannins analysis indicated with green and blue-black solution and triterpenoid analysis indicated with red-orange or purple solution. Although the steroida analysis indicated with blue solution. The result show that 46 samples from 46 spesies of medicine plant that had been analyzed are 97,83% positive containing alkaloid component; 13,04% containing triterpenoid; 28,26% containing steroid; 47,83% containing flavonoid; 63,04% containing saponin and 63,44% containing tannin.

Abstract

ABSTRACTKamu, V. S, 2011. Utilization of pepaya rind extract in VCO production process.A research was done to determine optimum concentration of papaya rind extract in VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil)production process. Concentration of pepaya rind extracts were 10, 20 and 30% used in VCO productionprocess. VCO yield from the process were determine and purified with activated carbon and zeolite, thus storedfor 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks. Purified VCO were evaluated its moisture content and free fatty acid. Data wereanalyzed by ANOVA from two replication data by SPSS 15.0.The results show that optimum yield of VCO came from concentration of papaya rind extract 20% was 21,9 %.Purifying oil ((VCO) with adsorbent reduce moisture content and fre fatty acid content significantly, so oil quality(VCO) become better, and the best adsorbent is active carbon.Keywords : virgin coconut oil, papaya, moisture content, adsorbent

Abstract

ABSTRACTFatimah, F and M. Sangi, 2010. Purifying quality of virgin coconut oil using adsorbens.A Study has been carried out to know the influence of purification use some adsorben on quality of virgin coconut oil ( VCO). The adsorben where used was ash of paddy husk, active charcoal and natural zeolite. TheVCO quality measured by water and free fatty acid contents and peroxide number. The experimental result showed that the highest recovery was VCO that filtered use zeolite. Each type of adsorben gave the different influence to quality VCO. Ash of paddy husk represent the best adsorben in degrading water content (72,29 %) and free fatty acid (39,10 %), while natural zeolite represent the best adsorben in degrading number of peroxide VCO (74,549 %).Keywords : virgin coconut oil, adsorben, ash of paddy husk, active charcoal, zeolite

Abstract

Tepung pelepah aren secara tradisional digunakan sebagai obat untuk menghilangkan rasa gatal dan luka bakar pada kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji aktivitas anti-inflamasi ekstrak etanol tepung pelepah aren (Arenga pinnanta) menggunakan metode induksi karagenan. Ekstrak etanol tepung pelepah aren yang digunakan didapatkan dari hasil maserasi tepung pelepah aren menggunakan etanol hasil redestilasi cap tikus. Metode pengujian aktivitas anti-inflamasi menggunakan 15 ekor tikus putih jantan galur wistar dengan berat 150-200 gram yang dibagi dalam 5 kelompok perlakuan, Kelompok Kontrol negative, Kontrol Positif dan kelompok dosis ekstrak etanol 20%, 25% dan 30%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan kelompok ekstrak etanol tepung pelepah aren dosis 30% memiliki kemampuan inhibisi udem yang sama dengan kontrol positif (Na Diklofenak) dan memiliki kemampuan inhibisi yang lebih besar dibandingkan dosis 20% dan 25%.ABSTRACTPalm stem flour is traditionally used as a remedy for the relief of itching and burns on the skin. This research aims to test the anti-inflammatory activity of palm-flour (Arenga pinnanta) ethanol extract using Caragenan induction method. Palm-dried stem flour extract used from the maceration of palm flour, using ethanol redestilation of rat seals. The method of testing anti-inflammatory activity using 15 male white rats with Wistar strain with a weight of 150-200 grams divided into 5 treatment groups, negative control group, positive control and group dose of ethanol extract 20%, 25% and 30%. The results of this study showed that the group of dried palm flour extract dose 30% have the same inhibition capability with positive control (Na Diklofenak) and have greater inhibition capability compared to the dose 20% and 25%.
