Abstract

This research will be conducted in Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, where the Akit Tribe is domiciled. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the rationality construction of school dropouts in the Akit Tribe community, Purposive is used in this study and to determine the criteria of the research subject as a source of information in this study, key informants will be determined such as the village head of Berancah, Batin or the traditional chief of the Tribe. Akit, the Principal at SD Berancah, and the surrounding community who will also be triangulated to get more complete information. Informants in this study will determine which children who have dropped out of school will be taken from secondary data from the school. The analysis of this study uses a qualitative descriptive by interviewing the research subjects in depth.

Abstract

As a social problem, the forest fire disaster in Riau Province requires a systematic response, such as through social policies. This article will discuss forest fire disaster management policies. The findings of this article indicate that disaster management policies should take a gender mainstreaming approach when developing policy frameworks and implementing them. In addition, effective policies require collaboration among disaster stakeholders.

Abstract

Tradisi mandoa padang merupakan usaha yang di lakukan para petani memohon dan meminta kepada sang pencipta agar diberikan keselamatan tahun berupa tanah yang subur, terhindar dari bencana alam, hama penyakit dan dapat memberikan hasil panen padi yang berlimpah pada masyarakat desa Danau kecamatan Kuantan Hilir Seberang Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi. Di sebut Tradisi Mandoa Padang karena prosesi mandoa dilakukan di balai desa dan tanah ladang di sebut padang. Sehingga tradisi ini masih terus di laksanakan dan dapat bertahan hingga sekarang. Metode penelitian yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang penulis gunakan analisis deskriptif yaitu berusaha menggambarkan dan menginterpretasikan objek sesuai dengan apa adanya (mandoa padang). Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa tradisi – tradisi Mandoa Padang merupakan wujud pewarisan tradisi nenek moyang dengan adanya dorongan dari para ninik mamak bertujuan berdoa kepada Allah SWT agar diberikan keselamatan tahun pada persawahan atau padi para petani seperti tanah menjadi subur, terhindar dari bencana alam, penyakit, hama padi dan mendapatkan hasil padi yang melimpah. Selain itu, berarti masyarakat masih menjaga dan mempertahankan tradisi nenek moyang dan melengkapi kegiatan tahunan mereka. Temuan penelitian ini selanjutnya tentang masyarakat yang dapat dilihat dari antusias masyarakat dalam bekerja sama dalam segala hal demi kelancaran pelaksanaan mandoa padang seperti gotong royong, memotong dan memasak sapi, membuat jambar godang serta mempererat hubungan tali silaturrahmi.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impulsive consumption behavior of students who use paylater services and the correlation between Paylater and students' impulsive behavior, using Jean Baudrillard's consumerism theory. This study uses a qualitative approach, by conducting in-depth interviews with students from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Riau, who actively use paylater services for their shopping activities. The results show that students' impulsive consumption behavior is more influenced by signal factors, such as the pursuit of social status and the formation of group identity, rather than considering the functional needs of goods. Consumption is not only interpreted as fulfilling needs, but also as a means of representing self-image and following emerging trends on social media. The role of social media, especially TikTok and Instagram, as well as various promotions offered through Paylater, Paylater not only functions as a payment tool, but also influences students' consumption patterns, where the intensity of use is correlated with increased impulsive buying behavior, especially among students who are still in the stage of learning financial management and self-control. Sociologically. This study concludes that impulsive consumption behavior among college students is influenced not only by economic factors but also by social dynamics and sign values, which are further reinforced by the existence of pay-later services, a tool that facilitates impulse purchases. These findings underscore the importance of improving financial literacy among college students to manage consumption behavior more wisely and responsibly.
