The concept of participational design is a concept that considers social behavior. This consideration can be seen as the base of participational relationship between the user and the design process and would be the main consideration in the design created. The concept of participational design in the interior space of autist children's therapy room highly considers the autist child's character and the method of therapy executed so that the criteria and space needed can meet the demand of austist children. The physical environment suitable for the condition of the user can bring great influence to the therapy activity. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Konsep desain partisipasi merupakan sebuah konsep yang mempertimbangkan perilaku sosial, pertimbangan tersebut akan terlihat sebagai titik tolak hubungan partisipasi antar pengguna dalam proses desain dan akan menjadi pertimbangan utama dalam perwujudan desain yang diciptakannya. Konsep desain partisipasi dalam interior ruang terapi perilaku anak autis sangat mempertimbangkan karakter anak dan metode terapi yang digunakan sehingga kriteria dan perwujudan ruang yang dibutuhkan dapat memenuhi tuntutan anak autis. Lingkungan fisik yang sesuai dengan kondisi pengguna dapat memberikan pengaruh cukup besar bagi kegiatan terapi. Kata kunci: desain partisipasi, ruang terapi perilaku untuk anak autis

The concept of participation design in the interior of a therapy room for autistic behavior in children truly considers the character of children with autism and methods of therapy used so that the criteria and the embodiment of space can meet the demands of autistic children. The physical environment that is suitable with the condition of the user can bring great influence to the therapy activities. The purpose of this research is to implement the design concept of participation as the basis in designing the interior of the therapy room for autistic children. The concept of participation design is implemented in the furniture arrangement, space-forming elements and the furniture.

The successful of human healing process is a complexity which is connected between fisiological condition and psychological condition (inner mind) of human being. Both of them have contribution in healing process. To support the patient's psychological condition, it needs to be created a healt and comfort environment, in term psychologically can give positive support for healing process. Interior design in hospital is a made-environment which its existence has a direc relationshipwith patient. By element of design for example color, it can be created an environment or atmosphere of space which supports healing process. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Keberhasilan proses penyembuhan manusia merupakan kompleksitas yang terjalin antara kondisi fisiologis dengan kondisi psikologis (inner mind) manusia. Keduanya mempunyai kontribusi dalam proses penyembuhan. Untuk mendukung kondisi psikologis pasien perlu diciptakan lingkungan yang menyehatkan, nyaman, dalam arti secara psikologis lingkungan memberikan dukungan positif bagi proses penyembuhan. Desain interior dalam rumah sakit merupakan lingkungan binaan yang keberadaannya berhubungan langsung dengan pasien. Melalui elemen-elemen desain seperti warna, dapat diciptakan sebuah lingkungan atau suasana ruang yang dapat mendukung proses penyembuhan. Kata kunci : warna, desain interior, proses penyembuhan.

A food court is an important public facilty in a shopping centre. Apart from its generally large capacity and variety of cuisine served, the design of most foodcourts are also generally attractive.Their interior designs are able to affect the atmoshphere and mood of visitors.Many foodcourts in todayâ€™s malls adopt the postmodern style in their design, for instance, the Galaxy Mall in Surabaya, which will be the object for case study in this research. The objective of this research is to investigate the implementation of the Post modern style in the interior elements of the food court that will be discussed in detail. The research findings show that the use of Post modern style can be seen in the spatial arrangement, interior elements such as floors, walls and ceilings, furnitures as well as decorative elements such as colour and material. All these elements adopted the Post Modern style in terms of ideology, concept, aim as well as design methodology. The concept of Contradiction has been applied in the two areas of the food court.

The improvement of the development of information communication technology seen through the presence of various technological features provides people with various eases of communication and choices to work anywhere and anytime. The development of information communication technology has become a phenomenon that can change the way people work and the presence of a geo-office, an office that can be geographically located anywhere, has to be considered. This is the essence of the development of information communication technology. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Kemajuan perkembangan teknologi komunikasi informasi dengan kehadiran berbagai fitur-fitur teknologi memberikan berbagai kemudahan berkomunikasi dan pilihan-pilihan untuk bekerja di mana saja dan kapan saja. Perkembangan teknologi komunikasi informasi menjadi sebuah fenomena yang mengubah cara bekerja dan kehadiran geo-office, kantor yang secara geografis bisa berada di mana-mana perlu dipertimbangkan, ini adalah esensi kemajuan teknologi komunikasi informasi. In the pre-school ages, children developed very rapid physically, cognitively, emotionally as well as socially. This has a great impact for their future. A kindergarten as their first formal educational institution is a means to help provide the stimuli and support for them in their growing period and their development. The factors which contributes to the children development at the kindergarten are the quality of teachers, activity programs, and physical surroundings. In order that the activity programs can be carried out smoothly and the children development can be optimal, there should be supporting factors such as classrooms as part of the physical surroundings, which can meet the needs for the development of pre-school children. Colours can support the condition of classroom interior which contributes to the learning activities suitable to the children's need to develop them optimally Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Pada usia prasekolah anak-anak akan mengalami perkembangan yang sangat cepat dari segi fisik, kognitif, emosi maupun sosial. Hal ini akan sangat berpengaruh pada masa depan anak kelak. Taman kanak-kanak sebagai lembaga pendidikan formal pertama merupakan salah satu sarana untuk membantu memberi rangsangan dan dukungan dalam masa pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak sesuai dengan sifat-sifat alam. Faktor-faktor yang berperan dalam menunjang perkembangan anak di taman kanak-kanak adalah kualitas guru, program kegiatan dan lingkungan fisik. Agar program kegiatan dapat berjalan dengan baik dan perkembangan anak optimal, maka perlu didukung oleh ruang kelas sebagai bagian dari lingkungan fisik, yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan perkembangan anak. Warna dapat berperan dalam mendukung kondisi interior kelas yang menunjang program kegiatan belajar sesuai kebutuhan anak agar perkembangan mereka dapat optimal. Basicaly every child has a potentiality to be creative, although the level of his creativity is different. Creativity, like other potentialities, needs to be given an opportunity and stimulation byhis environment to grow. The development of a child's creativity is influenced not only by the psychological environment, but the physical environment also has a big influence. The interior space as one of the physical environment can be a good support for the development of a child's creativity, as an external stimulus. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Pada dasarnya setiap anak memiliki potensi untuk kreatif, walaupun tingkat kreativitasnya berbeda-beda. Kreativitas, seperti halnya setiap potensi lain, perlu diberi kesempatan dan rangsang oleh lingkungan untuk berkembang. Perkembangkan kreativitas anak bukan hanya dipengaruhi oleh lingkungan psikis saja, tetapi lingkungan fisik juga memiliki andil yang cukup besar. Ruang interior sebagai salah satu lingkungan fisik dapat berperan sebagai pendorong atau "press" untuk mengembangkan kreativitas anak, sebagai stimuli eksternal. Gaya desain sebuah food court akan sangat mempengaruhi ketertarikan dan suasana yang tercipta bagi para pengunjung yang berada di dalamnya. Gaya desain pada interior food court Tunjungan Plaza 1 Surabaya mencerminkan sebuah gaya desain postmodern yang kaya akan warna cerah dan pencampuran berbagai macam gaya yang cukup menarik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan gaya desain Postmodern menurut prinsip-prinsip Robert Venturi pada interior Studio food court Tunjungan Plaza 1 Surabaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan gaya desain postmodern padaÂ Studio food court ini terlihat pada bentuk layout, elemen pembentuk ruang seperti lantai, dinding, plafon dan perabotnya, dilihat dari segi bentuk, warna dan keberagaman material yang digunakan. GayaÂ desain posmodern ini paling banyak diterapkan pada elemen plafon, ada 8 prinsip yang diterapkan. Penggabungan berbagai jenis material, warna, dan bentuk pada plafon food court ini yang paling mempengaruhi gaya desain interior food court Tunjungan Plaza 1. Prinsip terbanyak yang diterapkan pada Studio food court ini adalah prinsip kompleksitas dan kontradiktif

Church of Redemptor Mundi is a catholic church which has a Javanese style of design in Dukuh Kupang Barat I no 7 Surabaya. In the church encyclopedia it was said that catholic church was not separated from inculturation, a process in which a religion adapts to the local culture. This fact becomes the base of the every arrangement decided in the church, while also considering the church liturgy. The aim of this research is to identify the phyisical elements of the church of Redemptor Mundi that has undergone inculturation with the Javanese culture, and to identify the elements that contain the same meaning with the liturgy and thus they equally support themselves as symbols in the Catholic church. Though this research, it was found that not all of the physical elements in Redemptor Mundi church, have undergone inculturation. The elements that do not have similar meaning are only used decoration to show the existence of Javanese culture in the church. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Gereja Redemptor Mundi merupakan gereja Katolik bergaya Jawa yang berlokasi di jalan Dukuh Kupang Barat I no. 7 Surabaya. Inkulturasi dalam aturan gereja Katolik harus ada dan tidak dapat dipisahkan satu sama lain. Setiap daerah memiliki bermacam-macam kebudayaan yang berbeda-beda, untuk itu dasar-dasar liturgi tersebut harus dapat bersatu dan sejalan dengan kebudayaan yang ada, artinya kebudayaan yang ada harus dapat menerima dasar-dasar tersebut dan memberi peluang adanya hubungan timbal balik antara budaya gereja dengan budaya setempat, dalam penelitian ini budaya Jawa, dimana dasar-dasar tersebut akan tumbuh dan berkembang. Hal inilah yang mendasari penataan tiap gereja Katolik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui sejauh mana inkulturasi budaya Jawa pada unsur-unsur fisik interior gereja Katolik Redemptor Mundi. Dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa tidak keseluruhan unsur fisik pada gereja Redemptor Mundi mengalami inkulturasi, elemen yang tidak memiliki kesamaaan makna tersebut digunakan sebagai elemen dekorasi saja untuk menunjukkan keberadaan budaya Jawa dalam interior gereja tersebut. The Sanggar Agung Temple in Surabaya has an extraordinary form when compared to other temples in Indonesia, not only physically but also in relation to aspects of function and meaning. This research observes the relationship between the form, function and meaning of ornaments applied in the interior of the Sanggar Agung Temple in Surabaya, using the iconographical approach. The results show that the ornaments applied in the interior of the temple are mostly traditional ornaments from Bali. However, the Balinese ornaments used are more plain in form and are not as complex as those produced in Bali. This is because the owner of the temple hired a designer from Bali. From the functional point of view,it is found that the meaning of these ornaments convey Tri Dharma teachings. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Klenteng Sanggar Agung Surabaya menunjukkan bentuk yang tidak umum pada klenteng di Indonesia. Bentuk dalam hal ini tidak berdiri sendiri tetapi terkait erat dengan aspek fungsi dan makna. Penelitian ini mengkaji hubungan antara bentuk, fungsi, dan makna ornamen pada interior Klenteng Sanggar Agung Surabaya, dengan pendekatan ikonografi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ornamen-ornamen yang ada pada interior bangunan itu didominasi oleh ornamen-ornamen tradisional Bali. Tetapi, ornamen-ornamen Bali yang digunakan di sini polos, tidak serumit ornamen-ornamen yang dibuat oleh orang Bali. Hal ini bisa terwujud karena pemilik klenteng menyewa seorang desainer dari Bali. Dari segi fungsi, makna ornamen-ornamen tersebut masih merujuk pada ajaran Tri Dharma. Kata kunci: Bentuk, fungsi, makna dan ornamen klenteng
