Abstract

ABSTRACT Strawbery is one of the most important fruits commodity in the world, especially for the subtropics countries. Although the strawberry is not a native to Indonesia, but its development which is patterned by the agribussiness and agro-industries can be categorized as one of the income sources  in the agricultural sector. Despite the development of strawberries in Indonesia continues to increase, but when compared with overseas, the strawberry business in Indonesia has not optimally performed. The purposes of this study are to assess and to explain the strawberry crop agri-businesses in the Rurukan Village of East Tomohon District. The results showed that in general, the farming cultivation of strawberry, consisted of: land cultivation, the nursery, and media plant cultivation. It was very important to manage the successful development by the farmers, i.e.: the technique of strawberry planting. Keywords : agribusiness, crop strawberry ABSTRAK Pelaksanaan sistem penempatan yang benar dimaksudkan agar stroberi menjadi salah satu komoditas buah-buahan yang penting di dunia, terutama untuk negara-negara beriklim subtropis. Abstract

The objective of this research is to assess the impact of PGPR, Trichocompost, and MOL on the growth and quality of production, as well as the incidence of disease-causing microorganisms in tomato plants. This study will be conducted by comparing the use of beneficial organic microorganisms namely PGPR, Trichocompost, and MOL with inorganic farming systems that utilize synthetic fertilizers and manure as sources of nutrition for tomato plants. The research method employed a randomized block design consisting of three treatments as follows: Treatment A involved a combination of PGPR, Trichocompost, and MOL; Treatment B utilized inorganic fertilizers N, P, K along with foliar fertilizers Gandasil D and B; Treatment C consisted of chicken manure. Each treatment was replicated five times, with 50 plants per plot, resulting in a total of 750 plants for observation. The results indicated that the application of PGPR, Trichocompost, and MOL positively influenced the average flowering time, the average weight of 50 fruits, and the duration until fruit decay during the growth, development, and production phases of tomato plants. Furthermore, the use of PGPR, Trichocompost, and MOL effectively reduced the incidence of the fungal pathogen P. palmivora on leaves, the bacterial disease Erwinia sp. on leaves, and the fungal disease P. palmivora on fruit stems.

Abstract

Postharvest damage to potatoes can occur due to plant physiological disorders, such as evaporation (transpiration), respiration (respiration), tubers sprouting, and tubers becoming too ripe. This research aims to design, manufacture, and test an evaporative cooling device using a direct spray method from a fan into a room or box by conducting technical tests about temperature, humidity (RH), signs of potato damage, weight loss, and water content. The test was carried out using an evaporative cooling device (evaporative cooler) for 30 days.    This research tested the effectiveness of the evaporative cooling system compared to room outside storage on potato quality for 30 days observationally. The results show that evaporative cooling equipment can prolong the shelf life of fresh potatoes in tropical areas according to physical parameters such as signs of damage to potatoes during storage, water content, and percentage of weight loss. For future development, increasing the fan and cooling pad to medium size is necessary for more effective equipment. An evaporative cooler is a cost-efficient and sustainable method for preserving agricultural produce in rural areas far from urban centers.
