Abstract

Agricultural development over the past decade, is more identical tocommodity development, which focuses on meeting domestic food needs.The development of globalization, a country in this case the government,must be able to facilitate and encourage the community to developproductive activities, including developing the creative food industry,which is characterized not only by fulfilling quantity, quality, but havingselling value, or the value of excellence product specifics (prepositionvalue), and provide economic (added value). The synergy of various parties(stake holders) encourages increased production of creative food productsby intensifying : technology, information, ideas and creativity as well asskills that emerge from the community, both individual farmers andindustrial groups in the South Minahasa Regency.The objectives of this study are: 1. Identify the types and characteristicsof coconut-based food industries in South Minahasa regency and 2.Calculate the economic added value of the development of coconut-basedfood industries in South Minahasa regency. 3. Obtain appropriate methods,strategies and models for the development of a food industry based oncoconut in South Minahasa Regency. This study uses several methods,namely: descriptive method, calculation of added value according to Costerand Schaffer, 1982) and the SWOT method for obtaining methods,strategies and models for the development of creative food industries thatare suitable in South Minahasa regency. The results showed that there were3 types of development of creative food industries made from coconutwhich already existed in South Minahasa Regency, namely: 1. culinary, 2.medicines 4. research development. From this type of creative foodindustry, it has provided real economic added value for farmers, industrialgroups and macro for the economic growth of the community, whenapplying methods, strategies and models that match the potential andcharacteristics in South Minahasa Regency.Keywords: development, creative food industry, coconut raw materials

Abstract

The coconut husk is the outermost part of the coconut fruit that covers the coconut shell whereas one coconut contains 35% husk. In several areas, including in North Sulawesi, a lot of coconut husk is still being thrown away or left in the garden. Coconut husk has a potentially utilized energy capacity. For this reason, the idea arose to make a stove for energy utilization from coconut husk waste with a gasification system. The purpose of this study was to design and technically test a household-scale coconut husk stove with a gasification system. The research method was carried out by design and experimental testing, then the resulting data were analyzed descriptively. In this study, two types of stoves were designed and manufactured which were practical for application on a household scale using a gasification system made from coconut coir. The first stove that uses an air blower can reach a temperature of 740 ℃ and is tested with 1.5 liters of water, so the water can boil for 9 minutes. The second stove, which does not use an air blower, can boil 1.5 liters of water for 11 minutes at a temperature of 608℃. Both stoves have a waiting time to produce gas that is not much different, which is about 3 minutes with an initial fuel mass of 300 g. The results of economic calculations show that the cost of making this stove is relatively cheap and easy to maintain. However, the raw material for coconut coir runs out quickly and requires several replenishments of raw materials. Keywords: Stove, household scale, gasification, coconut husk. Abstrak Sabut kelapa merupakan bagian terluar buah kelapa yang membungkus tempurung kelapa dimana dalam satu butir buah kelapa mengandung 35% sabut. Di beberapa daerah termasuk di Sulawesi Utara, sabut kelapa masih banyak yang dibuang atau dibiarkan saja di kebun. Sabut kelapa mempunyai kapasitas energi yang potensial dimanfaatkan. Untuk itulah timbul ide untuk membuat kompor sebagai pengganti kompor untuk pemanfaatan energi dari limbah sabut kelapa ini dengan sistem gasifikasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membuat rancangan dan uji teknis kompor sabut kelapa skala rumah tangga dengan sistem gasifikasi. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan pembuatan dan uji  teknis alat secara eksperimental, kemudian data yang dihasilkan di analisis secara deskriptif.  Dalam penelitian ini di buat dua tipe kompor yang diharapkan dapat diaplikasikan pada skala rumah tangga dengan menggunakan sistem gasifikasi berbahan baku sabut kelapa. Kompor yang pertama yang menggunakan penghembus udara dapat mencapai suhu 740℃ dan uji coba dengan air 1,5 liter, maka air tersebut dapat mendidih selama 9 menit. Kompor yang kedua, yang tidak menggunakan penghembus udara dapat mendidihkan air 1,5 liter selama 11 menit dengan suhu mencapai 608℃. Kedua kompor mempunyai waktu tunggu untuk menghasilkan gas tidak berbeda jauh, yaitu sekitar 3 menit dengan massa bahan bakar awal 300 g. Hasil perhitungan ekonomi menunjukkan bahwa biaya pembuatan kompor ini relatif murah dan mudah pemeliharaannya. Akan tetapi bahan baku sabut kelapa cepat habis dan memerlukan beberapa kali pengisian bahan bahan baku.  Kata Kunci: Kompor, skala rumah tangga, gasifikasi, sabut kelapa.

Abstract

ABSTRACTEnergy is a crucial global issue. Demand for energy increases every year. According todata collected by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (2006) Indonesia’s oilsupply amounts to a mere 9 billion barrels, which will run out with continued consumption.To decrease dependency on fossil fuels, the government has issued Peraturan PresidenRepublik Indonesia number 5 year 2006 about National Energy Policies to developalternative renewable energy resources. Energy experts around the world are now researchingand developing renewable energy, one of which is biogas. This research is done in Totabuanvillage, district of Lolak, Bolaang Mongondow regency, using experimental methods withdescriptive analysis of the formation of biogas using biodigester technology with a permanent12 m3 dome-type reactor. Biogas started forming on the 9th day, up to the 26th day, with 12m3 of raw materials, which is a 1:1 mix of cow feces with water (6 m3 cow feces and 6 m3water), and yielded 4,68 m3 of biogas that can be used to cook for 12,3 hours. Each 1 m3 ofbiogas can be used to cook for 2,63 hours. Biogas yield is 39%Keywords: Energy, Renewable, Biodigester, Biogas.

Abstract

ABSTRACT With the current technology developments have made changes in all areas, including trade. Various activities can be done easily and quickly, including buying and selling activities. E- commerce is one of the technology in helping the buying and selling activities. Wide range of products are being sold using e-commerce such as clothes, shoes, bags, food up to ticket. The development of e-commerce is also changing so rapidly, the current CMS (Content Management System) began to be considered to be used to build e-commerce because it is easier and faster in providing information.  North Sulawesi is one area that is famous for its agricultural products such as coconut, cloves and processed products such as palm sugar, coconut oil, and others. Making the application of e-commerce is expected to help provide information related to agricultural products as well as simpifiying the buying and selling activities.  This study aims to create a CMS-based web applications and financial transactions (e-commerce). This research is expected to help the community and students in accessing and providing information related to agricultural products rapidly and extensively, as well as simplifying the buying and selling process via the Internet.

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Charcoal briquettes is solid alternative fuel for oil. This research aimed to evaluate charcoal product from three types of carbonization kiln that used nutmeg shell waste and examine the process of making charcoal briquettes from nutmeg shell waste. The observed characteristics of charcoal briquettes from nutmeg shell waste were  calories value, ash content, and water content. The benefit of this research was producing alternative fuels from renewable agricultural waste into economically valuable products as wells as reducing environmental pollution. This product was charcoal briquettes that could be used for household requirement, small food and beverage industry and canteen.  Key Words: Charcoal Briquet, Nutmeg shell, Carbonization kiln

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objectives of this research is to learn the proccess of making charcoal and the yield of charcoal from the waste of durian’s leather, wood’s savings, coconut shell, the combination of waste durian’s leather and wood shavings (1:1), the combination of weste durian leather and coconut shell (1:1), the combination of waste durian leather and wood shavings (2:1) and the combination of waste durian leather and coconut shell (2:1) that is the testing of briquettes burned power and residual ash which has burnt-out. This research is use complete Random Plan Method, to analyze the yield of charchoal and the time of making charcoal, briquettes burned power, the time of heating 1 litre water till it’s boil and residual ash of briquettes which has burnt-out. The result of research show that the average time of making charcoal process of waste durian leather and coconut shell is the same that is 960 seconds, while making charcoal on shavings wood has the average time 980 seconds. This case is also given the bright difference towards the result of yield charcoal. The result of briquettes burned power on seven treatment shows that the briquette of waste durian leather, coconut shell, the combination of waste durian leather and coconut shell (1:1) and the combination of waste durian leather with coconut shell (2:1) is the best because it has the quick average in heating 1 litre water that is 1140 seconds, while the quick average of burnt-out on C treatment or coconut shell briquettes that is 208,800 seconds and has briquettes rendual ash which has burnt-out is smallest that is 2.77%.  Keywords : Aktif charcoal briquettes, durian lether , shavings wood and coconut  shell.

Abstract

Postharvest damage to potatoes can occur due to plant physiological disorders, such as evaporation (transpiration), respiration (respiration), tubers sprouting, and tubers becoming too ripe. This research aims to design, manufacture, and test an evaporative cooling device using a direct spray method from a fan into a room or box by conducting technical tests about temperature, humidity (RH), signs of potato damage, weight loss, and water content. The test was carried out using an evaporative cooling device (evaporative cooler) for 30 days.    This research tested the effectiveness of the evaporative cooling system compared to room outside storage on potato quality for 30 days observationally. The results show that evaporative cooling equipment can prolong the shelf life of fresh potatoes in tropical areas according to physical parameters such as signs of damage to potatoes during storage, water content, and percentage of weight loss. For future development, increasing the fan and cooling pad to medium size is necessary for more effective equipment. An evaporative cooler is a cost-efficient and sustainable method for preserving agricultural produce in rural areas far from urban centers.

Abstract

As time progresses, students' science literacy skills in the field of natural sciences are starting to decrease. Science literacy plays a crucial role in building community welfare both now and in the future. The student group of SD Negeri Kolongan, Kalawat Sub-district, North Minahasa Regency is one of the community groups in North Sulawesi that needs special attention. This is due to the low scores of students in natural science subjects. The aim of this activity is to improve students' understanding in science literacy skills regarding butterfly species diversity and ecotourism potential. This program was conducted at SD Negeri Kolongan on 6 June 2024 and was attended by all students in grades 4 - 6. The method stages carried out are starting from the preparation stage, presentation of material, evaluation and assistance. Counselling activities were carried out in the form of lectures, questions and answers, and discussions in groups. At the end of the activity, the team evaluated the students as a parameter to measure the achievement of the material. Subsequently, the team provided follow-up support two weeks after the activity was conducted. The evaluation results from the community service conducted with the group of students in grades 4 to 6 averaged a score of 87, with a percentage above 80% (high category). This means that the learning outcomes of SD Negeri Kolongan students and science literacy skills in natural science subjects have increased.ABSTRAKSeiring perkembangan zaman kemampuan literasi sains siswa di bidang IPA mulai menurun. Literasi sains memiliki peranan penting untuk membangun kesejahteraan masyarakat di masa sekarang dan yang akan datang.  Kelompok siswa SD Negeri Kolongan, Kecamatan Kalawat, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara merupakan salah satu kelompok masyarakat Mitra di Sulawesi Utara yang perlu mendapat perhatian khusus. Hal ini dikarenakan nilai siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA masih rendah. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam kemampuan literasi sains mengenai keanekaragaman jenis kupu-kupu dan potensi ekowisata. Kegiatan pengabdian ini telah dilaksanakan di SD Negeri Kolongan pada tanggal 6 Juni 2024 dan dihadiri oleh seluruh siswa kelas 4 – 6.  Metode tahapan yang dilakukan adalah mulai tahap persiapan, tahap penyuluhan, tahap evaluasi dan pendampingan. Kegiatan penyuluhan dilakukan dalam bentuk ceramah, tanya jawab, dan diskusi secara berkelompok. Di akhir kegiatan tim melakukan evaluasi pada siswa sebagai parameter untuk mengukur ketercapaian materi. Selanjutnya tim melakukan pendampingan pasca 2 minggu selesai kegiatan dilaksanakan. Hasil evaluasi dari kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan pada kelompok siswa SD kelas 4 – 6 rata-rata mencapai nilai 87, dengan persentase diatas 80 % (kategori tinggi). Hal ini berarti hasil belajar siswa SD Negeri Kolongan dan kemampuan literasi sains siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA meningkat.
