Abstract

The Placement of Ritual Plants as Soft Elements of Garden Reviewed from Aspect of Balinese Culture Philosophy in District of Payangan, Gianyar Regency, Province of BaliHindus community in Bali always held a religious rituals throughout the year. Most of the ritual elements are descended from plants which are well known as “ritual plants”. Traditional garden of Bali should use ritual plants as a landscaping plant. Objectives of this research were to determine ritual plant as a soft elements of garden located in district of Payangan, Gianyar regency, province of Bali and to review the placement ritual plants from aspects of Balinese philosophy. Data were collected from three villages in Payangan throught field survey. Results showed that there were as many as 48 samples of house were surveyed with 80 species of ritual plants found as it used as elements of garden in district of Payangan. The placement of ritual plants were appropriate to the philosophy concepts of Balinese culture which were Tri Mandala and Asta Dala. Unfortunately, these concept were not implemented by the people in Payangan district because of the lack of knowledge.

Abstract

Mengening temple is one of the cultural landscape that has malukat area but less affirmed malukat area with the washing area for residents and inadequate facilities are problems in the site. This research aims to determine the landscape management applied in Mengening temple. The method used in this research was survey method with observation, questionnaires, interviews, and literature study. The results of this study was a description of management applied by member of Saraseda village sescription of potentials and issues of landscaping management of Mengening temple in terms of management, space, structuring, and maintenance, along with descriptions of recommended efforts that can be done to improve the quality of management and recommendations for a workable floor plan. This recommendation given in the form of inputs that can be done to the government, managers, and the community so that it can be improve the quality of the Mengening temple management and maintain the sanctity and holiness of Mengening temple.

Abstract

Public Perception and Preference of Loloan Riverbank Recreational Park Sanur. Denpasar is a developing city. Like other developing cities in Indonesia, Denpasar City continues to carry out development in various aspects, one of which is the construction of a recreational park. Servers as a recreational facility and social interaction for the people of Denpasar City. One of the recreational parks being promoted is Recreational Park of Loloan Riverbanks located in Sanur Village. To maximize functionality and improve quality of The Recreational Park Loloan Riverbanks, therefore should be done research on this Recreational Park Loloan Riverbanks to know how perception and preference the community as a user of recreational park. This research used survey method with data collection techniques is observation, interview and questionnaire wich amounted to 30 copies for 30 respondent. Result of people’s perceptions showed Recreational Park of Loloan Riverbanks serves as a cheap recreational place and a cheap sport venue for the people’s of Denpasar City. Result of people’s preference showed addition of recreational park support facilities will lead to increased levels of enjoyment and visitor satisfaction from the Recreational Park of Loloan Riverbank. Public perception and preference of The Recreational Park Loloan Riverbanks used as information and references to the manager or related parties that play a role in managing The Recreational Park Loloan Riverbanks Denpasar City, so that later The Recreational Park Loloan Riverbanks will be liked by the community of Denpasar City.

Abstract

Identification and perception use of types elements on yard of Sangeh traditional village, Abiansemal Sub-district, Badung Regency, Bali Province. Bali's traditional garden is one of the uniqueness in Bali. One example of a garden that is closest to its users is yard. Yard is an empty space that is open and has many functions in the life of Balinese people. Currently the arrangement and selection of elements in the ration is very important to note that the activities carried out on yard can still take place. The purpose of this research is to identify the hard elements and soft elements used in Sangeh traditional village, to identify the way people choose the elements used and to provide information about the elements used in the yard area. The results of this study indicate the type of hard elements and soft elements used in the yard. The functions and benefits of the elements used and the recommendation of the application of the elements used are based on data from interviews, questionnaires and various literature studies. The use of elements in the nat should pay attention to the function of the elements used. The use of soft lemen corresponds to the function of landscape, and spiritual function. The use of hard elements is applied wisely so that the ecological function of the yard is maintained.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Landscape Design Concept of Faculty of Agriculture Welcome Area in Udayana University Jimbaran Campus, Bali Campus is an area which multi-segment interactions will be taking place, the landscape situation has to manage to create a fine condition and gain good quality of education inside. As a front yard area which will be passed through by everybody who wants to come inside the campus welcome area has to raise any good impression and able to support the students requirement area to do their campus activities. This research has purpose to create a concept of landscape design of welcome area which has values of aesthetic, functional,  and creating landscape identity of faculty of agriculture the University of Udayana.  This researh has four steps: site measuring, inventaritation, analysis and syntesis, and creating the concepts. The concept of design is formal with Bali traditional arrangement. The concept will aplicate some principals of design such as balance, proportion, repetation, scale, and use shapes streinght and simetry. The concept of space create from Balinese local traditional wisdom the Tri Hita Karana (three source of happiness). The final products are concept plan and some drawings of 3D ilustration. Design concept with traditional Bali arragement wish to be aplicated by all of institution in the University of Udayana to create a unity of landscape which based on Bali local wishdom. Abstract

Evaluation of The Heritability Value and Yield Potential of Corn of SMB-5 Lines As Results of Mass Selection of Berte, A Local Variety Native to Bali on Wet Areas The objective of this research was to find out population homogeneities of SMB-5 line as a result of mass selection of Berte and to find out the agronomic character of the SMB-5 line, mainly the yield potential and the heritability value. This experiment was conducted at Tangguntiti village, Selemadeg Timur District, Tabanan regency which is categorized as wet-type area (B climate type) during six months, started from April until September 2007. This experiment was designed as a Randomized Complete Block Design with nine corn genotypes as treatments. Those corn genotypes were Seraya (Sr), Cicih Tombong (Ct), Arjuna (Ar), Ketan (Kn), Pulut Putih (Pp), Populasi Campuran (Cm), Tongtongan (Tt), SMB-5 (Sm) and Ketokong (Kt). Each treatments was replicated three times, therefore, twenty seven experiment plots were used. There was significant different among corn genotypes used in this research for almost quantitative variables observed. However, there was no significant different occurred in some variables i.e. the number of corn cobs per plant, the weight of 1000 seeds with 12% of water content and the weight of 1000 oven-dry weight seeds. The weight of 1000 seeds with 12% of water content per hectare was 63.17 quintal ha-1 for SMB-5 line and 61.99 quintal ha-1 for Populasi campuran, both were not statistically difference. Almost all variables observed showed high value of heritability.

Abstract

This research conducted to know the effect of decreasing undergrowth stem earn of corn and fertilized corn yield seraya local variety with nitrogen rates and interaction. The experimental factor is decreased unproductive stem earn consist left behind 1 stem earn (Tl), decrease by left behind 2 stem earn (T2) and without a decrease (T3). The second factor is nitrogen dosage by 0,115 and 172,5 kg N/ha. The result of research indicated a real and extremely real interaction between both of treatment factor (T x N) only happen on the amount of variable seed per line and amount of seed per crop. Treatment without decreasing undergrowth stem earn (T3) caused highly weight dry seed oven per hectare is 2,67 ton and lowest on decreasing undergrowth stem earn treatment to left behind 1 stem earn (Tl) is 1,81 ton. Nitrogen treatment 115kg/ha (N2) caused highly weight dry seed oven 2,97 ton/ha and lowest 1,56 ton by 0 kg/ha nitrogen dosage.
