Abstract

Population growth and shrinkage of productive agricultural land led to the availability of rice as a staple food of the population became unbalanced. Efforts to reduce dependence on rice, the food diversification efforts Alternative High carbohydrate should be done so that the robustness, security and sovereignty panganakan remains guaranteed. Plant squash (pumpkin) is one of the plants that have a high carbohydrate content and has many kinds, so this will make it easier in assembly activities yielding varieties. This study aims to collect many different varieties of pumpkin archipelago as starting materials in the assembly of high yielding varieties of activities, and to investigate and identify the character of vegetative and agronomic characters varieties of pumpkin archipelago. Penelitiandilaksanakan in Randuagung village, Lumajang with altitude of 112 meters above sea level above sea level (asl). Materials used in this study a local pumpkin seeds and pumpkin Lumajang local poor. These results indicate that the ratio of male flowers and female flowers on both varieties of local pumpkin shows the number of male flowers are more than the amount of beta-carotene betina.Kadar interest in Lumajang local pumpkin lower than the local pumpkin unfortunate it is seen from the color of pumpkin faded yellow more yellow and less sense to disease manis.Ketahanan both local pumpkin varieties showed criteria tahan.Umur local male flowers of pumpkin unfortunate faster than local pumpkin Lumajang, but the age of the female flower local pumpkin Lumajang faster than local yellow squash malang.Warna local pumpkins are relatively similar; Lumajang brown, while the local varieties of pumpkin unfortunate there is a difference that is brown and green

Abstract

AbstrakKeberadaan kampus yang merupakan tempat dimana teknologi, ilmu pengetahuan dan inovasi ditegakkan, menjadi komunitas di tingkat lokal yang berperan penting dalam berkontribusi menerapkan prinsip sustainability dalam ruang lingkup lingkungannya. Tim PKM UPBJJ-UT Malang melaksanakan kegiatan pemberdayaan yaitu pelatihan bagi civitas akademika dan masyarakat mengenai budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik untuk mewujudkan green campus. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan berlangsung dengan baik, dengan antusiasme tinggi dari peserta yang terlibat. Tanaman hias hidroponik yang ditanam dalam rangka mewujudkan green campus karena memiliki banyak manfaat bagi lingkungan yaitu selain bermanfaat bagi keindahan, dapat juga untuk menyerap polusi udara. Secara umum, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan oleh peserta pelatihan dari sembilan aspek persepsi peserta mengenai budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik.Kata Kunci: Green campus; Hidroponik; Polusi udara; Tanaman HiasAbstractThe existence of a campus, which is a place where technology, science and innovation are upheld, is a community at the local level that plays an important role in contributing to the applying of the principles of sustainability within the scope of its environment. The PKM UPBJJ-UT Malang team carried out empowerment activities, namely training for the academic community and the local community regarding hydroponic plant cultivation to realize a green campus. Based on the results of this service activity, it can be concluded that the activity went well, with high enthusiasm from the participants involved. Hydroponic ornamental plants are planted in order to realize a green campus because they have many benefits for the environment, namely being beneficial for aesthetics, and they can also absorb air pollution. In general, there was an increase in the knowledge of training participants from the nine aspects of participants' perceptions of hydroponic plant cultivation..Keywords: Green Campus; Hydroponics; Air pollutan; Decorative plants
