Abstract

The complex problems of online learning in synchronous and asynchronous because of a reduction in the social life of students. It is necessary to do collaborative learning to observe the dynamics of the interactions in groups during learning. The purpose of this study was to observe group dynamics and student self-efficacy during online learning. The study uses descriptive qualitative methods with data triangulation through observations, interviews and surveys. Junior high school research subjects used the discussion method with asynchronous learning on WhatsApp group (WAG). The high school subjects used the discussion method with synchronous learning on the WAG. Aspects that are observed in group dynamics are the division of roles in groups, leadership, contributions when presenting ideas or ideas, contribution to task work, and interdependence in groups. Self-efficacy was observed using indicators of mastery experience 78% junior high school and 73.3% high school, vicarious experience 76.5% junior high school and 78.1% high school, verbal persuasion 71.4%, physiological and affective states 75.6%. The average percentage of students' self-efficacy was in the medium category, namely 74.2% for junior high school and 75.6% for senior high school

Abstract

The era of 21st-century learning requires students to have various abilities to overcome the complexities of society modern. This creates a breakthrough in learning by implementing an inquiry approach using a web-based socio scientific issue. Learning supported by the use of web-based inquiry can be accessed and implemented online and offline so that learning can become blended learning. The socio scientific issue raised in this study because to determine the level of students' knowledge of the problems in their environment. Samples that were used in this study were 32 junior high school students who were selected by random sampling technique in class. The research method used is a time series design where the pretest and posttest are carried out twice on different materials, namely water pollution and air pollution. Data analysis using normalized gain to determine the effectiveness of the use of web-based inquiry based on socio scientific issues. Based on this research, the average value of the first pretest is 17.53 and the posttest has increased to 26.78 so that the normalized gain value is 0.41 with the following criteria:  currently. In the second pretest, the average score of students is 19 with the post-test average being 39.94 so the normalized gain obtained is 0.57 with moderate value criteria. The aspect of the value of socio scientific ability is also an issue measured by the results. In the first pretest and posttest with the topic of water pollution, aspects of evaluating information experienced an increase with a normalized gain value of 0.44 with moderate criteria, and the pretest and posttest values of the aspects of making decisions also increased with a normalized gain value of 0.39 with moderate criteria. On the pretest and the second post-test with the topic of air pollution aspects of evaluating issues have increased with a gain value Normalized value is 0.54 with moderate criteria, and for the aspect of making decisions to increase the normalized gain is 0.59 with moderate criteria.

Abstract

In the 21st century, an educational institution needs to consider coverage graduates that success is not confined to academic ability, but more to the abilities and skills that will help graduates to compete in a global and digital world today. An important skill to have in the digital age, such as critical thinking skills, problem-solving, creativity, ability to communicate and collaborate as well as having the ability in information technology. This study conducted to describe the learning outcome and response of students with the use of science teaching material that integrated STEAM education and based on Jember’s local wisdom. The design of development by using a model of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate). This research has done in MTs. Bustanul Ulum, Jember in class VII A with 25 sample. The results of the validation average of 4.31 by experts 1, and 4.09 by experts 2. The results of students’ cognitive and psychomotor are 73.84 and 91.8. The average score of student’s response is 0.91. It means the teaching materials that developed is very valid, the value of the cognitive is good enough, the psychomotor is very high and the given of response is very positive, so the teaching materials are feasible to implement and this teaching materials can improved performance and student’s motivation to learn.

Abstract

Biotechnology has growth fast in the last 20 years. Biotechnology produces many products biotechnology, so in some developed countries serve as the centre of bioeconomic activities. The rapid development of science and technology makes biotechnology must be mastered by academics including students. Efforts to improve the mastery of biotechnology can be pursued by using the contextual and integrated technopreneurship lesson. This research is a development research using 4D model (four D model), which consists of four stages, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. However, the implementation of this research is limited to Define, Design, and Develop stage. The book validation value of the students developed based on experts and users is 92.23% and 92.48% with very reasonable criteria. Value of the book of students based on test book readability of student equal to 88,63% with criteria very good and result of student response after using book equal to 93,71% with criterion very good so that book can be said practical and can be used for field study activity.
