Abstract

Putat plant (Planchonia valida) is a medicinal plant that grows in Mahulu, East Kalimantan. Empirically putat leaves are used to treat skin diseases and reduce black spots on the face. Characterization is the initial stage to determine the quality of an extract. Non-experimental research was conducted to determine the specific and non-specific characteristics of putat plants. Samples in the form of putat shoots were obtained from Mahulu Long Melaham Village, Long Bagun District, Mahakam Ulu Regency, East Kalimantan. The stages of the research include plant determination, sample collection, processing of simplicia, extraction using maceration methods, specific and non specific extracts characterization. Specific characteristics of putat leaf extract include organoleptic test in the form of thick extract, blackish brown color, characteristic odor, bitter taste, average water soluble extract content of 62.50% and ethanol soluble extract 48.75%. Secondary metabolites of putat leaf ethanol extract are alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and steroids. The non-specific characteristics of putat leaf extract include average water content of 23.00%, ash content of 6.47% and acid insoluble ash content of 0.06%. Keywords: Planchonia valida, Characterization, Ethanol extract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract : Malnutrition in East Borneo has been in the chronic-acute category. As the capital city of East Borneo, Samarinda has a high prevalence of stunted dan wasted children. Therefore, the government set up a program called Pro-Bebaya. This program supports the health ministry program to reduce malnutrition among children through a supplementary food program (PMT). In Sei Keledang district (part of Samarinda) there are several problems regarding the PMT program, like inadequate infrastructure, decrement of posyandu visits, and limitation in monitoring nutrition status.

Abstract

Drug management at the Hospital Pharmacy Installation is very important to ensure the quality of drugs, in addition to maintaining the availability of pharmaceuticals to keep them in good condition, storage of pharmaceutical reparations is also important because to keep drugs from being damaged, not expired, avoiding dead stock and drug turnover. within 1 year running at maximum. This research is a descriptive non-experimental research. Qualitative data was obtained from observations using a check list form based on Permenkes number 72 of 2016. Quantitative data was based on tracking drug storage indicators, namely drug compatibility with stock cards, Turn Over Ratio (TOR), percentage of ED or damaged drug values. The results of the re-search at RS X Sangatta there were several storages that were not in accordance with predetermined standards. This can be seen from the results of the research conducted, the percentage is 33%, the results storage method is 80%, the storage component is obtained a percentage of 100%, 100% storage settings, 100% emergency medicine management, and 100% storage equipment. The results ofthe evaluation of drug stor-age at RS X Sangatta with drug storage indicators showed TOR results of 1.89 times/period, the percentage of expired or damaged drugs was 5.2%, the percentage of dead stock was 9.03% and the percentage of matched drugs with stock cards was 100%.

Abstract

Excessive oxidation reactions in the body can cause various harmful effects, mainly due to the uncontrolled production of free radicals. Antioxidant compounds are needed to protect the body from free radical attacks. One natural source of antioxidants is the tampoi fruit (Baccaurea pyriformis Gage). This fruit is known to contain metabolites such as flavonoids, phenolics, tannins, and saponins, which act as natural antioxidants. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of tampoi fruit peel (Baccaurea pyriformis Gage) using the DPPH method. This was an experimental study with the independent variable being ethanol extract of tampoi fruit peel and the dependent variable being antioxidant activity. The research stages included plant determination, slimpisia preparation, maceration extraction, phytochemical screening, determination of extract moisture content, and antioxidant activity testing with DPPH. The results showed a drying shrinkage of 5.6%, an extract yield of 13%, and an extract moisture content of 14.77%, which is classified as a thick extract. Phytochemical screening showed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, and saponins. Antioxidant test results showed that tampoi fruit peel ethanol extract had an average IC value of 11.8165 ppm (very strong category), and vitamin C as a comparison had an IC value of 7.5019 ppm. Thus, tampoi fruit peel ethanol extract has strong antioxidant activity.
