Abstract

The diversity of biodiversity in Jemeluk Beach did not guarantee that all marine tourism activities on Jemeluk Beach was not have damage or negative impact on the environment. This research was conducted to determine how the suitability of marine tourism conditions (snorkeling, diving, and beach recreation) in an effort to preserve sustainable marine tourism. This research used the analysis of tourism suitability by comparing the characteristics and quality of land against land use requirements for certain tourism activities. The method of measuring coral cover used the LIT (Line Intercept Transect) method which is based on the form of coral growth. Measurement of the type and number of reef fishes was assessed using the UVC (Underwater Visual Cencus) method by taking data along 50 meters at the same depth as the coral cover data collection. The suitability condition of snorkeling tourism at points I and II was classified as quite appropriate with a value of 78% and 72.23%, while point III was classified as conditionally appropriate with a value of 46.3%. The suitability of diving tourism at points I and II were classified as conditional according to the values of 44.5% and 38.2%, while point III was classified as incompatible with the value of 33.34%. While the results of the calculation of the suitability of the beach tourism index showed a very suitable category with a value of 90% to be used as an object of marine tourism development.

Abstract

Availability of rotifera natural food needs to be increased in line with the increasing need for larvae feed in fish hatchery production activities. This study aims to analyze the effect of different feeds on the growth rate of rotifers (Branchionus plicatilis). This research was conducted in December 2018 to January 2019 at the Jepara Brackishwater Aquaculture Center. This study used a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions, namely control (N. ocullata), treatment 1 (N. ocullata + bread yeast), treatment 2 (N. ocullata + scott emultion), treatment 3 (N. ocullata+ fish powder). The dosages of each feed were 170,000 cells / ind N. ocullata, 0.5 g / 106 rotifera bread yeast per day, 6 µg / ind scott emultion, and 0.3 g /106/ind fish powder. Feeding is done twice a day in the morning and evening. The test plankton used was 15 ind / ml Branchionus plicatilis. Rotifera culture was carried out for 6 days and the population of rotifers was observed every day before feeding. Analysis of water quality was also carried out including DO, salinity, pH, temperature, and ammonia. The rotifera growth rate is analyzed through the number of individuals produced during the culture period. The results showed that treatment 3 (N. ocullata + fish powder) was the best treatment. The results of the ANOVA test showed that different feeding variations for each treatment had a significant effect (P <0.05) on the rotifera growth rate.

Abstract

Pantai samuh termasuk dalam Kelurahan Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua. Pantai Samuh banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai kegiatan pariwisata, jalur transportasi kapal dan pendaratan kapal yang menyebabkan terganggunya keseimbangan ekosistem perairan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas Echinodermata dan kondisi kualitas air di Pantai Samuh. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari-Maret 2018. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif. lokasi penelitian ditentukan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Terdapat 3 stasiun pegamatan yaitu stasiun 1 merupakan area nelayan (pendaratan kapal), stasiun 2 merupakan area pariwisata, dan stasiun 3 merupakan area tidak ada aktivitas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilaksanakan pada 3 stasiun didapatkan 15 spesies Echinodermata yang tergolong ke dalam 4 kelas yaitu kelas Asteroidea, Ophiuroidea, Echinoidea, dan Crinoidea. Kelimpahan total Echinodermata pada masing-masing stasiun yaitu stasiun 1 dengan nilai 1,8 ind/m2, stasiun 2 dengan nilai 0,74 ind/m2, dan stasiun 3 dengan nilai 3,34 ind/m2. Indeks keanekaragaman ketiga stasiun masing-masing sebesar 2,3670, 1,8193, dan 2,4575. Indeks keseragaman ketiga stasiun masing-masing sebesar 0,9228, 0,8749, dan 0,9075. Sedangkan indeks dominansi ketiga stasiun masing-masing sebesar 0,1128, 0,2008, dan 0,1099. Berdasarkan kriteria indeks keanekaragaman Shanon-Wiener (H’), indeks keaekaragaman pada ketiga stasiun mengindikasikan tingkat keanekaragaman sedang yaitu penyebaran jumlah individu sedang. Nilai rata-rata hasil pengukuran parameter fisika dan kimia perairan di Pantai Samuh tergolong optimum untuk biota laut yaitu suhu 27,7-28oC, DO 5,1-5,2 mg/L, pH 7,8-8, Salinitas 29,7-29,9 ppt.
