Abstract

Teaching-learning strategy (TLS) course learning activities are carried out in shifting as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Shifting learning activities result in a reduction of the duration of face-to-face so that the need for students to study theory and carry out practices is not well accommodated. This has a direct impact on the decrease in student learning achievement. The purpose of this research is to improve student learning achievement and accommodate student needs using a collaborative learning model with a blended learning approach. Collaborative learning models are implemented in every learning activity both face-to-face and online. The blended learning approach is presented in learning activities that are learning theory done face-to-face while the practice is done online. This research was a class action study and conducted in three cycles. The results showed that there was an improvement in student learning achievement for each cycle. The application of learning models with this approach can accommodate the needs of students to learn theory and practice. It can be used as an alternative solution during the pandemic era with shifting learning activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore ethnomathematical elements contained in the language of the Tubbe tribe which is then associated with the context of learning student numbers in elementary schools. The research method used in this study is qualitative research method with exploratory, descriptive, and ethnographic approaches. The results of this study are in the form of classification of place values and number construction based on the language structure of the Tubbe tribe. In addition, the results of this study are in the form of a set of numbers contained in the Tubbe Tribe language, namely the set of natural, digit, prime, composite, integers, rational, decimal, irrational, and rill numbers. Some mathematical concepts in numbers such as root and negative forms are not found in the Tubbe language. Thus, to relate the language of the Tubbe tribe to the context of number learning in elementary schools must still be linked to mathematical concepts using Indonesian language.

Abstract

Abstract. In mathematics learning, giving abstract symbols by the teacher is very boring for most students. Teachers still find it difficult to integrate and implement contexts and culture-based media in the learning process in elementary schools. Low achievement in mathematics learning is caused by ineffective models used by teachers causing difficulties in understanding the material so that student learning achievement becomes low. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and PBL learning models modified with an ethnomathematical approach to scale material. The population of this study amounted to 42 students who were divided into two classes, namely the experimental class (VA) and the control class (VB). The sampling technique used in this study was saturated sampling. The data collection technique used is a test. Data analysis conducted in this study is normality test, homogeneity test, and z test. The results showed that the average experimental class posttest result was 75.45 while the average control class posttest result was 62 and the calculation results of the hypothesis test using the z test, obtained the value with = . So it can be concluded that the learning achievement of students who are subjected to the Problem based learning (PBL) learning model with an ethnomathematical approach is better than the Problem based learning (PBL) learning model. Keywords:  Problem Based Learning (PBL), Ethnomathematics, Student achievement

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical literacy ability of students in solving fractional counting operation story problems based on the Honey-Mumford learning method. The subjects of this study are students of class V of SD GMIT Pulelang. The instruments used in data collection were the mathematical literacy test instrument and the Learning Style Questionnaire (LSQ). The results of the study show that there are differences in students' abilities in several aspects based on indicators in mathematical literacy. Students with an activist learning style tend to be more detailed in terms of formulating problems in detail using correct mathematical sentences, using the right procedures but not to the stage of simplification and the conclusions given are not precise. Students with a reflective learning style tend to be meticulous in using proper calculation operating procedures and deduce the final result correctly and to formulate problems tend to use practical mathematical sentences. Students with a theoretical learning style tend to solve problems carefully using the right procedures and reinterpret the meaning of the question but it is not incomplete. Furthermore, students with a pragmatic learning style tend to use simple and practical reasoning with the use of minimal mathematical formulas so that the final results obtained are more predominantly wrong
