Abstract

RingkasanSeni wayang merupakan produk kebudayaan yang dianggap sebagai karya seni adiluhung. Sebagai sebuah seni pertunjukan, wayang mengintegrasikan beragam aspek seni seperti seni rupa, seni drama, seni sastra, seni musik dan seni tari. Di balik kisah-kisah dan penokohan seni wayang pun terkandung nilai filosofi tinggi yang dapat dijadikan panutan hidup. Namun seiring dengan perkembangan zaman, saat ini generasi muda hanya mengenal tokoh-tokoh penting yang popular seperti Pandawa dan Kurawa. Sedangkan wayang yang bukan tokoh utama seperti Brayut mungkin sama sekali tidak dikenal.Kata Brayut berasal dari kata „bebrayutan‟ yang berarti „bergelantungan‟. Wayang ini mengambil sosok sepasang suami istri yang mendukung banyak sekali anak. Wayang dengan tokoh Brayut (Kyai Brayut: Laki-laki, Nyai Brayut: Perempuan) ini cukup dikenal dan hampir selalu ada pada setiap kotak wayang kulit yang lama, tetapi sekarang sudah jarang ditemui dalam kotak wayang kulit baru. Tinjauan terhadap tokoh Brayut sangat signifikan, terkait dengan konsep dan unsur budaya yang terkandung di dalamnya. Seperti tokoh Panakawan, tokoh Brayut merupakan sebuah karya asli Jawa yang diangkat dari falsafah “banyak anak banyak rezeki” dalam masyarakat tradisional. Hal ini sejalan dengan pemaknaan lain karya seni di luar kedudukannya sebagai karya adiluhung, yakni bahwa seni juga merupakan barang atau karya yang dihasilkan manusia dalam kesehariannya. Pesan yang ingin disampaikan dari tokoh Brayut adalah bahwa orangtua tidak perlu khawatir anaknya akan terlantar, sebuah pendirian bahwa mendapatkan uang harus disertai dengan kerja tekun memeras keringat. Di masa kini ketika banyak anak tak lagi dipandang sebagai sebuah nilai tambah, penggambaran Brayut boleh jadi menuai kontroversi. Meski demikian, Brayut dapat dipergunakan untuk mengusung sebuah konsep yang dapat disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan zaman.Kata Kunci: Brayut, Semiotika, Wayang KulitAbstractWayang art is a cultural product that is considered as a masterpiece of art. As a performing art, wayang integrates various aspects such as visual art, drama, literature, music, and dance. Behind the stories and characterizations, wayang also contains high philosophy values that can be a role model of life. Unfortunately, younger generation today only recognize popular important figures such as Pandavas and Kuravas, while puppets that are not main characters such as Brayut may be completely unknown.“Brayut” came of the word „bebrayutan‟ which means „hanging‟. This wayang takes the figures of a married couple who support many children. Wayang Brayut character (Kyai Brayut: Male, Nyai Brayut: Woman) is well known and almost always be found in every old shadow wayang box, but now rarely found in new leather wayang box. The study of Brayut figure is very significant, related to the concept and cultural elements contained in it. Like Panakawan figure, Brayut figures are a genuine Javanese work that is came from the philosophy of "much children, much fortune" in traditional society.46 | Volume 5 Edisi 2, 2018This is in line with the interpretation of art outside of its position as high art, that art is also a productmade by humans in their daily life. The message from Brayut's character is that the parent does notneed to worry that his son will be abandoned, a money stand should be accompanied by diligent workof sweating. In the present when many children are no longer seen as an added value, Brayut'sportrayal may reap the controversy. However, Brayut can be used to carry a concept that can beadapted to the needs of the times.Keywords: Brayut, Semiotics, Leather Wayang

Abstract

Contemporary art continues to expand its definition, blurring the boundaries between functional objects and fine art. This practice-based research explores the potential of recycled materials in visual art creation, using a tricycle as the primary medium. Using a mixed-media approach, primarily utilizing recycled metal and plate, along with recycled components such as drills and old water pumps, this project aims to transform the tricycle from a mobility object into a work of fine art. This concept intentionally blurs functional aesthetics, emphasizing freedom of expression and uniqueness of form, and reflecting a dialogue between the past and the present through recycled materials. Through a case study of the work "The Bully," this paper explores how a writer's personal trauma can be sublimated into a powerful artistic expression, forming a visual narrative of power, intimidation, and artistic revenge. This research also adopts an Artistic Research methodology to examine the creative process holistically.

Abstract

Indonesia diperkirakan mengalami puncak bonus demografi pada tahun 2025–2030, dengan dominasi kelompok usia produktif dalam struktur penduduk. Hal ini membuka peluang besar dalam sektor ekonomi dan industri kreatif, termasuk bidang fotografi. Generasi Z, yang tumbuh di era digital, menunjukkan kedekatan tinggi dengan teknologi, namun memiliki kecenderungan terhadap gaya belajar yang instan dan visual. Menjawab tantangan ini, kegiatan workshop bertajuk “Mengenal Ragam Pose untuk Mengarahkan Model Pemula dalam Sesi Pemotretan Fotografi Profesional” dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi fotografi, keterampilan teknis, serta kepercayaan diri pelajar dalam praktik pemotretan profesional, khususnya dalam hal pengarahan pose model dan pemanfaatan pencahayaan studio. Melalui pendekatan praktik langsung, kegiatan ini mencakup pengenalan teknik dasar pose model, pencahayaan studio (high key dan sistem three-point lighting), komunikasi visual, serta penggunaan alat bantu profesional. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman teknis, kepercayaan diri, dan kemampuan ekspresif peserta, baik sebagai fotografer maupun model. Beberapa hasil karya dinilai memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai portofolio kreatif di bidang fashion dan komersial. Evaluasi formatif dan sumatif menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan experiential learning mampu menumbuhkan kreativitas, kolaborasi, dan literasi visual yang kuat. Kegiatan ini turut membuka wawasan peserta terhadap peluang profesi dan kewirausahaan di bidang fotografi, sekaligus membangun kesadaran sosial dan keterampilan abad 21 yang relevan dengan kebutuhan industri kreatif masa depan.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of childhood memories, particularly the experience of "unresolved revenge" in the form of a failed tricycle ownership, on the process of creating works of art. This phenomenon is analyzed through the lens of psychoanalysis and consumerism criticism, where childhood fantasies transform into an obsession with collecting in adulthood, as an outlet for powerful passionate sensations. Qualitatively, works of art are positioned not only as manifestations of personal expression, but also as sustainable and critical practices. The articulation of art becomes a way to resolve consumerist trauma in a non-physical way, transforming the urge for unsustainable material accumulation (the infatuation of collecting) into artistic output that reflects and critiques the symbolic prestige value of commodities in the 1980s. This study concludes that personal memory-based art practices offer a sustainable framework for psychological recovery and social critique of the endless cycle of material desires.

Abstract

Product design is a further enhancement of visual art oriented towards function and mass production. In the context of toys, this phenomenon supports additional functions of toys as entertainment medium for adults for emotional release and nostalgia ,not merely as stimulation for child development. Based on product design theory, emotional theory and childhood memory as the foundation, this research explored the role of toys as universal entertainment agents to facilitate relaxation and community building. By implementing a transdisciplinary approach, higher education as the provider of the workforce has the potential to make significant contributions in the development of the modern toys industry. This writing analyzes how toys repeated design and specific art style link industry and hobby. The author would also explore how some disciplines are able to integrate to enrich the design and production of modern toys.
